Problem with sniping

I play on the PC. Many times when I am about to shoot with my sniper rifle scoped, my Shepard goes back to cover before I can take the shot, even though I haven't let go of the right click mouse button. It's extremely aggravating, because I can barely properly shoot with the sniper rifle.

I'm wondering if this is a problem with my mouse? Because a long while back, when I was playing with my Soldier, I had zero problems sniping, and I think I had a different mouse at the time. Nowadays, with my new mouse, whenever I use a sniper rifle, whether it's in MP or SP, on my Infilitrator, or my Vanguard, shooting with any sniper rifle is a pain in the ***. I'm lucky if I get to shoot through the scope before my Shepard returns to cover. And no, it's not like I take a long time scoping either, I'm probably better at sniping now than I was with my Soldier. This really just shouldn't be happening

I just think this is such a bizarre problem to have, and am wondering if anyone else has experienced something similar due to their mouse or whatnot. My mouse is awesome for everything else, I really don't want to get a new one just cause of this  <_<

Will post same question on tech support forums, but I doubt anyone actually looks at those lol...

Hmm, I have a similar problem recently. But I thought it's just low batteries, as that has always been the reason as of yet.

No, but that is because when I broke a mouse with Mass Effect it was the left button that died. :)

You think that's bad? Try dealing with auto aim. You see a Brute with 2 bars left and line up a shot... only for the scope to snap to a swarmer 12m away.

Batteries? Didn't think of that cause my mouse is pretty spankin new, also didn't think battery strength could affect gameplay like that. I'll def give it a try though. Thank you for the replies so far.

OMG... I just killed my Razer Naga Molten this morning because of that... I suffered from a bit of rage. But I had been having strange issues with it for a while. It was wireless.

Yah, I sometimes have this problem.  It's usually when I'm aiming, see something either aiming for me or coming right for me, let go of the right mouse button, and then automatically right click right after that.   It sounds kind'a strange but, it all usually happens in the span of about a second.

I would check my batteries or RF signal if you're using a wireless.  If it's not?   I would return it, or just buy another one depending on how much it was.

Had the same issue a couple years ago. Got a new mouse and the problem went away.
