Also, am I the only one who can't get over the fact how adorable Solas' backpack is? (am I the only one who thinks that he keeps them jared bees in it?)

As to the fan art, I've got hobby ADD right now!  I bounce around between sewing Cass's jacket, reading The Calling and drawing.  I've scrapped 3 half-finished pieces so far, but the one I'm working on now will be finished... TONIGHT.  I swear!  My Inquisitor is in it and I got obsessed with drawing her armor so it's taken longer than I expected

*raises hand* guilty as charged...I had or still have a bit of a crush on Orsino.... Hate that they killed him off. I read somewhere that it wasn't in their plans to kill off Orsino it was a last minute decision and they changed it......

I had a crush on Orsino even before I rolled a fem!Hawke and heard that moonlight dancing line

I confess that all the spiffy fan art is making me want to make fan art of Solas, too.  I don't usually do fan art, though, and I doubt it'd look nearly as cool as some of the others.

Human mage for sure since DA:O taught me to love mages and my first character is usually based off me and the decisions I think I'd make.  I've hated playing mages in other games, but they're fantastic in DA and it seems like you get a lot of extra little comments about your magic use.

 

My fan art Inquisitor looks like a rogue though because I loved one particular armor concept

 

Do you know what origin you'll start with?

Eeeeeep, I'm so glad I'm not the only one who loved Orsino   He's probably my all-time fave DA elf, even after Fenris and Zevran (who I love).  It's just that combination of the voice and the fiery/dorky personality, plus he did look super-adorable.  I was so gutted about what happened to him; if there's one npc who I'd have loved to see return in DAI as a companion, it's him.  I'm still partially in denial and tell myself that Varric was just exaggerating the ending to try and impress Cassandra

Oh cool! I'm either rolling a female Qunari mage or a Dalish mage, though I'm leaning towards Qunari. For some reason, if Solas is a LI, I keep picturing him with a Qunari!

Personally I would like him to be pragmatic and distant. I don't see him as some kind of a mage freedom fighter, just someone minding his own business

Give me that Solas! Also, I like your qunari idea.  A the human female/male elf heights are close enough that it's sort of awkward, but I'm assuming a qunari chick would be taller (which makes it better for me, for some reason!).  Also, if Solas ends up being what we're hoping for, he'll need a strong lady

 

Edit: But I can achieve maximum creepiness if I make a human female that looks just like me and then perv on LIs

Everyone is talking about him in the context of a Love Interest, lol. I actually think it's a bit of an accomplishment on Bioware's part that the love interests aren't immediately obvious. None of them have a stereotypical "love interest" look to them that's been consistent across all of their games since Neverwinter Nights.

 

He looks fairly old, though. i think it's the fact that his jaw is almost nonexistent. Love the design on him though, next to Vivienne he almost looks like a homeless bum. A practical one, but homeless nonetheless. I wonder what their character banter will be like.
