Er, no. Dragons are just animals. Unusually intelligent animals, perhaps as smart as dolphins, but still natural creatures.

I was wondering because in one of the trailers, where demons pour out of the fade, one of them appears to be a dragon.

There is secret feature...

you need to connect your mic and activate voice command then shout GOL'HAH'DOV and you can ride any dragon you want.

I don't know about 'befriending' a dragon. But let's say if a future protagonist was so powerful through lore (I'm talking OGB implied power levels) and if that power were related to or derived from dragons like Alistair or again baby Urthemiel then I can definitely see a dragon being cowed or bullied into submission. It would have to be a story that focuses on dragons specifically though, and well Skyrim happened not too long ago.

Aren't dragons supposed to be demons in this setting? Getting to ride them would come down to making deals with demons... Nope, do not want.

Really? My characters constantly make deals with demons and it hasn't cost them even once.

Want to say I remember some kind of reference to one of the mounts being "reptilian" or whatever....so possibly Drakes but not full on High Dragons.

They might be talking about Wyverns which I would kill for to be made into mounts, next best thing after dragons if you ask me. And screw that drake that looks like a cross between a T-Rex and a crocodile.

The Tevinter Old Golds also appear as dragons, but they're still not demons.

(It's not clear whether the Old Gods are very powerful dragons that are truly intelligent, or Fade creatures that have possessed dragon bodies or taken on their form, or something else entirely. My money is on option two, but we don't have a clear answer.)

Considering the Old Gods are male and only female dragons have wings, then I say definitely option 2 is more likely.

I was going to post that

I heard we're going to get lizard mounts, but not so sure about dragons

Good point and to some extent the precedent has already been set with riding Wyverns.

wasn't there some sort of art last year that had a dragon tamer?

no it was someone jumping off a cliff towards a dragon. that does not make them a tamer. Riordan jumped onto the Archdemon but he isn't an archdemon trainer.
