I wanted to go as well but for round trip its 750 CAD not including hotel which is then another 500 CAD (roughly) so ya for 2 to 3 days too expensive
From twitter I know that Patrick and Karin Weekes from Bioware will be attending as con goers (not as guest panels) it would be very neat to meet them ![]()

Well, because there are only three more women possible: Cassandra, Scribbles, and Vivienne. If they have all females romancable, I see them making 2 bi and the third straight since they are all about wanting to give everyone options. If they don't, that goes down to two. And we need one straight and one bi.
Why do we need one straight and one bi? Everything romance related is complete fan speculation, other than Sera being gay.
We have no idea at all if it's 2/2/2 or any other made up romance systems that fans spew out. With Sera being gay, there is absolutely no need for a bisexual female companion. Have Cassandra be straight, and it's even.

I know that Bioware is going t o be there judging from their schedule list. I'm kind of expecting the m/m romance to be officially confirmed there. Should be great for those LGBT gamers out there ![]()

It's a little far for me being in a whole other hemisphere and all but I'm hoping to see forum posts on anything new released there.
And yeah hopefully they confirm the m/m option and that some of the other ladies and gentlemen will be bi that would be nice.

I've never heard about this convention and I just can't help but think that its a bit unnecessary to have a LGBT gamer convention but oh well, I guess I'll go since it's only about an hour drive for me. ![]()

Given that Bioware is pretty much the only developer to acknowledge that we are actual people, I can see how some people would lika a dedicated convention.

You forgot about Obsidian.
I never really understood the whole gaymer thing myself. Do gay people not like playing games with straight people or something?

That I did! Although in my defence, everyone always forget Obsidian, regardles of subject.

I think it's more about raising awareness of the fact that there is a whole bunch of non-straight people playing video games and they like to be included sometimes. If they couldn't handle playing games with straight people it be pretty damn hard to become a gamer in the first place.

That's too far out of the way for me (like pretty much everything), but I do hope we get some solid information about the gay/bi romance options! Please do keep us informed. ![]()

You don't have to be gay to go to this convention, obviously.
From what I noticed last year, it was a great con to go to for straight girls too (esp cosplayers), because there was much less chance of being harassed by entitled straight male congoers. It was just an awesome, inclusive convention that acknowledged and celebrated the fact that non-straight (and non-male) gamers exist. And that Bioware attended (and is doing it again) tells me that Bioware really does care about that subset of gamers.
If you wonder why a con like this needs to exist, then you probably aren't an LGBT person. I AM and I didn't even know I wanted/needed this con to exist until I attended it and realized "Wow, this is how it feels to really enjoy a con, to feel welcomed and safe at a con".
As a queer artist who does LGBT-themed art, I've gotten pushback/homophobic comments from at least one con attendee at every con I've been to (over 40 different cons), with only 2 exceptions: Yaoi Con (a female-focused con celebrating m/m Japanese comics) and GaymerX.

What does this thread have to do with Dragon Age: Inquistion. Shouldn't it be in the off topic section?

In the same way that the e3 thread could be in this section: we could well receive new information about DA:I at the convention.

Well I was hoping to get people to discuss what new DA:I info we'd be getting at GaymerX, since Bioware and David Gaider are going to be there. I would guess/hope we'll learn some more about the gay/bisexual companions.
Maybe we'll find out who the voice actors are!

Scuttlebutt: Discuss rumors, convention coverage and social media surrounding Dragon Age: Inquisition
DAI will no doubt be featured at gaymerx, that's why its here. just like e3 really, but waaay smaller.

Gaymer culture is mostly around three things, in my experience: 1.) Celebrating and enjoying gay content in video games; 2.) Playing games with other gamers like you; and 3.) Having a "safe space" when playing online communities, in order to avoid the rampant homophobia that happens in a lot of multiplayer games.
I consider myself a gaymer, although I would put that after just 'gamer' in general.

Who says there's only one slot? They've never talked about numbers at all
If they make Cassandra a lesbian only love interest, that will leave straight male gamers with just Scribbles and Vivienne, and those two haven't even been confirmed as potential romances. So no, I think that at the bare minimum Cassandra will at least be bisexual.
Not that it really matters to me. I've basically decided not to romance anyone in the game. My inquisitor will just have to live vicariously through my Warden and his raven-haired wife.
