Developers, just ask marketing for permission to release the full romance list already. >_>

Romance speculation dominates these boards so hard, and if we had a definitive list of romances, we could move on to more frequent talk about how pretty the game's graphics look or speculating on other things like specializations or combat trees.

The romances ALWAYS leak before you guys actually release the game anyway, so I don't know why you guys keep them hidden when the entire main cast has already been revealed. ME1, ME2, ME3, DA:O, DA2, look at the marketing campaign for all of these games and you'll see that in every single case, the romances were leaked out before the official release. Wouldn't it make more sense to release this information yourselves, in a controlled fashion, rather than have some website leak it out ahead of time?

you actually believe people would "move on" if they had this list??  There would just be more complaining/whining that they can't romance X or Y and that BW is forcing them to play a certain race/gender combo or that everyone should just be bisexual or ask why they can't romance nugs or dragons... <_<

Well, "move on" is little strong, considering we still have people talking about romancing Leliana from Origins. After DA2's romances were leaked, there was a few days of overreactions and then the romance talk diluted significantly, as I recall. It was still around, but there was a lot more talk of other things from that point on.

I'd rather them release, ohhh i dont know, maybe gameplay features, system specs etc etc than romance options, romance options should be a thing left to be discovered by one self in game during a play through, much like story.

If they decide to tell everyone who can romance who fine, but for me it shouldnt be top priority, not even middle priority tbh

Which pixelated characters my pixelated character can have pixelated sex with is the absolute lowest concern that is on the list of things I care about in DA:I.

It would be interesting to know (to me at least) but honestly, for my first playthough at least, I would rather find out who I can and cannot romance with my 'canon' character by trying to do so in game.

I suspect that BioWare will release teasers and information in line with three factors:

  1. When the fact or information is firm (i.e. is not subject to change) and
  2. When its release generates interest and anticipation for the game without spoiling
  3. When its release prompts media interest (i.e. such as at the time of a show)

Beyond that, developer pleas (Biower pls... etc) is probably not going to generate a response and actually I'm with BioWare on that one.

I also suspect that the devs will be more than busy enough polishing the game to be fretting about what they can get past Marketing :-)

this as well. a major part of the fun , at least on the 1st playthrough, is to discover the story/characters and stuff. I'm already annoyed with myself that i can't stay away from these forums and already know all the companions for example. damn my weakwilled mind  :)

Please do not release the list unless you create a new forum for spoilers so people know what to avoid.

That's why I've pretty much avoided the Scuttlebutt and Story sections like the plague. I'll be slumming here in Feedback (which is usually feature focused) and Off Topic until October, I imagine.

You're naive if you think the romance-fanatics will stop making 100 threads a day about romances once the LIs are listed. It will in fact have the opposite effect where the servers will crash because of the amount of discussions on them once the information is revealed.

My guess is the will never release the full list until the game. Just because they don't wanna deal with the "WHAT DO YOU MEAN I CAN'T ROMANCE xxx" before the game is out

What did people do before internet forums and social sites, anyway? Wait patiently for information? Inconceivable.

C'mon guys, can't you stand at least a little mystery?

They already mentioned, once, that they intend to reveal romances before the game's release.  I think David Gaider doesn't like the idea, but personally I do.  I think people will get the hate out of their system about why can't they have X as character of Y gender--because the forums will indeed explode with negativity for a week or so once people learn they can't get what they want.  Then they'll move on to glee-ing over what they CAN have.

Can't we just skip to the gleeing part? Would be a lot nicer than complaining wouldn't it? Also agreed the sooner it comes out the sooner everyone can work whatever they need to about it out of their system and I would like to know about the romance list for my own reasons as well : )

I think you should let them decide for themselves. Bioware cannot help it when things get leaked. I don't think they should leak it just because there is a chance of it being leaked anyway. If we go by that logic they might as well just give us the entire plot. We have only four months left.  I don't think it's too much to ask to wait in that amount of time. But since they confirmed Sera you can most likely expect more info regarding romance in the coming months  ;)

I actually found this very humorous. OP wants to avoid future romance topic threads so makes a romance thread. I find it ironic and hilarious. :) Sorry it was just interesting. I'm here as well so I cant be any better myself.. ;)

I wouldn't mind knowing who I can romance before its time, or not. Honestly I read more on romance threads than other topics cause its one still speculated. Things like clothes wouldn't be bad to speculate but seen armor already, weapons are fairly known, skills and specializations still speculated. Some I will just wait and see though I saw gameplay already in several ways to like that aspect without needing much more. Curious about the conversation wheel in action and the ballroom dancing. :D

Bioware should just bring it out so people can plan there run. Plus its unfair right now that gay players have a li only for them and others don´t.

I do, heated reactions to Sera's status as a gay LI came and went, I belive it will be the same for the others LIs.

I think it might be good if they get through all the character announcements, but once that's done, I think they should go ahead and release the chart. It gives everyone some time to settle down and get used to the idea of romancing the options available to them.

Chart......chart.......chart......

please!

As for people who don't like spoilers - why are you on the BSN, then?

If you don't want spoilers - don't tread near spoiler territory! You can't pick and choose. ;)

Outside the BSN, you have to dig to find DA info. But here there is info posted everywhere, not all contain spoiler warnings anyway.

People who want to strategize their social aspects of playthroughs would benefit from a fully detailed romance chart. If you don't want to be spoiled then you are spending your free time on the wrong forums.

The reason I access the BSN is to find out more info, not to be sheltered from it.

So, please Bioware, post a romance chart. And if someone is angry for reading about it on the BIOWARE SOCIAL NETWORK then, well, let's analyze that train of logic.................................

Flawless summary.
