Where to Look and How to Find Them

So I've been doing up a few notes on where/when we'll find our companions (as many are apparently optional and entirely possible to be missed).

Cassandra

Likely our first and automatic warrior companion (comparable to Alistair and Aveline).  She will likely join us during or after the prologue quest where the Breach is opened.

Varric

If the trailer is any distinction, we will meet him while fighting demons somewhere - the where is the problem.  It is, however, possible that he will be our early on rogue companion (comparable to Leliana and himself in previous games).

Vivienne

She's throwing a party to get our attention and making us the guest of honour for the evening.  I have a feeling she will be our early on mage companion (comparable to Morrigan and Anders).  Last we heard of Vivienne (the first chapter of The Masked Empire and A Letter to an Ambassador) she was still in Val Royeaux and this is likely where the party will be held.

Iron Bull

It appears that the Iron Bull will come looking for us as part of an assignment from the Qunari.  It was said that he will be upfront and tell us he's part of the Ben-Hassrath and whatnot; I'd wager he'll come a knocking to Skyhold at some point.

Blackwall

"When the Inquisition tries to contact the Grey Wardens, they find Blackwall."  Well... that's that, I guess.  Just wait for it to become a plot point and then I expect we'll find him.

Sera

We will meet her "on the streets of Orlais," meaning she will likely be the one to seek us out.  Where, I would expect, to be in either Val Royeaux or Halamshiral.

Cole

Yeesh, now this is one that I'm wondering about. When we last seen Cole in the epilogue of Asunder, he was at the White Spire in Val Royeaux once more.  And that's it.  From there Lambert disappears and nothing is known of Cole.

It is possible he's still in the Spire, and as such if we have the option to investigate the Lord Seeker's disappearance or simply search the location where the war was set into motion, we may find Cole there.

Otherwise... well, maybe he'll seek us out, either because he wants to help people, or to try and kill us because Rhys probably died in the explosion at the Temple of Sacred Ashes, and he thinks we're responsible for it...

Dorian

No clue whatsoever.  He's a Magister from the Imperium, a location we won't be visiting (unless he's the exiled Magister Maevaris Tilani mentioned, but even then we aren't visiting the Anderfels either). As such it's likely he too will seek out the Inquisitor, or we will meet him in some part of the mage/templar conflict subplot.

Solas

Once more, no real clue.  He's an elven apostate so perhaps he's hiding out amongst the refugees in the Dales? Or maybe involved with the war so possibly in the Hinterlands?  It's possible we'll hear word of a specialist on the Fade and go seeking him out (hopefully with a good direction as to where).

Thoughts? Theories?  I intend to go into this game with as little knowledge as possible and will be blacking out soon, and missing companions is the only thing I've really been concerned with thus far.

I hope we can pick up our companions early. I don't want to have to rush through things, just to get the companions I want!

Cassandra:  Meet after exiting the fade (which im assuming would be a prologue mission, escape the fade if there is one)
and after our brief intro with her, demons start pouring out from the breach.

Varric:  While we (Cassandra and PC) are running from the demons trying to escape the area (possible prologue if fade thing doesnt work out), Varric will come in and do his raining demons line.  This makes the most sense to me as varric was traveling with cassandra after the events of da2.

Vivene:  They aren't going to leave us with an incomplete party to start the game, so more than likely we go from meeting varric straight into a mission introducing us to vivene.  We go to the party and something happens there where we would have to "run away," again maybe from red templars this time, and Vivene escapes with us.  This would lead right into free roam, since we now have a full party.

After that, it becomes about setting up and building the inquisition by establishing a base.  Then we have dossiers on persons of interest and go recruiting from there.

Iron Bull:  I highly doubt hes going to walk into our keep and say hey can i join.  More than likely he will appear in a dossier listing him as someone who has contacted the inquisition about joining and we have to go meet up with him.

Blackwall:  If its not the same as the Iron bull's then it will more than likely be we have to search for a missing warden or something in order to find a way to contact the order.

Sera:  Well, since its the streets of Orlais, she could just walk up and say hi.  I see it differently though, I see us going in search of someone aiding the people of orlais.

Solas:  Your guess is as good as mine, i think we will find him in the swamps while we go to look for the "fade expert," in our reports.

Cole:  I dont see a dossier for him, I see us investigating strange phenomena in an area and finding him.  (im just gonna call him scarecrow, he looks like the bad guy from the old batman cartoons in the early 90s)

Dorian:  Hear about him in a dossier as a person of interest, i highly doubt a former magister could leave tevinter without some word getting out.

Leliana:  Introduced by Cassandra

Cullen:  Hopefully found tied up, but I suspect it will be the same as leliana.

Scribbles:  Dont know

I'm going to need a guide on how to find them. I always end up getting characters super late my first runthrough because I can't tell what quests are recruitment quests.

I'm pretty sure the advisors come free with the castle. They're thrown in as a first time homebuyer's incentive.
