I would love if it were Cole or Dorian, but I think we'll probably hear about the ones that we've seen a lot of first. I don't really look for the warden to get much confirmation for a while, either, honestly. If they confirm the warden it's a nail in the coffin for Cullen and it seems like they're set on dragging that out. lol

 

At this point, Cole and Dorian are the two least "confirmed" companions of the ones we've thought possible thus far. If they threw us for a loop and had one of them be the next reveal, I wouldn't even be all that disappointed!

It would definitely be a surprise, but I think they want to keep us guessing about a couple slots and about what's happening with the warrior slots. I don't really see that getting filled in right away. It's just a hunch and my inclination to think they want to keep us guessing. lol

Definitely hoping for Solas or DHMG, though I do think we might not see either because of the mage thing   I'd love to hear about a completely new companion as well, but I could also be happy going into DA:I with one or two unknowns.

 

I'm going to be completely useless tomorrow.  Before the announcement because of anticipation, after because of giddiness no matter who it is.

Yes!  Ahhhhhh I would spend ALL DAY on my fan art if it's Solas.  It's a huge piece for me but I want to show it to you guys asap!

And you're definitely not the only one who grew attached to his bald head. I'm hoping it stays that way too, though if he has a ponytail thing like in the concept art, I won't be too broken up about it. As for the Follower Friday thing, since we're in agreement, I hope we find out tomorrow if we're right!

 

Edit: Also, I hope it's Solas so we can finally get his character kit too! We are in dire need of a close-up.

Actually, I kind of wonder if they're going to throw us for a loop and announce someone we know literally nothing about.  I don't think they'll reveal Cole, if Cole is a companion, but they might reveal the Warden or Sera.

 

I would prefer that Solas get his reveal, but as someone elsewhere pointed out, it doesn't seem likely that Bioware would reveal two mages in a row.  I really wish they would (bonus points if he turns out to be a romance and they told us that too), but I don't see it as being as likely as Iron Bull or someone else entirely.

I doubt it, they want some cards to hold close to their chests. I very much suspect they will reveal a male non-human character. So Iron Bull or Solas makes sense.

 

Iron Bull would make more sense as a later reveal because he's likely to be a character that is more heavily involved in marketing, but Solas would make two mages in a row. But who knows.

As I said in the IB thread, we still haven't seen any in game qunari, which is why I doubt it's him. But I am a bit nervous about it being Solas. It's like going on a blind date. What if he's an ***?

The only thing I wonder about Solas as far as flaws go is if he'll have any prejudice. Some of the elves we've met have been pretty racist towards humans.

Yeah that's very true about the ponytail, I could deal with that. It's amusing since I'm not normally very fond of the bald look, but I think he works it great. Maybe because of his sharp features? Totally agree, seeing his character kit would seriously make my Easter weekend

Oh gosh yeah I'm super nervous about his personality. I'm hoping he's a little more on the sweet side than spicy (it depends on what type of 'spicey' I guess) I would be so sad if he turned out to be a jerk.

Yes but there's such a thing as too sweet. I mean maybe he's sweet up front, but has an explosive firey temper.

Well Vivienne herself has yet to put me off of Vivienne, so I don't know if him being a jerk would be a nail in the coffin. But I've had crushes that have ended as soon as a person opened their mouth. So cute or not, it's going to be awkward if it ends that way.

True, and the only really racist elf companion we've had was Velanna. I wouldn't be too surprised if they did that, though I'd hope that prejudices were sidelined in this game considering the circumstances. Which is also how I expect a Qunari Inquisitor will be able to do their job.

I think it'll be dealt with basically like it was in Origins. Probably it'll amount to bickering in party banter and maybe taking a while for certain companions to warm up to you, like Sten and Shale. I'm sure some companions will have certain biases, though, that's basically how they frame different factions and their idealism.

 

It's hard to say where Solas falls with this, because we know so little about him! It's possible that he's a huge elf rights activist, but it's also possible he's almost totally isolated from the racial aspect of himself and doesn't hold much opinion either way. We really need to know his background to guess this kind of thing.

I remember Fenris having an attitude (which was understandable)and I loved Fenris.

Yeah, that's a very solid point! I ended up liking Fenris a ton so it's probably nothing to worry about (not that they'll be anything alike, but yeah )

I'm really excited for party banter. I really can't wait to see who he gets along with and what it'll be like (especially if he's a romance! PLEASE) I hope they can keep the interactive banter in.

For at least a week or two, this is the last I am going to work on this art.  I have been staying up all hours to work on it.  It's becoming an unhealthy obsession, and I'm never, ever going to be able to be satisfied with the anatomy.  But his face looks okay.  Mostly.  This might become easier once the game's out and I've seen his face/expressions/etc. more.  Maybe.

I do wonder if it will be someone else, specifically a human, but Solas might make more sense, because I suspect he'll be important to the plot in a major way.  We're dealing with Veil Tears.  So, someone who is an expert on the Fade will be invaluable.  In theory, the most important characters will be done first, and they may get more time spent on them dialoguewise etc.

 

Which, if true, would explain why Alistair, Morrigan, Anders, and Merrill all got more attention than some other LIs/characters... they are the ones you are expected to have, and have major plot relevance.  So they'd have been worked on more.

 

Very eager to know what they mean by saying he's hot pepper candy.  Maybe he's a nice guy but his conversation is... spicy.

Thank you.  It does not come easily...  I think it's more trained skill than natural talent in my case, because I've never, ever been able to master anatomy, hands, etc.  And I cannot let it go if I don't think it looks right...  Some people can do art as easily as breathing, and I am not one of those people.  I think the people in this thread can attest to that what with all my moaning about this art in the process of making it and posting various versions of it in various states of completion.

 

In other news... I'm going to make a fan art request from those of you with better anatomy skills than mine:  Solas in a compromising pose, asking to be drawn like one of the Inquisitor's Orlesian girls.  DO EEET.  (You know you want to.)  Delicious thighs a plus, but optional.  But keep it work/BSN-safe (no X-ratedness).
