Do you need to here you are right?

Yes, you are right. There is no actual Evidence about Cassandra liking Women.

However, if we go by FACTUAL Evidence, meaning shows of Attraction from Cassandra towards other People of either Gender, there is next to none. But please, if we are about to argue about what qualifies as "cassandra showing Attraction towards other People", we should do it elsewhere, I believe.

Not trying to argue about it. Im just pointing out you have no evidence to back up your claim she likes women . Theres not much for men but we have a little bit. And your the one that started this by replying to me so lets leave it.

I did claim she likes Women? That's new to me. Didn't I write that I think she's straight?

Well, I might have tried to formulate it ambiguously. So it was a Misunderstanding, alright. Moving on.

Uhm, If you want to talk about pandering..let's talk about the past 20 years of almost 100% pandering to straight men; and how it has created a sickening, and abusive culture towards women and LGBT. Pandering to gays and bisexuals, did not cause an entire generation to be ashamed of enjoying something, simply because they lacked a Y chromosome.

Can we please calm down and keep this discussion within the context of Bioware/Dragon Age without derailing it by turning into a socio - political sermon/debate? I just find that it sets of very strange precedent that it be mandatory for 4 out of 6 companion characters to be LGB from here on out assuming the 2-2-2 approach is what they are going with, which a lot of of people seem to believe will in fact be the format set forth. I guess you can argue that it's somewhat of a step back in a way considering all romance options in DA2 fell under the LGB category  (excluding the dlc companion).Note that I left out the T as there has yet to be a companion character romance or otherwise yet no one seems to mind or care much about that interestingly enough. As I said I believe a solution from keeping this from feeling overly forced is by expanding romance options beyond companion characters. They have already done this with ME3 and I thought that was a good idea as it helps to avoid a noticeably unrealistic cluster of LGB companion characters while still presenting more options.

4/6 people in a random group being LGB is not "unrealistic". Even in the real world, it's not some huge shock. I very often hang out with groups of more than 6 people that are entirely gay or bi. I assure you, not yet has any of us spontaneously combusted in order to keep the gay from reaching critical mass. We don't know that the demographics of LGB people are exactly the same in Thedas as in our world. It's entirely possible that there are more LGB people, generally, making the odds of having 4/6 even higher. We know it's much more accepted in Thedas. It doesn't seem such a stretch that it's also more common.

True but there have been hints she likes men but none about women.

There is no hint, none, nada, zero about Cassandra's interest in either gender in either DA2 or DotS. She does no flirt with anyone, she does not hit on anyone, she doesn't even respond to flirting attempts (she ignores them). DotS is all about adverting its own romance tropes, that is why it's the comic relief of the movie.

Also, there was a CassandraXLeliana shipper group before any other CassandraX? shipper group and that just because of DA2 ending cutscene.

There have also been no hints that Scribbles or Viv are bisexual and yet you made that assertion in the last page. I understand making guesses, but saying Cass is straight because there has been no evidence of her liking women is silly. A bisexual woman liking men is entirely within the realm of possibility for a bisexual woman, so keep that in mind.

Can we please calm down...

Their post seemed completely calm to me. Telling them to calm down kind of dismisses their argument, and it's a sort of valid one.

Even within the context of Bioware games, I think straight men especially need to take a few breaths and have some self awareness in that not only do we currently not know much of anything about any of our romance choices (so complaining and saying there are none you want is irrational), but in the past their wants and desires have usually always been "pandered" to while straight women and LGBT people have been left wanting.

I'm not implying this is a "haha now you get to see how it feels" situation, no one needs to be childish about it, but if women and gay people can play and enjoy these games while maybe not getting the romance they wanted, you guys can too for once.

It is not mandatory to have the "LGB" LI as companions. As you said, ME3 used non-companion LGB LIs and there is a good chance it will happen here too with the advisers. However, having a companion LI imo is more fulfilling than others (example: Traynor Vs Liara in ME). As Bioware stated, there will be choices for everyone, and I am sure they will try to balance LGB LIs with companions and other characters.

Well a person choosing to hang out with a specific demographic of people and  a person who just happens to find himself/herself in the company of of several random people due to various circumstances are very different things. Surely you can see that. There is no real indication that the fantasy world of Dragon Age has a significantly higher if at all percentage of people of LGB leanings so we can't just assume that. Do we know that it's much more excepted? Outside of the actual relationships themselves should a player choose to peruse one such relationships seem to be treated with a mild, unspoken tolerance at best as it hasn't come up enough to clearly determine.

I really hope they make Vivienne a straight romance option, just to see the butthurt of all the racist people on this website.

Hopefully we can get them all banned in one fell swoop.

Because then their romance options would be a black woman or a bisexual woman.

Yes, people have already grumbled about this.

I just hope they have brothels so I can have any male characters of mine relieve themselves of any pressure. Either that or this scribe girl (whoever the hell she is) better be good. After dropping the axe on Leliana, making Sera off-limits for male characters, and making Cassandra look like a total minger as of now, brothels might be the best thing there is to offer, and I do hope Orlais has a lot of them.

All of the characters from past games look noticeably less pretty in this game it seems, Cassandra, Morrigan and Varric....

Nah, see, Vivienne is a Strong Independent Woman™ who doesn't need a man!!!!!!!

(ugh, no, please, actually, I hope she's a love interest no matter what her sexual orientation, because this kind of thinking seems to be applied most often to black female characters)

Another day, another thread, another bunch of people who feel disadvantaged  by their gender or sexual orientation IRL spewing vitriol. Welcome to the Bioware Forums, be sure to try our Orlesian meatballs.

Sorry, I didn't realize light criticism is considered vitrol now.

We don't know anyone's sexual orientation aside from Sera, she was going with the assumption of Vivenne turning out to be straight and Cassandra being bi.

It is interesting to note that straight or bi, Vivenne will be the first black female companion character in a Bioware game ever and the first non white human companion character in a dragon age game. (i don't count Isabella because I remember what she looked like in Origins so i have to assume she simply got a makeover at the Black Emporium)

Well, If I remember right, Baldur's gate (and maybe NWN) had at least one.  Isabella's also supposed to be black, but the engine for DAII was apparently awful for showing off different skin tones.

NWN didn't have one unless you count the Drow as black, lolol.

More of a matter of personal taste I guess. I think Cass looks a lot better in DAI and more realistic too. Same with Varric (although his hair color looks changed in most of the screenshots) and Morrigan looks the same to me with better skin due to the engine. Male inquisitors should feel lucky to have Cass.  :)

Edit: Assuming she is straight/bi of course..

I think a lot of it actually has to do with the improved graphics as well.  Due to the improvement, it also allows devs to put in more flaws into the way the character looks instead of looking as....."clean" as they did in the previous engine.

Exactly, that's why I said more realistic. You can't expect a warrior to not have scars etc or even older than before... same for others as well.
