Racist? No.
But she does have that winning personality that ensures her the hotspot next to bomb on Virmire on pretty much all of my playthroughs.

I'd say "no" from conversations with her but then the words "I can't tell the aliens from the animals" come out of her mouth on the Citadel.
Not a racist.
Cause we're talking about species here.
I'd say she is mildly racist--she does say some nasty things about Liara when angry and a few other comments that make me angry. It is however, nothing like the racism of a Kai Leng or Rasa. Bigotry would probably be a better word because of our knee-jerk reaction when we here the word racism.
I think her attitude towards Liara isn't really about race for her. It's more that Liara is:
Over 100 years old and still looks like a hot grad student
The daughter of Saren's closest advisor
Is way more knowledgeable than her, at least when it comes to this whole Prothean Beacon and Reaper thing.
A potetnial rival for Shepard's affections (if Shepard is male)
Basically it's suspicion mixed with some petty jealousy combined with Ash's unfortunate habit of shooting her mouth off.
But she did make comments related to Liara's race when angry. Jacob uses an outright racial slur in a similar situation. I'd call them both racist.
Been some time since I played second game. Where does Jacob says that and whom about?

I'd call them angry. Angry people say ugly things, not because they necessarilly believe them, but because they know they are hurtful
@OP
Would you consider Tovarisch Mikhailovich to be racist?

I'd probably say all kinds of lousy things to the aliens of Mass Effect if the mood struck. If I was mad enough at a salarian, I'd probably make references to the frogs I dissected in school and how he's next or something.
I agree with jtav on Ashley. What she says is stemming from anger, but she has to have some type of internal prejudice (that would be on a level of bigotry) to come up said anger.

Yup.
Nope. She's just honest...

And racist.

I'll never understand why people can hate Ashley so much but love Liara.
And racist
Nope. She never made a single racist comment.

Lol. That's the racist mantra, ain't it not? Cause that's all I ever hear when something starts blurping out racial slur and you call them out on it
"I'm not a racist, just speaking the truth!"
Nope. She never made a single racist comment.
"I can't tell the difference between the animals and the aliens!"
Sorry, what were you lying?

Opinions, man. And preferences.

They're two completely separate characters as well. I very strongly dislike both of them, for separate reasons. It's weird to wonder why one might like one while hating the other.

I like that line. Too bad my femshep couldn't add a line herself.

Lying? Lol
Uh, yeah I don't see whats racist about that statement. She's making an observation. She can't tell the difference.
Like I said in the other thread, it's understandable for someone who never saw a hanar before to perhaps not realize they're dealing with a sophont until some form of communication takes place. The way the lore puts it, there are far, far more species on the Citadel than are depicted in-game. People would have pets (Bailey talks about poodles crapping on the grass as one of the frivolities the Presidium deals with). It's an honest observation. She doesn't condescend to known sophonts or pretend humanity is superior.I like that line. Too bad my femshep couldn't add a line herself.
Nobody is impressed with the racism card anymore, which is a good thing.
