Is anyone else a bit concerned?

In DA:2 one of the side missions involved a rescue of Nathaniel Howe in the Deep Roads. On the mission it is revealed that Howe, who is accompanied by Hawke's sibling if that sibling was sent to the Wardens, was on a mission to retrace Hawke's Deep Roads expedition. The First Warden had a great interest in the Primeval Thaig and sent Howe to lead an exploratory mission there.

Given that we know that Red Lyrium has dangerous affects on peoples' sanity, and that at least some Wardens appear to be enemies in DA:I, is anyone else worried that whatever those enemy Wardens was up to might be linked to Red Lyrium from the Primeval Thaig? And that it could potentially affect Howe or Warden Hawke?

*blink* As if I wasn't already worried about Nathaniel. The red lyrium exposure hadn't even occurred to me.

It would be cool if they did something with Nathaniel or Bethany/Carver but there are too many variables that make it unlikely...

Nathaniel could have died in Awakening and since you won't be able to directly import a DA:2 save, it would be virtually impossible to correctly import your Hawke's version of Bethany/Carver, seeing as they have visual/racial differences. I don't foresee them making a cameo at all...

But I always liked Nathaniel's character and loved rescuing him in DA:2.

True, but the fact that Nathaniel and his quest weren't available in DA:2 if you imported a save where he died in Awakening makes me think his death is somehow more final... But I could be wrong!

The potential alternate appearances of Hawke's siblings are indeed a problem that might rule out either one returning. But I don't think Howe's potential death in DA:A will have any impact on whether or not he returns for DA:I. After all, that potential death didn't prevent Howe from getting a cameo in DA2.

(...) since you won't be able to directly import a DA:2 save, it would be virtually impossible to correctly import your Hawke's version of Bethany/Carver, seeing as they have visual/racial differences. (...)

Is that confirmed, though? Because that would suck and majorly so. I always thought the Keep would provide something of an Alternative Way to create a World State / or to fill out Choices not made (because not having played one Game). If it is indeed completely replacing Save Importing, then I would not want to see either my Warden, my Hawke or Hawke's Family back.

Nathaniel however, is fine by me in every Case. He doesn't have to be that plot important, but since the Wardens play a Role in Inquisition I could easily see him making some sort of Cameo if he's alive, just like in DA2.

If Save Importing and thus importing the Appereances of both Hawke, the Warden and Hawke's Siblings is possible, then I could also expect Grey Warden Carver or Bethany to show up - although that wouldn't be the Case in my World States, since I never take them to the deep Roads.

If I am supposed to kill Nathaniel or either of the Hawke siblings, I will be greatly upset.

I'd like to see Howe again. Hopefully not in the context of having to bump him off though. The sibling not so much.

I think Nathaniel might be my favorite character in all of Dragon Age, which was very unexpected. There was nothing that stood out about him to me on the surface, but his character growth was very compelling. It saddens me that he never had a more important role.

Haven't thought about that...hmph...Well I doubt the Wardens will get much trouble from the red lyrium but it looks like they are on something in DAI.

you have to remember, bartrand had the lyrium idol for a year or so (not so sure when he sold it) before selling it to meredith.  Just a brief walk through the thaig wouldnt do much unless they broke down and started licking the crystals.  If we see nathaniel and the hawke sibling, it wont be as enemies.  Bioware doesnt like us having to kill our old companions as random npcs without a chance to save them (jack in me3).

Howe never made it to the thaig.... He was several days away from it in fact.

I'm not sure if this will even get mentioned, since a lot of people killed Nathaniel and a lot also didn't turn their Hawke siblings into Wardens.

Nathaniel aside, i always turned my siblings into wardens.  Then again i played my games mostly neutral not on mage or templar, so putting them on one or the other never made sense to me.  Plus them being a warden makes way more sense then them being killed cause i sided with one group or the other.

I am interested to see how the red lyrium is going to play out in DAI. I generally send siblings down the Templar/Circle route rather than the Warden one so i'm more worried about Templar Carver fate in regards becoming Red Templar than Warden siblings exposed to the substance.

neither of them are  really important to anything related to DAI IMO, and with their possible different fates in the previous games, there's no need for them to show up,

Personally, I always hang Nathaniel in Awakening.

I'd rather not see him (or any of these "killable" NPCs) again in DAI.

I think there is possible to see one of Hawkes sibling. If you choose them to become warden. When u storm warden keep , as enemy. Or she/he could be info provider to blackwell. Actually with siblings many options and cameos possible.

Thinking about Nathaniel, could you People also imagine seeing People like Sigrun or Velanna or (*gasp*) the one and only Oghren back - People who also may be Grey Wardens and possibly alive?

Because, I would love to see at least that Dwarf back (I suppose that's because I play with german Dub and he sounds much less like a creepy pervert with the German VA). Sigrun and Velanna have somewhat slimmer Chances to survive, but I manage to do that anyway most of the Time.

I highly doubt any character, Nathaniel, Bethany/Carver, or anyone will exist just to have them killed off, unless it's a particularly powerful role. That's something I doubt they will be given, since Nathaniel can be dead, and Bethany/Carver can be dead, or even not in the Wardens.

I'd like to read/play an EU satirical 'buddy-cop' story of Nate and Carver. Call it 'Hawke & Howe' and give it some deep roads themed subtitle.

(Speculation) I'm pretty sure the Wardens are being corrupted by Corypheus, who is now "possessing" Larius/Janeka. Red Lyrium is probably making some Templars go mad trying to get their fix, I doubt they'd make Red Lyrium drive the Wardens mad too since they have no use for Lyrium.

Not to mention, Red Lyrium only drives people insane if they carry it with them for a long time. Meredith had her sword for months (maybe years) until she finally lost all her sense. Bartrand too.

Then again, I could be wrong. Lyrium sings, its a song heard by spirits and by those corrupted by Red Lyrium (like Bartrand, he wants to hear the song again) which is strangely familiar to the song the Darkspawn hear, calling them to search for the Old Gods.

I would love to see the Awakening cast back. It would be nice to encounter another group full of badasses. I hope the Inquisition won't be the sole force "fighting evil" and being good at it.

And German Oghren? I have to youtube that!

Along with Circle Bethany and Sebastian :P

In either case Bethany deserves a Prince B)

Although she could have been smitten with Leliana in Lothering
