He is HOT enough that's for sure but Mr. Gaider did say they weren't finished with Solas.

 I just read Ladyinsanity's tumblr about PAX and she mentioned that in DA2 our companions were outcasts..but in DA:I they will be the best of the best...so that got me thinking...if Solas is the best of the best like how she mentioned Cassandra is highly regarded seeker. Vivienne served Celene , the Divine and was First enchanter...so where is Solas going to come from? ....Hmmmm

Man, I am sooooooo conflicted right now.

 

Cullen being a LI took a bit of wind out of my sails, because I very fervently hope for Varric.

 

But if there's only 2 male LIs like the last two games, then that puts me at odds with all of you wanting Solas.

 

And part of me wants Solas, too, funnily enough.

 

So, yeah. Conflicted.

 

While I still hope for Varric as my # 1 preference... I really can't help but be drawn to dem thighs. That 3-shot side-by-side of them on the previous page... uunnff. I rather like the "steam power" I see behind that particular "locomotive", if you catch my drift. *wink wink nudge nudge*

So, yeah. Guess what I'm saying is that while I'm waving my pom-poms on Team Varric... I will not shed tears if Solas takes his place as a LI.

 

Also, I've had a lot of rum tonight, but I think I'm speaking from the heart with all honesty. And some drunkeness. But mostly heartly honesty.

Just because he came from nowhere special and others haven't acknowledged him as the best of the best doesn't mean he isn't, so it's possible that he really just seems like some random apostate when you meet him.

Just... would really like his dwarven lovin'. But I fully realize I'm competing against that whole Bianca memory/promise thing that he's tied himself to like a stone sinking one into the ocean.

 

But continued bro-hood is fine as well. I was just thrilled to hear I'd spend another game with him at all.

Yeah, an expert is still an expert even if no one else knows it.  Not everyone loved DA2 but I love how each game is getting its own distinct feel, DA2 included!

I was thinking about this the other day and I realized that your companions in both DAO and DA2 didn't much help you with anything beyond fighting with you so you didn't get killed. I mean, think about it, if you had been able to go to Orzammar by yourself and somehow didn't need any help to keep you from dying in battle, everything would have turned out the same. The player character was the one that got everything done. Same with the Wending Woods quest, etc.

 

I want who you take with you on certain quests to have some serious bearing on how it turns out. Kind of like how Fenris can help you when you talk with the Arishok except much more prevalent. Like, if you don't take Solas with you on x quest, x quest is much harder to complete or it's impossible to get the best outcome.

Yes, that would make sense. You're gathering influential people, so it would only make sense that you'd bring said influential person to a meeting with people of his/her group to better persuade them.

I'm in the same situation as you, but do not despair! I think Cullen might be an NPC romance (he's an extra warrior in a game with three of each class), which means that there's still a possibility of both Solas and Varric being LIs.

Good! I WANT it to feel forced! I want the player character to not just be able to get everything done all nice and neat by themselves and regret not having one of their "experts" with them. I know it's annoying if you hate a character but hey, that's an individual player's problem.

Oh I wasn't arguing with you, just pointing out another possibility! He could be a renowned Fade expert that you're sent to find or he could just be some random apostate that happens to be the best of the best but you don't realize it. That first part was a reaction to you saying that all the companions are supposed to be the best, I was just reacting by saying that he really must be a seriously legitimate expert now that it's confirmed that all of the companions are amazing!
