Did you look in your Screenshots/User folder for the screenshot?
Were you thinking about using Rael in place of Lina? That would work well, by the way. I'm just asking. If so, and if you wanted me to use the face you created with the character creator, you would have to send me your save game folder so I could pick apart the saved game using PYGFF and get the sliders to make a head morph. Or you could just upload an image and I could try to create it from scratch.
There's nothing in my Screenshots/User folder for some reason and I've fiddled with it quite a bit. I have the game modded like crazy, though, so that might be the problem.
I'd love it if you wanted to use Rael intead of Lina! Let me know what you need and I'll send it to you. Would I have to somehow do it unmodded tho??

Honestly, it might be easier to simply take a picture of the screen with a digital camera or a mobile phone and either upload it to photobucket or email it to me.
I've got a lot of appearance mods, but I would like to try to limit the number of mods a player would have to use. So far, the required mods are "Pineappletree's Vibrant Colors" and "More Hairstyles." I'll probably have to add one to give Athrian a scar.

Ohhhh, he's perfect! Even without freckles!! I'm gonna be messaging you today about him, btw. I've been doing things from my phone all weekend stop messaging gets tricky.
I'm glad you approve!
With three of us working on the writing, we're probably going to need to come up with some way to share and communicate while minimizing the danger of erasing what someone else writes. We could create a group or use Google Drive or some other cloud storage system. Thoughts?

I only used those two you mentioned I think. Here's her picture:

I could make Athrian's too, if you want. But it might be easier for you to do it.
I made that one folder and shared it. We could just use that and I'll share it with Chachi.

Here's a link to the folder... Anyone with a link can edit it.

I don't think we'll be able to create documents in your Google Drive, though. Buuut, we can all create our own mod folders, and set the access to "Anyone with a link can edit" and then share the folders.
Here is the link to my mod folder. It contains remnants of an aborted fanfic, but whatevs.
She's very pretty indeed! I've got an elf-ears mod installed, so her ears may actually stick out beyond her hair. I'm not sure I'll be able to make her look *exactly* like that, but I hope to get pretty close. I'll post the results as soon as I can. Am I correct in assuming that her hair is a dark auburn and her eyes are a deep blue?
Edit: It looks as if it's possible to create items in someone else's shared folder. Would you mind doing that? Creating documents or sub-folders in my mod folder? You can add my mod folder to your Google Drive by clicking the "Add to Drive" button on the top left corner of the screen.

I moved my folder to yours (the Athrian dialogue)

Alright, this is my first round at creating Rael's headmorph with the toolset. I'm not at all happy with it. The jaw needs to be wider, the face needs to be less gaunt, and there needs to be a lot less acreage between her chin and her mouth. I'm also not entirely thrilled with her haircolor. Back to the drawing board.

She's pretty! Just shorten the chin maybe? I tend to fill out the cheeks for elves because they look so malnourished otherwise...

I can do that! How's this? Not the best camera angle ever, but you get the idea.

Looks great! You bunch of talented people!
I can write stories/background/characters/yadieyada, but not mod at all.

If you can write character dialogue or quest dialogue, you can mod. I can handle the coding. There are still several characters up for grabs, and there's nothing to say that Falon couldn't become a dwarven rogue. I wanted 3 Dalish in the party, but I'm not sure that's really practical, and of the three, Falon grabs my imagination the least. ![]()

Rael looks great! Thanks! I saw your comments and I'll be doing a bunch of edits when I have a moment!

Btw, can one of you two please walk me through the Google thing we're doing? I'm not sure how to do much of anything on there, really, lol.
In the meanwhile, I'm just typing up what I come up with in a word doc.
Google Drive is a cloud storage system where anyone with a gmail account can create and edit documents, spreadsheets, etc. You can also upload files of other types such as image files or archives. The upload transfer speed is terrible, but what do you want for free?
The first thing you would need is a browser that can handle Google Drive. Most modern browsers can, but if you're still using Internet Explorer 6... well, if you're still using IE6, I'm surprised the BSN will even load for you. I like Google Chrome because I'm impatient and pages tend to load very quickly with it, but it does have some drawbacks, such as the inability to block IntelliText, the way you can with Firefox.
If you're still with me, you need to install Google Drive, depending on your browser. If you're using Google Chrome and signing in with your gmail account, it's part of the package. If you're using Internet Explorer, you may have to install an add-on. If you go to drive.google.com and it asks you to install Google Drive before proceeding, you have to do that before you can. But If you've been following my links and viewing the things I've posted, you should be good to go.
To create a document in someone else's drive, make sure you're signed in, navigate to my google drive, and click "Create". A dropdown menu will appear. Select "folder". It will warn you that the sharing properties will be the same as the parent directory. That's good. You want that. Right-click on the folder you just created and hit "rename". Type in "Chachi's stuff" or something so I know it's yours. Left-click on the folder to open it. Click on the the "Create" button and choose "document". Open that, and copy/paste in the text from your Word document. Google Drive saves automatically. Just be aware that others can see what you type. It has a cool feature that I just found out about on Sunday when I accidentally pasted over an entire dialogue and couldn't get it back. If you click "Revision History," it will let you revert to an earlier saved version of the document. Thank the Maker. You should also be aware that if you copy/paste in huge chunks of text - like 20 pages' worth - Google Drive WILL crash, but can you blame it?
And that's really all there is to know about it. I like it and use it a lot for modding because I can access my files no matter where I am or whose computer I'm using. I just don't store anything sensitive there. Mods aren't really sensitive material. Unless the mod is done, nobody really cares but the writer.
(Edit: Oh, and you may occasionally see other people viewing your topics. They will get cute little icons at the top of the screen, and aliases such as "Anonymous Squirrel" or "Anonymous Liger". Which is better than the way it used to be, I suppose. Back in the old days, everybody was "Anonymous User," which made it interesting when my German modding collaborator would view my files because she would show up as "Anonymous Nutter" because that's German for "User," apparently. It means something completely different in English, but I suppose that might be applicable too, in some cases.)

If you're thinking about writing a character, but you're afraid to take the plunge, you may want to take a look at this list of suggestions for getting the most out of dialogue. It explores the different ways in which writing mod dialogue differs from writing fiction, among other things. Some points may seem absurdly obvious. If they do, good.

LOL, I'd go for 'anonymous nutter' too
Actually, 'user' would translate to 'Benutzer', so I guess it was on purpose? 'Nutter' is not really a German word, as far as I know.
I really want to check out the character writing, but I am drowning a bit in things to do vs amount of time available at the moment... So feel free to skip me if you want to have it done within a short amount of time.

Sorry, it was "Nutzer". Blame my memory. My brain must have substituted something humorous.
If you think this is something you'd like to do, leave your options open. It will be a long time before I am ready to start writing characters.
As I said, I've got at least 5 exterior levels to make before I can start on quest dialogue and cinematics, and exterior levels are excruciatingly slow to build. I might be able to use a random encounter area for one and a modified party camp level for another, and a third is a modified, night-time version of Vintiver, which is already underway, but that still leaves 2 exterior levels which must be created from scratch in their entirety. There are also two interior levels, but they generally are a lot faster and easier than exterior levels. It doesn't help that I've been swamped at work.
No, wait. That level count is wrong.
- Arbor Inn - 3 levels (1 scratch, 1 existing, 1 modified existing)
- Blacksmith Shop - 1 level (modified existing)
- Vintiver - 3 levels (1 scratch, 2 modifications of that)
- Fuldor Farm - 4 levels (scratch exterior, scratch barn interior, existing house ground floor, existing house second floor)
- Encounter areas - 3 levels (probably existing)
- Camp - 1 level (modified existing)
- Ruins - 2 levels (scratch exterior, scratch interior)
Ugh.
Using existing level art (using the floor plan for the Redcliffe Tavern as a stand-in for the Arbor Inn) is dead easy and takes mere moments. Depending on the modifications required, altering existing level art is easy, too (it doesn't take long to change the light settings for nighttime areas, nor would it take long to remove the tents from the party camp and add, say, a half-dozen aravels). Making an interior level from scratch is more work than that, but it goes quickly. Making an exterior level from scratch is tedious in the extreme.

Well, the number of levels I needed for Fuldor's Farm increased dramatically, but they're mostly reused areas, so no great hardship. The farm exterior level is done, as are all of the farm interior levels except the smokehouse and the barn. The smokehouse is small, so it should go quickly, but the barn... yikes. Maybe... hmm. There might be a way I could avoid making it at all, but I don't know how cheesy it would be. I'll have to ask your opinions when we get to the relevant part of the game.

Got the smokehouse done! I'm so frickin' proud of it, it isn't even funny. Which means that I should probably revisit Vintiver soon, or maybe sort out the lighting on Fuldor's Farm. That needs help, and lots of it.

The barn interior turned out to be a LOT easier than I anticipated. I decided to use the Chantry tileset for the walls, and that helped tremendously.
