I think the morality in killing someone who wants to die/be killed is a very touchy subject that we shouldn't delve into.
Why? Remeber, bw are storied based on asking hypothetical questions. There should not be a question they can't ask.

Well we could argue till the cows come home but neither one of us would win.
Two things. One I still feel rather uncomfortable with taking someone who has been describe as having the mind of a child into battles and making him kill people just gives me an icky feeling all over, and two I really want to just cut his bangs so they aren't in his eyes that's driving me up the wall guess now I know how my parents felt.
Edit: I guess depending on how he's handled though it could be pretty good though I'm worried I might turn into a damned mother hen with it if I end up enjoying his character, always had a soft spot for wanting to protect 'broken' characters like this poor sweetie

As for those wondering why anyone would even consider having motherly type feelings towards this guy, uh, some just do? It's hard to explain. Some may wanna gut the guy, and then there are those who wanna wrap him in a blanket, pat his head, and read him bedtime stories. *shrugs*
One thing's for damn sure, I'm avoiding the "I'd like to romance Cole!" topic like a black metal door on a Texas summer day. (I accidentally brushed my hand up against one of these doors when temps were 116°... cried for a week after that.)

Cole could be interesting there just needs to be a good amount of character development that doesn't involve crazy, angry spirit crap.
He was one of the most intriguing characters in the book. I look forward to seeing what role he has in Inquisition.

There's no middle ground for them? Darn. Guess I'll find out how I really feel about them in DAI then since Cullens been always ehh to me and Cole well I don't know Cole other than him being described as having the mind of a child and killing people.
Now normally I hate playing therapist to the followers but in Cole's case I think he might need it but won't know until I meet him, (and am I the only one here feeling uneasy about dragging someone to kill for me who has the mind of a kid? 
)

I have no idea why but this comment makes me imagine finding Cole being sad because someone stole his shoes. Or us getting the chance to steal his shoes and make him sad.

But the arguement is based on the motivations and action of the character in bw story. We can talk about it just as long as we don't have a flame war about it.
I don't know what's worse: that hat or his hair. The hair textures seem to get worse and worse. His face looks good, though. Not as in good-looking/handsome, but good texture. Finally not a shiny face.
I think for me the biggest sort of...turn off, if you can call it that...is that people seem legitimately to feel that Cole is just adorable. Poor little guy who just needs someone to love him...and it just really, really weirds me the **** out.
Now granted, maybe he'll be less Mary Bell and more misunderstood teen dreamboat when paired with a voice but....
I think he's an interesting character, no offense to DG or anything. I just don't see why people would want to give him cuddles.
I don't know if it makes it more or less weird for you, but as someone who wants to wrap Cole in a blanket and feed him soup, I feel the same way about Zevran, Merrill and Fenris. Merrill is a blood mage, and Zevran and Fenris have each killed far more people than Cole has at the end of Asunder - and with far better understanding of what they were doing.
Many of our Dragon Age companions have been guilty of cold-blooded murder, and a few have made a living at it, but that doesn't mean I can't feel sympathy and affection for them. (After all, we spend most of the game killing people and things.) Cole can't help what he is, and he doesn't even understand his own nature, which is more excuse than Zevran has, or Leliana in her barding days.
Mind you, that doesn't mean I condone his actions. I hope I get the chance to give Cole a hug, make him a cup of hot chocolate and tell him to put the murderknife down unless we're in combat.
Give the poor guy a break. Most the forum has adopted him as their honorary son, and you don't want to anger a large amount of doting mothers and fathers.

This reminds me of when a bunch of people complained that Fenris looked too emo, but apparently Bioware wasn't even getting started.
This guy better have freaking James Earl Jones as a voice actor or else I will wish that I really was magically unable to remember ever having seen him.
EDIT: Just re-checked the 'Last Supper' image of the companions standing around the table and it looks like Cole can wear something without so many gorram buckles or a hat the size of the Deep Roads. Thank. the. Maker.

I'm pretty sure most of the people who want to cuddle him don't think he's a dreamboat, they think he's a skinny underfed puppy that wandered onto their stoop and it'd be easier to get rid of it if it ever came to you and begged for food but it doesn't because it doesn't want to bother you and that just makes the whole thing cuter and sadder.
