Batsent is one of the best kits in the game.  Most fun I had playing me3mp was the second match with 2 gotcha 1 gt after switching to venom batsent spamming shock wave.  Course in the second match I made a point of keeping the flaming idiots in front of me.

Best kit?  Cute.

His ability to hatesurf is worthy of much praise.

Otherwise all the other batarians are more powerful.*

This is how I like to play him:

Same build, but different weapons. It's a 3/6/6/5/6 power build.

I like Stacking Submission Net on bosses rather than Tech Bursting them, for Phantoms I like staggering them with the GPS then holding them in place with Sub Net to do whatever I like with them, TB/FE/Melee

GPS & CSMG

His weapon selection is very versatile as well, the randomizer chose the Revenant for me and I enjoyed using the set up. :)

That's a pretty cool build.. I'm gonna try that.

It's alot of fun. He lol's at cerberus and geth. A little slow bringing down bosses, but he eats mooks for breakfast.

I host a lot, and when hosting, fuck phantoms. Phantoms are so frustrating (to me, at least) on host that instead of doing U/U, I cycle thru the factions each game so I know when Cerberus is coming. So I use the batsent mainly as an anti-phantom unit with this build.  Crowd control and shield recharge all the things. The falcon makes landing sub-net 100x easier and the hurricane is only there for atlaii and guardians (and occasional turret). I have been thinking lately switching to the venom instead of the falcon so I can do some actual primary weapon damage (and that sweet, sweet shotgun omniblade) but I haven't really gotten around to it yet.

Electric Field is not active if you net armored targets.  The regular damage DOT probably stacks, I don't really remember if it was tested.

This is the build I use, and it seems pretty effective to me. Absolute stagger machine, escpecially against geth. I sometimes use a cyclonic mod and change to incendiary rounds, especially if I'm taking it to platinum.

Comments on Submission Net –

(1)  Submission Net does not do any upfront damage.  All of its damage is DoT.  There are two components – (1) the normal SN damage; and (2) the Electric Field (Rank 6b) damage.

(2)  The normal SN damage is stackable, meaning that the DoT damage from a SN will continue even if you cast another SN.

(3)  The Electric Field damage will only work if a target is trapped in the SN.  If you cast another SN, the first target is free of the trap and the Electric Field damage from the first SN will cease.  In other words, the Electric Field damage is not stackable.

(4)  Armored targets are immune to the grappling and incapacitate effects of SN and as such build up no resistance to SN.  Non-armored targets get trapped in the net for a shorter duration each time you use it on them and can eventually become immune to the grappling and incapacitate effects.  There is no change to the normal SN damage taken but the Electric Field damage will last for a shorter duration due to the shorter grappling and incapacitate effect.

Melee Batsent is pretty fun with this build. Who can pass up the chance to hate surf?

I just realized that if your not playing the BatSent with Subnet you're playing an inferior KroAdept. I usually always play him with Subnet only. Just a bit ago I tried with both for them 6x6 Teck Bursts, but I don't know, maybe me just not used to shockwave yet or something, cause I regretted it right away and went back to only Subnet without even giving it a chance. Then thought about going back to both again cause of this topic? Then realized that if I was both, the VorchaSent does it better and with all 66666 too, to boot. ;)

So I guess he's going to remain a Subnet weapon Platform. And the dmg of Subnet doesn't seem that bad for bosses either? Plus don't got to worry about Phantoms is a major plus.

The thing that really upsets me about the BatSent is that they made him and that Subnet in mind with the Harpoon gun, so I'd assume since both got released same DLC + was shown like that in the DLC preview. Only, they totally messed it up. Cause normally I, and I assume most others, hold the fire button when shooting with the index finger. But that right index finger is also needed for using the Subnet power on the right shoulder button. Forcing me to charge the gun with my middle finger, which I'm not really used to or ever will get used to? Thus making aiming pretty awkward. ... At least they fixed this issue with the VorchaSent, since Subnet is a face button. But when I play him, I keep turning blood lust off every now and then thinking it's subnet.... then I get hit by bees before I can turn it on again.

Flaw #2: When you Subnet an enemy, all of a sudden the hitbox on them changes. Because very many times I've aimed that harpoon gun point blank at an enemy right next to me, only to get a total miss. No matter how much I tried, I can't get an obvious headshots sometimes when an enemy is in subnet?

Oh well, he's at least still a Batarian, so it's really hard for me not to love him very much. Thus I think he's a very awesome character, even with just subnet. :)

Maybe if you play your Krodept with the Batarian Gauntlet and don't spec into Warp, then I guess so, sort of. But otherwise, no, not at all.

Ok, well how about this. Whatever the BatSent does, the 66666 KroAdept & Vorcha Sent can do better. :) ... But luckly just being a Batarian is enough for the BatSent.

BatSent and Vorcha Sent have absolutely nothing in common besides being both sentinels......

Lay off the peyote.

Yeah what on earth are you talking about? The Krodept has Shockwave in common with the BatSent, and that's it, and the VSent not even that.

I enjoy the hell outta the BatSent, even if I don't depend on his TB's, though I'll set 'em off every so often when the situations right.  Not enough damage output. I generally lay the net down for the unwary to walk into, particularly Phantoms...then shoot them in the head with a Raider or Graal.

Yeah, the KroDept is nothing like the BatSent. I think I replied in this thread, didn't I? I don't remember. Still, I go to town with the Venom that provides stagger and ammo priming, Shockwave for more stagger and ammo detonating, leave the Rank 6 behind, Subnet specced with Electric Field solely for crowd control, because Phantoms are sneaky, and maxed melee. On Gold. On Platinum, the melee is not that much of an option, but then again, I don't play him on Platinum. I prefer his cheesy brother, BatSol for that difficulty. Gold though? He makes it FUN! Especially when a Possessed Abomb humps you and you have Blade Armor on. Fuuuuun.

I think you mean the vorcha engineer? Either way, stop comparing legitimate builds to glitched ones, it's neither useful nor helpful.

I think q5tyhj and co have already said what I think about comparing different characters.

My Krogan Shaman and Batarian Sentinel don't play the same.

Krogan Shaman detonates barrier and sets off the best BEs.

Batarian Sentinel is a pretty tanky guy that can run around detonating ammo combos or those setup by teammates.  Since I don't care about the BE's as much, I take Reach on Shockwave.  He is actually a decent character for random games.

Yeah, that's one setup I like to run on my BatSent. Subnet and Harpoon gun. Probably a main reason I prefer subnet on him? But because both subnet and charging the harpoon gun are on the right shoulder buttons, my first shot always ends up going without subnet help, then if I miss or not, I sub net same enemy or subnet another one then charge up while lining up a headshot and releasing when it's lined up. Regardless of how full the charge is. But for the Vorcha, I have the option of firing first. With only annoyance on him being him roaring every now and then and not using right dodge as a cancel reload anytime thing, since he has a right dodge unlike the Batarian. So for canceling reload on the Vorcha I always use the subnet or incinerate or while these powers are still in cooldown mode.

I actually really like these two pretty underappreciated kits quite much. :) In the Vorcha's case, he may be the only Vorcha I even like at all? ... Until & unless I turn into an Flamer player one of these days? ... Should mess around with them other two Vorcha's and actually spec into flamer and see what happens? It's been ages.

Venom BatSent is totally legitimate on Plat, especially against Cerberus, since he's a mook-killing machine and Cerberus is mostly mooks (and he can still be very melee-centric as a result). Usually I'll bring a sidearm (Hurricane) though, to deal with the bullet-sponge bosses that are the only thing he struggles with.

BatSent is highly underrated. I prefer him on Plat over any of his brothers. He is not a DPS monster but highly relaible, he has simple but effective tools against anything. You need a good gun, I prefer the crusader, but claymore, raider, etc can do the job. Basically there are two types of enemies: armoured and without armour. For the later type either just shot/headshot or use subnet to catch the sneaky ones then headshot; for armoured targets use shockwave to stagger then headshot/shot, repeat as long as necessary. Crusader fits him well because subnet gives easy headshot opportunities.

I agree with that first sentence 110%... But you prefer him over the adept or the soldier on Platinum?
