Put your stuff on both. It's not so hard. I copy over the descriptions, use the same pictures, etc.
Something strange at the Nexus

That's a fair point but may also lead to dilution and lack of focus. To have to search one place or another for something may equally stop someone from making the effort. A one stop shop is my preference but that is not to say I would not post to the Nexus and the vault. If I want people to see my work I would be foolish not to use all the resources available. In time the Nexus will develop a history of it's own.
I have often pondered why the NWN1 community did not migrate, perhaps your assessment is correct.

I admit I'm a bit remiss in heeding my own advice, since I have not yet put my own mods on the new Vault, but I've always planned to. When the old Vault was up, they were both there and on the Nexus. In the past week I even posted something on the new Vault that I haven't gotten around to posting on the Nexus.
And if a third option emerges, I'd want to post there as well.

It's always more legwork having to upload and manage multiple locations, but then it does help to get your work seen and hopefully in turn we can all benefit if we can get a few more people interested in NWN2 modules.

I feel that the NWNII vault deserves our support since we have invested time and effort into it creation
So does the Nexus. There were no plans for a NWN section and it was created at our request. If that doesn't deserve our support (in a way, perhaps even more, since someone else was asked to do the job), I don't know what does. It's already disappointing that many authors haven't uploaded their work there - one of the conditions for its creation was that enough files would be uploaded in order to make it worth-wile, and there are far less than some of us were expecting.
BTW, I'm not getting any of those issues. Still no mention of the endorsements, nor ads (I use Adblock Plus, maybe that's why)... Everything looks as it used to do.

I agree and in a way don't have much sympathy for people losing their work if they didn't keep an eye on what they put on the internet and when the vault was sinking moved their stuff. They're relying on others to protect their creations and that's not a good way to go about things. It takes me about a minute a day to click my modules comments pages to check nobody's lost or got stuck and I'm surprised more didn't pop back here to find out what happened when the vault redirected them, it sort of shows that they don't really care any more about what they did or who's playing it which is sad.

Nexus seems to have more than vault ii so far how can they say its not worth while.
Where's your mod then ? The longer people can't access content the faster they look the other way.

When the old vault when down and we asked the Nexus owner if we could have a Nexus (and he came to this site and asked us we wanted in one), the request came from nwn2 people. We crossposted in the nwn1 bioware forums asking them to start submitting but got little response. So a bit of not invented here and stubbornness and change is bad and "i dont like x about nexus", plus the old vault came back fast enough that people could pretend that vault death wasnt an issue.I have often pondered why the NWN1 community did not migrate
PJ
There is still pretending things will be ressurected on old vault death this time, but it finally seems to be starting to sink in for people and we're getting a steady flow of migration to new vault now thanks to people uploading from both communities. It helps that the new vault admins are mostly from the nwn1 community, so getting the nwn1 community on board was easier this time.
Even if old vault comes back, which I dont think will happen despite the statement on the old vault page, my content is no longer going there as I dont see them actually fixing many of the behind the curtains issues like pictures and malware filled admin pages. Only new vault and nexus for my stuff.

I'm referring to these posts by Dark0ne (the Nexus' admin):
http://forum.bioware...ypse/?p=7749287
http://forum.bioware...ypse/?p=7968047
Read the posts after the latter and you'll see how several of us replied with a: "Oh, definitely, a crapload of files will likely be uploaded in no time, given the sheer amount of modules and community creations out there."
That didn't happen.

Yes, you can count me as one of the optimistic ones.
I must say at least that I'm glad the alternative of "some guy hosting a page of links to people's Dropbox/Sendspace/Rapidshare/Megaupload mods" didn't prevail.

I like the Nexus site, but I don't think it'll become the mass repository for NWN2 that the old Vault was. I just wouldn't be comfortable for migrating other people's content there, whereas the new Vault allows for ownership transfer and thus it seems okay for transferring content there.

Correct -- you would need the original author to have stated at some point that it's okay to repost his/her work elsewhere in order to upload someone else's content onto the Nexus, and that is an inherent limitation to the amount of content that can be put on there.
The only thing that makes me mostly okay with doing it on the new Vault is accepting Rolo's statement that his status as an affiliate of IGN gives his repository equivalent status to the Vault itself, and that it's not "really" uploading it "somewhere else" without the original authors' permission in that case. I would not be okay with it otherwise, because I want to see the wishes of the individual uploaders to be respected, and confirmed before taking actions in their name.
I may lean toward accepting this statement further because it aligns with my desire for work and resources to be preserved and maintained, and my own selfish desire to continue to have access to things.

I try to respect the owners permissions as much as possible when transferring content by setting up the flags appropriately. But unless it explicitly states that we can't migrate it to a new repository (or the original owner is still around to ask) I don't see a need to hold off.

Wow, I'd be absolutely gutted if I'd lost my modules.. all that work ! If the new vault one's got corrupted in transit, nobody had bothered to save everything ( Mr Kipp and co. ) or no one has kept a copy on their pc it's gone forever. That's sad that you're not that interested in what you did before or particularly care about it.
This is exactly what I was talking about, you knew the vault was collapsing and didn't even ensure you had a copy of your own work or nexus it ? Doesn't look like there's much hope that people who haven't been on this forum will ever get involved with swapping over or maintaining their work !
Why rely on others to save what you carefully made for all those years ?

I'm trying to get in the habit of transferring over a few entries from the ftp repository to the new Vault each day. It gets me familiar with all of the old, available material and over time I'll get quite a bit of content stood up. Right now I'm focusing on the Hall of Fame modules and hakpacks. If you have some specific requests, please let me know.
I do wish the other people transferring content would also try to pull the screen shots and spend a few moments cleaning up the format. That can add a lot to the attractiveness and draw of the material.

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind.
Now that so many projects are being ported over, it does make the new Vault a more interesting place to visit. There's always additions showing up on the list. What's old is new again...

In that case, I'd need the screenshots for the series "Les ombres de la toile" and "Le phylactere sombre" by Ambryum.

A correction to my original statement -- I have screenshots for all NWN2 modules that were on the Vault. I looked for the ones you specified, and was surprised not to find them even though I included the international modules, until I saw that they're NWN1 modules. Sorry about that.
