There is a slight difference disliking someone and outright killing them but you may have a point. Different people will draw different lines.Freedom of speech doesn't mean freedom from judgement. People have a right to express themselves and everyone has a right to agree or disagree...I could take it a step further and say that we also have the right to make her kiss that bomb on Virmire for whatever reason we choose.

Gottlieb had some good quotes.
And it's true.
Politics, poetry, emotions, philosophy, psychology etc.
They are all lies.
Numbers are the only truth. Numbers do not lie. Quantity does not lie. Physics do not lie.
And everything is based on numbers. On physics.

Ashley's grandfather and Shaxni attribute heavily to her initial bitterness.
Take into account that she hadn't had real heavy alien contact prior to that, and the first one is a Turian that kills her entire unit using Geth?
She's going to distrust them. But despite a dumb comment here or there, she isn't some Terra Firma radical, or Pro-Cerberus affiliate. She's a soldier without a dad or grandfather, her family's name is blacklisted in the military, and overall she was willing to die on Virmire as a martyr.
If Ashley lives, she grows up and appreciates it all more, is more accepting.
If Ashley dies, she sat there by a nuke or got gunned down, fighting against the odds.
The fact that Ashley can die from trying to protect the Council from Shepard is remarkable.

Nah, one of us is mathematically correct.
Numbers, the closest we get to the handwriting of god.
See, this I can agree with ^

Now, which of us is going to do the Calculus to settle the dispute on who is correct or not?
It might also involve some high-level analysis of pi to the 43 digit past the decimal.

Seriously, if you can do the math, you can do anything.
Figure out the numbers and write the right sequences, you can warp reality if you can manifest it physically.
As Carl Sagan once said, Pi doesn't hold the keys to the universe, Pi is the key to the universe.

You can become a mathemagician.
Eh, David doesn't have the patience or creativity for a mathemagician. Hell, I seriously doubt he's even going to get a degree in what he says he is. He is known to lie a lot.
Though, if David is what I think he is, it should come as no surprise he's good with numbers (though in the past, he has shown that this isn't the case. He isn't very good at math or physics).

You don't have to do that David. You already try to do it here. You're the master of make believe.

With a minor in haughtiness and scoffing.
He'll be in the Professorate. He might even have Sheldon Cooper beat.
At least Sheldon is correct for the most part though, even if he is insufferable.

I made a RPG Maker game for a high school class. It was called Mathemagic and answering questions correctly leveled you up so you wouldn't have to grind.
I miss making RPGs.

Never really gave it much thought since she doesn't live past Virmire for me.
Also, it should be pointed out that Ashley came from a Military family, her Grandfather was the first human to ever surrender to an alien species(if I remember correctly). It may have something to do with her mentality that Aliens can not be trusted. She isn't racist, but she doesn't trust them.
Though, I think she gets over that by the end of the trilogy.
