Pretty much the title. I don't know too many people who spec into Carnage on the Battlemaster, so what would you put in it's place to encourage a higher variety of builds? I have a few I just thought up, although I didn't think them through too much.

1) Battlemaster - sub Lift grenades for carnage

2) Paladin - sub Throw for Incinerate. Ok so this is sort of cheating since I always spec all 3 of his powers, but still. A Sentinel without biotic power makes me sad. Also perhaps sub Barrier for Incinerate as well.

3) Saboteur - Stim packs for either Sentry Turret or Homing grenades (probably turret). It would make the melee build more viable, and I rarely find myself using all 3.

4) Drell Vanguard - pretty much anything for Pull. Maybe Barrier, maybe Biotic Focus.

5) Talon Merc - Overload for Concussive Arrows. I dunno, he seems like he needs something Engineery about him, and I never use those arrows.

What are your thoughts? I'm sure there are many other options than what I've listed, and I'm curious what you can come up with. Please explain why you don't use the power on the build, and why the new one would be better in your eyes.

I thought of that, but then I thought it would be even more OP than he already is. Maybe I should mention in the post not to make someone too OP and keep it lore friendly...we'll have to see how carried away this gets first  :D

Pretty sure the Paladin's an engineer.

On topic, I dunno about a power necessarily, but I'd love to play a drell (on host) that had the teleport power of the Fury/Slayer.

1. Replace talon merc with a character having sabotage, overload and sub net as the power set.

2. Replace lash with throw on the smashdept.

3. Replace carnage on the kroguard with prox mine or some other combat power.

I like pull on DA and DV so that I can skip it and max the other two very good powers, excellent passives and the take the rank 6 movement speed evo in fitness.

For the remaining characters, I don't skip any power and so that'll be all from my side.

Warp instead of carnage on the krogan vanguard, because charging and detonating at the same time is fun. Could have given a use to the recharge speed evo at rank 6 of warp.

I very rarely skip powers, I even use lash on the batguard and carnage on the kroguard...

Maybe concussive shot on the Tsol. Proxy mine do the same stagger job, but also debuff and and has a better radius. I don't know what would be useful instead, the new power shouldn't badly interact with Marksman cooldown... maybe a passive power or nades.

Inferno nades would be awesome but OP. Inferno nades > proxy mine for fire explosion and debuff (or maybe debuff first, then inferno Dot ?) then clean up the mess with marksman... Preitor Gavorn style.

Maybe frag nades. Or fortification, for tankiness or to try silly melee builds.

Devastator mode instead of concussive shot and Hunter mode instead of Proxy Mine for TSol. Otherwise those powers compete with MM badly.

Looks balanced.

Warp instead of Stasis on the Asguard would be quite handy. Just to get a bit more edge in dealing with the armoured bullet sponges

I must be one of these rare people who use both electric and biotic hammers...

Speaking about decoy, I rarely use it with the salarian engineer. By far the least interesting pet power... Just give him proxy mines instead.

I just love proxy mines.

Shockwave on Batarian Sent. Always skipped it then one day I thought why not? "Do it for the 6x6 tech bursts," I said. Turns out I don't like Shockwave. At least for sure on him. So I burned a respec card ASAP to set it to just the net again. And I'm happy.

Plus if I want 6x6 tech burst from the sub net, I got my all 6 Vorcha Hunter.

I'd give Quarksman Homing Grenades instead of Sabotage. It wouldn't compete with Marksman's cooldown and the kit would still specialize in "precision" damage instead of mass murder like some other soldier.

AF on the Justicar. Replace pull, and she is the goddess of BEs after that.

Homing Grenades is a good one.  I was actually going to post this same suggestion with Frag Grenades when I saw your post.  Stickies might be good too.  Basically, none of the OP grenades like Arc/Lift/Cluster.  He's good enough as it is.

Shockwave, not AF.  Reave + Bubble + Shockwave would be a ridiculous amount of explosions.  And a lot of them would be 65% boosted too.

Well, he's good, I like him, and I play him quite often, but I'd still say that almost every other soldier is better. Humans, Turian, Batarian, GT at the very least. So he could use a slight buff.

I was considering Stickies as well, but as I see Quarksman as a potential long range specialist, Homing Grenades seem like a better fit. And Frags and Multi-Frags don't suit his precision style quite so well, IMO.

You're probably right, but if you give him any grenades (even Stickies), I think he's as good as pretty much any of the other Soldiers.  I was thinking Frags because they kind of balance out his precision style and give him a CQC power.  Pretty much all of the other soldiers have at least one good CQC power - the Quarksman's only CQC is "shoot stuff in the face."

Just put tactical cloak in place of the power you don't usually spec into. :P

Reave for Warp on the Shaman. Multi-booms, DR, and mass priming for Warp Ammo use. Warp isn't bad, but I'd have given him Reave.

And Night Shade Blades for Carnage, on the Battlemaster.
