Is there a way to end a romance in ME1?  I apparently at some point had Ashley decide I want to bed her, and the game only gives me options to go along with it.  Teach me to be nice.

Is there any point in the game where I can end the relationship, as my Shepard was suppse to be a Bachelor.

A romantic picnic on Virmire is the best place to tell her you just want to be friends.

The lower options at the moment are mostly like "I shall take cold showers" instead of "Hot Damn!"  Or asking her why she wants to have a drink with me instead of anyone else.  And she just calls me an idiot.  I dunno, I feel a bit railroaded, but we shall go have a picnic on Virmire!  Whatever that means, that was my next world anyways.

Well what I did was say to Liara I just want to be friends, you can normally do that after Noveria. Then you kill off Ashley on Vermire. Sorted! XD

Well I believe you can tell her that you are not interested when she wants to 'bunk with you' thus ending the romance possibility. 

And a picnic on Virmire is so drastic.

I loaded a save form Virmire, killed my LI (Ashley) but then... it appeared that Liara was my LI, even though I was engaged only in romance with Ashley and when confronted with both of them I chose Ashley. Strange, isnt it? I have just one more save from Noveria- should I use it and try to screw Liara after Noveria? Is it when you are confronted by both LIs? (I mean- after the last "big mission"?)

If you speak to Liara after Noveria, that is you have spoken to her after each mission before then she will say how she is interested in her. Then you can say I am interested in Ash then say I want to be friends. When Vermire comes up kill off Ash and you should be single. Because Ash is dead and Liara thinks you just want to be friends. Done. XD

hm I did and now she asked me:
"I thought there might be already a relationship between you and Chief Williams"

what should I answer to end the romance with Liara? on the right I have: "Ash is special", "It's not serious", "It's private"
and to the left "You are an alien!"

EDIT:
The real possibily of ending the romance is in the next dialogue choice. I solved it myself.

Or the first one. If you say "Ash is special" you tell her in fact, that you don't love her, but ashley, she should back out after that.

After picking "Ash is special" I always got the catfight moment in the com room.

How far are you through the game? If it is after Vermire, and Ash is alive, then you will get that moment.

Not playing currently, but if my memory serves well, it happens after 2 main planets done.

Odd. I have never got the fighting sequence so im not totaly sure, but I always thought it happened just before Ilos, I always made my intentions clear. XD

Romance Liara. Ashley wont have anything to do with sharing you. It's easier to let Liara down later.
