Wynne annoyed me to much in Origins, so I kept her out of my party and specced Morrigan as a healer with the respec mod.

I actually specced Anders as a damage mage and made Velanna my healer in Awakening since I liked Velanna more.

In DA2 My PC was the healer since I hated Merrill & Anders lol

This time round' I think I may actully like Vivienne and make her my healer

Could Merill even learn any healing spells?

Vivienne seems the most likely as the speculation is Solas is a rift mage and Dorian is a dreamer.  She's also probably an early recruit.  Although, something about Dorian being the opposite of every other magister in Tevinter, it might be him.  I find it interesting that his color appears to be white, the color of peace and safety.

 Everything in my mind points to Dorian being more towards supporting.

I think they just put those skills the the creation and spirit trees. It would be nice to have a set healer. But, if they fused the trees than you could have a bigger spell mix. All you would need is a reset potion and you can use any mage.

I'll just take Vivienne and Dorian, get myself stabbed and then bleed all over until one of them gets tired of the mess and gives me a bit of healing. That will be my healer for the game.

Could Merill even learn any healing spells?

She had a spell that healed herself, I believe, but nothing else.

Vivienne would then get whatever spells contradicts her as same as Dorian and Solas, for a small laugh.
