If not both, then I see Evangeline eating it.
((if only because she serves the same narrative purpose as Cullen))
Though I kinda suspect that if she is in the game, Fiona will have her plot armor.

Seems a bit silly for Wynne to die for her spirit to go into Evangeline so she die five minutes into the game....
But I won't cry about it. While I liked the characters, I wouldn't be broken up over it too much.

(I assume anyone in this thread knows Asunder's ending, but still... SPOILERS!)
No way! Rhys I can totally imagine, since why else would Cole be following us... but Evangeline? Didn't Wynne believe her true purpose was to pass the spirit onto her? That would suck so much if they immediately killed Evangeline afterwards.

Yea it does feel like a waste if that happens

Evangeline being dead would resolve any player's that SHOULDN'T have Wynne alive to pass Faith on...
Either Wynne was alive and healed Evangeline with Faith, only to have Evangeline die in the blast...
OR Wynne was dead already and Evangeline died at the Spire.
Lots of man-pain for Rhys... unless he is also dead in the blast.

There are already threads on this, but anyway mage leaders die so I would guess that definitely means Fiona dunno about Rhys and Evangeline or Adrian for that matter.

If anyone would be alive, it would be Fiona.
Though, the concept art of the burning mage reminds me of Adrian...

She's the mage leader why would she survive?

Because Gaider plot armor.
She survived the Taint. What's a little Fade Tear ASPLOSION times compared to that?

Fiona surviving I think depends on Lambert surviving his encounter at the end of Asunder. If he is alive, it is natural to have her alive since they are perfect foils for each other.

Evangeline and Rhys are not mage leaders so killing them would be point less. Rhys does hold some power in the Circle thanks to Wynne, but he is not what I would call a mage leader. If anything Fiona if most likely to be killed off because she is the Grand Enchanter. That would leave us with the choice of putting Rhys or Adrian as the new Grand Enchanter. Plus, even they did try to kill off Rhys and Evangeline, Evangeline has Wynne's spirit that keep her from dying.

Except for the people that killed Wynne at Haven. Their Evangeline would be dead already.
Although, I do kinda dig the idea that we would have to choose between Rhys and Adrian to replace the mage leadership.

Who would choose Adrian? I guess maybe fanatical mage supporters, those with chantry/templar sympathies would probably try to wipe the faction out if we can.

I would make more sense because it doesn't kill off one of the main plots in Asunder. Rhys and Adrian are not the heads of their fraternities so there is no need to be there. And, both of them are popular in the fraternities and have some respect with in the Enchanters.

You underestimate the amount of people that would, I think.
I WOULDN'T because Adrian was insane... but... you know.

Between Adrian, Rhys, Evangeline, and Fiona, Adrian's the only one I see as actually dying in the blast, and Adrian is mostly because of how her purpose in Asunder was essentially the same as Anders's was in DA2, and she fulfilled that. Rhys, Evangeline, and Fiona, though, are all sources of something that could be plot important - Rhys and Fiona are potential leaders for the mages, and Evangeline has the Spirit of Faith that sustained Wynne (and I figure that, if she didn't survive DAO, the Spirit came to her anyway). There are multiple factions of mages, I could easily see them in competing factions, either with or against Vivienne.

Not to mention the whole "Is Fiona Alistair's mother?" plot point that hasn't been resolved yet.
