This thread is for showing off your rides.

I'm curious as to what kind of vehicles the BSN owns.

I used to drive a blue 1999' Chrysler Town and Country that was a handy down from my grandmother but it was having a multiple of issues, the engine would randomly shut off sometimes for example, the MPG I was getting in that car were just abysmal, but recently the AC just stopped working so I decided it was time to park it.

I ended up getting a base 2014 Hyundai Veloster (DCT).

So what do you drive?

Recently I have had a bout of nostalgia remorse about giving up my 1974 Dodge Dart sport a number of years ago.

I'll be ready for a new vehicle in another year or two and will be buying a truck, not sure what type just yet.

I'm still tweaking it. A friend of mine built it as a bridging vehicle. During combat two of these were supposed to jump over a river towing cables. There's a throttle that boosts it into a rampless jump. He never got the damn bridge to work, but the car works just fine.

2010 Hyundai Elantra.

Hi Leni! :D

Hi!

How's you're Elantra been? I was kind of nervous buying a Hyundai since my family has a bit of a tradition to buy Japanese cars, but the more research I did I found that I felt Honda's are possibly a bit overpriced and I don't like the look of their current line up. Same deal with Toyota's aside from the Corolla but I wasn't interested in getting a sedan (well there's also the Yaris but... eww no).  But I got a good deal on my Veloster and I've always liked the way it looks and drives more sporty compared to most other cars in my price range so I decided it was worth a shot with the warranty backing it up.

Hyundai has come a LONG way since they 1st appeared on the scene.  They make a number of very nice cars and the last few years have been pretty consistent with awards for them as well.

We like ours (S has a Sonata). It has been excellent value for the price paid. It gets really good gas mileage if you drive so that the green 'Eco' light stays on, so that is an excellent feature.

That Veloster looks like an excellent ride. :)

I'm not proud of the actual car, but I do like how long it's lasted.

1995 Honda Civic EX.

I've had to replace every part of the radiator system and half the exhaust, and had to re-cut the engine cylinders over the course of 5 years, but she's fine now, going to last another 2 years before I have to hand it in.

That and a Honda Rebel that I attempting to get started.

A sweet, classic 1997 Ford Escort with one rear-view mirror and busted rear window. It is good on gas but does 0 - 60 in about 30 min...   :P

I like the look of the Veloster, how is it?

I've only had it for two weeks now so I can't say much when it comes to reliability but I can say that I get better MPG then the listed estimates on the highway. Going 68-70 mph with cruise control and eco mode on the highway I get between 42-44 mpg.  The ride is a bit sporty, which can translate to a rougher ride on uneven roads but I prefer it to say the 2014 Corolla or the 2015 Honda Fit. (The Corolla felt heavier  and the Honda Fit felt like it was going to tip over)  If you're tall there's plenty of room in the front, but head space is limited in the rear seats. I love the interior design of the Veloster, and I love that unlike the Honda FIT and Chevy Sonic, it still has a traditional volume knob and CD player along with the standard touch screen.

If you have the money though I would go for the turbo engine. Too many times have I found myself stuck next to someone at a red light and they want to race me (seriously I've only had the car for 2 weeks and it's happened 5 times) and I just turn up my stereo (which is pretty good) and pretend I don't hear them because the base engine (while enough HP for my needs) doesn't really stand up to the expectations you get from the way it looks. Also I would opt for the sunroof too. I test drove a Veloster Turbo w/ Sunroof at the LA autoshow and it was really fun and the panoramic sunroof is pretty gorgeous.  I think I might trade up eventually.

The car is not for you though if you want to avoid the attention. People at work constantly ask me about it and sometimes I catch people looking at it on the street.

About 3 weeks ago my 1996 Honda Civic Lx died so I was forced to get another car.

So now I drive a 2014 Chevrolet Sonic LT with Turbo. Turbo is definitely nice to have when passing someone or to speed up fast. When driving it, it feels like a much bigger car than it actually is, so it's been kind of hard for me to get used to it. It's a nice car but if I could somehow go back to my old Honda, I would. But it's time was up. I would have gotten a new Honda Civic again but now they are ugly looking!

The Sonic Turbo was my runner up. But I wanted it in blue (and a hatchback) and the dealer was having a hard time getting it for some reason. The Sonic Turbo and the base Veloster feel about the same when it comes to speed/acceleration.  Without the turbo I wasn't even going to consider it (too slow)

But yeah I agree the new civics are really ugly, and I don't like their CVT transmissions...  I test drove the new 2015 Fit because it kind of reminded me of the old civic hatchbacks but the engine was really really loud... and the price was a major drawback....

Not to mention gas.

If I ever get a performance vehicle later on I'm getting electric. Hell I would now if they weren't so expensive.

Lol, I've only got 3.... Not bad, I've only had it since Aug of 12', I haven't had one in 5 or 6 months I think....... I might be overdue.

There is a track that I have let her go on, I've gotten it up to 164 on a gun with the speed limiter turned off...... FAST.

It's legit, b

Bang for your buck, not many 30,000 dollar rigs are gonna give you 160.

And it's a very, very reliable car too. No problems at all with it, we had a cold front earlier this January where the temp dropped to -25 overnight. Next morning my car started right up, and was ready to go.

But... it is rwd, so... Yeah. Sometimes I slide.... weeeeeee!!!

I used to drive a 2000 Ford Taurus station wagon. Unfortunately, the previous owner lived on the east coast, so the undercarriage is badly corroded by the road salt. The last time I took it to get the oil changed, the mechanics told me that the subframe was so badly rusted out that there was a danger the engine block might drop out of the hood onto the street while I'm driving, so now it just sits on my driveway.

I had a similar situation with my Civic. They said when I bought it that it wouldn't last a year and a half.

Little did they know, I could fix those problems. Sure, it has been collectively been totaled (especially when I drove with a blown head gasket for 4 months), but it's still cheaper than finding a new car(my area sucks for that)
