To me, Cole's hair looks much the same as I recall of fellow soldiers in the field for days. But it has been decades, so I shall ask if any vets out there can confirm this as a 'Bivouac Bouffant'.

I'm mostly annoyed that all the female companions have short hair. Vivienne - sure, I'm down with that. Cassandra? Yeah, that's fine. She was already established that way in DA:2 so I've got no complaint. But Sera? I loved her concept art. So there I was, looking forward to the finished product and...wtf? Short hair! Again!
They didn't even attempt an up-do style which, let's be honest here, it's not that hard.
My bitterness stems of course from the fact that I loathe short hair.
Nothing mods can't fix! Hopefully someone can crack the Frostbite engine because I don't think anyone has figured it out thus far.
Head hair, maybe, maybe not.
Rumor, however, suggests that Bioware has taken over the old Square Hawaii render farm to individually render and fully animate 60,000 hairs on Varric's chest.
'Tis true. I'm willing to wager that the best looking hair will be the hair on Varric's chest.

It's just a matter of fixing the textures, so all we have to do is unpack the assets and replace them.
An override folder would make this a lot easier.
Yeah the hair does seem to clash with everything else. I didn't really notice it until I saw Cole.

Ah. Cole and his, quote, mop of unkempt blond hair, unquote. Maybe a bit too heavy on a mop side of the description, but still, artists have done pretty accurate work. And it doesn't look half as bad as some people make it out to be.
I only hope I can have many short hairstyles for my female inquisitors too. I don't like long hair. Too banal on female characters.
I think is the first in a videogame where I'm very happy with the female companions styles.
My goodness, Cole's hair does look pretty atrocious in the desert shot. On the other hand, he looks unhealthy and a bit corpse-like. Maybe bad hair is one of the side-effects of possession by a Fade spirit.
If a corpse-like, dead man walking-aesthetic is their objective with this fellow, why not go and show it with his hair-style, too? Loose, sketchy strands, a generally more unwashed condition than is suggested by these shots. Not dissimilar to how they went about Larius in Legacy is what I would prefer.
Cole's hair looks like he lathered it with hairgel, and then combed it flat, plastered to its face. Does dirty hair really do that ![]()
I'm also hoping for better hairstyles; I hated almost all of the styles they had in DA2. However, I'm not too concerned about Cole or Sera's hair. Bioware seems to want to give the companions stylized looks.
Well, I'm used to pretty much ignoring hair by now. I would love more realistic hair ... moving hair ... things like that, but I refuse to let something as unimportant as hair spoil my mood.

Yes especially when you first wake up and if you were all sweaty it stays plastered to your head (personal experience)
I would love a stylish bob hairstyle or maybe some shaggy/wavy/curly hair.
It doesn't have to be long just well done.
I guess that's why we have three bald companions this time ? But yeah, some of the hairstyle seems a bit weird depending on the lightning from what we've seen so far, but that's honestly not THAT big a deal.
definately getting a hat for Cole but Sera's is actually growing on me it has an unkept waifish look about it
Sera's hair paired with her eyes... you know in my perception this is how ****** looks like. don't know why, just have this feeling.
other than that, Cullen lost something in his looks and as a character, again because of hair i think.
Cullen doesn't seem to have his ramen-noodle curls. I think I miss them, but I'm not sure.
Hair and skin look definetely weird.
