those powers where a single cast can both prime and detonate

I was not speaking of power both priming and detonating, but those who prime and detonate or detonate and prime with a single cast
?!?
?!??!
Hum OK, I get your point. I think I have been misguided by Singularity, since it can't detonate on impact, but after a period of time. And then, the target is no longer primed...

I'm not sure if it works with the same explosion, but different explosions work. (I.e. Incinerate Overload Incinerate=FE and TB.)so a incinerate carnage incinerate sequence gives U 2 FE ?
I am not sure about SF anymore either, time to go to the library

Biotic sphere, with warp, will definitely detonate and then re-prime in one cast, but I don't think it works that way for a lot of the other powers named here. It definitely doesn't work that way for incinerate and overload.

Overload + Incinerate = Tech Burst
Incinerate + Overload = Fire Explosion
It depends on which one is cast first that...

Yes, they do.
Pretty sure they don't. ![]()

Yes. If you start the chain with incinerate then you get an FE on every second cast, so incinerate primes and overload detonates but does not re-prime. If you start with overload you get a TB on every second cast, so incinerate is detonating but not re-priming. If they were detonating and re-priming in one cast then you would get a combo on every cast after the first prime and Human Engineer would be the most op kit in the game.

Dida is right.
Overload > Incinerate > Overload > Incinerate will give the human engineer a tech burst, fire explosion then tech burst again.

If you're talking about powers that can prime and then detonate a target with a single cast, well... That's a lot rarer and the only power that comes to mind that could do that is sticky grenades with either incendiary or disruptor ammo...

OT: Any power (except Reave) which can detonate and prime will be able to do both in one cast under certain circumstances - As long as the power is detonating a different type of explosion to that which it primes for. For example, if an enemy is primed for a tech burst then warp will detonate that and prime for a biotic explosion in one cast. Or, if an enemy is primed for a cryo explosion then incinerate will detonate that and prime for a fire explosion in one cast.

Thanks to Aedolon's Justicar build I was able to use Biotic Sphere and Reave (and I am guessing the Warp III ammo helped) to blow up two (granted, already weakened) Scions. I had intially thought Biotic Sphere would be good for defense/damage reduction, but now I see it for the biotic death trap it ought to be.
Hey, it's just a generic Justicar build, no need to credit me for that. ![]()
Biotic Sphere is good for defense, but that kind of defese just isn't particularly effective way to play this game. And it did lose some of its defensive power with the introduction of Collectors, Dragoons and Geth Bombers.

It depends on what you mean. If you mean powers that can detonate and then prime, then there are quite a bunch of powers that can do that. Almost everything that can prime and detonate will do, actually, although it has to be for a different kind of explosion if tech (so no, incinerate -> carnage -> incinerate will not result in 2 FEs).

That was not clear to me anymore (and to other it seems ;p)... Not so many characters who can do this without ammo priming. HE obviously.

Yeah I think HE might be the only one able to chain that endlessly...

Oh yes, I forgot Lift Grenades. They can prime only on health so, usually, the target is already dead (it can work when Lift grenades is only at rank 1 or 2, without too many boosts to power damage).
I thought they only detonated combos on direct hits versus health as well? Kind of academic since the lift is rare anyways.

It's possible. The priming window on some powers are a little hard to pull it off with. Totally possible to chain TB and FE together with the HE as long as the travel time of incinerate doesn't miss the priming window of overload. It's going to depend on your CD and the travel time of projectile powers versus the priming window though.

Yes, LG's only detonate and lift on health. Which is why Stasis + LG isn't particularly awesome combo, and why you rarely see it actually lift anything else than dead bodies.

They actually have to directly impact the target though as well. AOE detonation will not detonate a combo either.

Warp ammo doesn't actually prime for detonation. You can't detonate warp ammo. Warp ammo does increased damage against biotically primed targets. And against barriers and shields, I think.

I just tested this out with HE and indeed it does work. You can get a combo off every cast after the initial prime. I guess I never clued into it before because TBs are hard to spot and easy to screw up due to the narrow timing window.
