Wait wait, so you say everything will be ok but just with a little bit worse filtering/search options? That's great!
Well, I shouldn't commit to this but I'll try, if you want, I wouldn't call my self an expert but I know pretty well Drupal 6 and 7 (worked 3 years professionally with them) so we could take a look to create better views for filtering and everything else if you want.

More like, we are finally "taking it back" for the community! Power to the People! *Throws a Happy 60's Revolutionary Anarchist Love-in* ![]()
(It has been a long time coming, and the new vault actually gives us a much more modern user-friendly interface, and plus many new options)

I was kidding with the worse filtering by the way.
Anyway, as I said I worked with big drupal websites and if you guys need help, feel free to give me a shout.

It wouldn't be so bad but to redirect you to the wiki for the neverwinter mmo just adds insult to injury.

I'm just happy i religiously downloaded every tutorial and custom content tool i could... (if i was ever lost on an island with a laptop and nwn)
My suggestion for re-uploading old vault content (to those who backed it up) is to focus on the top 100s, hall of famers, and highest downloads first, hopefully with a priority request thread on the new vault forum for old entries current users want. (I know tilesets will be a big topic alone)

I just went to old vault, went to one of my entries and changed the description and the change was reflected in the page.
But it's basically dead http://neverwinterva.../jun/thats-wrap

that redirect thing is just another brainfa*t of these idiots. Over 10 years now we made that thing and not EA not anyone else so they should at least be humble and dont act like they dont know... he, we deserve the credits and the credits are OURS. NWN mmo is nothing and nwn REAL is the only game that deserves the name NEVERWINTER NIGHTS. Somehow I think some peeps from these companys are nothing more then some very sad figures with no honor that you achive trough a mod community in terms of free share and helping others.

Ah well, time to delete all those NWVault bookmarks going back to 2003.
“The Moving Finger writes; and, having writ,
Moves on: nor all thy Piety nor Wit
Shall lure it back to cancel half a Line,
Nor all thy Tears wash out a Word of it.”

In bookmarks you have important info: category and ID, so keep them - you will be able to find the entries easier in new vault, right?

Apparently once again, they moved it...
Well, it's not shut down, the DNS has been changed. You can still get to it by modifying your hostsfile and accessing the site directly via their server IP.
69.10.25.55 nwvault.ign.com
And snag what's really important to you before it's gone for good.

The issue though is that there is soooo much out there, and most of us wouldn't exactly know what we might want that we do not already have copies of.... sucks losing online resources. I certainly wonder how people lived back in the 1800's without cell phones and the power of the internet ![]()

That particular pass time has never gone out of style; unfortunately, it never will.

The new vault is great and all but...
Its structure is so poor that its almost impossible to realistically search for something there unless you already know what your looking for. The new vault itself is a wonderful wonderful idea and i FULLY support it but i can never find anything. The site itself needs redone or at least the organization structure.
The old vault was easy to navigate and that was its greatest strength.

Just an fyi the new vault is a free, paid, service by the administrator Rolo kipp. From what I gathered, he alone supports the website out of his own pockets. At this point its better to have one, and one so generously by a loving fan like Rolo, than to have to work with the Nexus or worse.
I cant say i know any other place that still supports vaults, like the old ign vault. it'd be nice, but i havent heard anything about new vaults. IGN said they'd fix the issue with The old Vault. But that was 5 months ago when they did

http://neverwintervault.org/about/who
Actually couple of folks made some donations.
Problem with the new vault is that only Rolo and Akin are currently messing with the site's code and thay do it in their own free time and aree not getting paid for it.
Simply we don't have a complete team working full hours.
Not to mention we work on transferring the data by automated means. That includes making better tag system with the tags being autofilled by the said bot.
I'm aware there are not as many labels by which you could search, but it is still a work in progress. (and some of those labels we inherited from oldie were messed up: for example module could not be dungeon adventure and final at once because it was 1-choice only field)

None the less, the layout is very convoluted and confusing at times. The nexus is very clear in comparison.

It's one of those things where there's not much that can be done unless you have time/knowledge or money. I agree, the old vault had categories, ratings, and even comments (even though they seem to be universally despised) that made it simpler to find something and know what you were getting. However, it is true having a Vault maintained by Rolo and others is already a blessing, and we can hardly ask them for more.

What might be best is to take some of the automation out of it and simply have new posters actually fill in the blanks in order to mimic the style of the old vault.
Old things could theoretically use there old vault tags (if they still exist). Granted that's a lot of if's but its a good start or at least jumping off point for thinking of an organization structure.
