Hmm at this point I have a feeling they are going to announce the name of the follower this Friday and then next week information we'll get the pictures/info (even though that means it will bleed slightly into next month). It seems that David Hulegaard the one who made the Follower Friday thread just moved over to Edmonton this week so that might be why it's coming a little later than we thought it would.

 

Orrr I'm completely wrong. That is a pretty big possibility

Thank you for the welcome! I will happily participate in the revering of this glorious elf I think this friday they'll announce who the companion is going to be and then there's going to gradually be more information, I think that's what they did with Vivienne.

 

So glad you joined us!  This thread is a lot of fun and we do weird things to Solas in fan art.  Not creepy or perverted, just... weird

 

Seriously, if all they show us this Friday is ONE screen shot of Solas I would be happy.  SO HAPPY!

Oh my gosh why did I not discover this thread earlier!? Solas must be pretty important if he's on the box art though So now we only have to survive untill friday (if he is the one we're finally going to get more information on, I hope I'm not being overly optimistic here or else I'll have to go and cry somewhere in a corner...) Ugh, why is waiting so hard..

I know I hate the waiting....yesterday I was wishing there was a such thing as a stasis pod so I can get in it and let my Hubby wake me up in the Fall......such a weird thought lol.....weird.

I know what you mean...  the longest I've stayed away from this Forum while awake is about 5 hours.....waiting is sometimes excruciating.

He doesn't look that grumpy in that one screenshot, just, neutral... if you check the enhance-zoom.

 

As for my art I did, I made him grumpy because I was going to paint him like an Easter egg, and I couldn't imagine him being happy about that.

I think it's just because his eyes looked kind of intense in that screenshot. Not that intense eyes are a bad thing!

 

But yes, having one's head painted like an Easter egg would probably spark a good deal of grumpiness.

That's the first thing I noticed about it. And it's good to see. Even Laidlaw confirmed that it was their intention to make it that way.

Most definitely!  I'm feeling a ton of love for the Bioware artists right now   How freaking clever they are to create a figure that is detailed, engaging, and powerful while remaining ambiguous.  It's an instantly relatable character that I would be drawn to if I saw it on a wall of games.  Good marketing   It's obvious a lot of thought went into the presentation of the Inquisitor, which gives me all sorts of warm, fuzzy feelings.  I sound like an emotional "I love you, man" drunk right about now, but I could gush over this box art and the artists all day.

 

Now I really, super hope Bioware is at San Diego Comic-Con so I can get a poster of this signed and framed for my wall.  Barring that... maybe Allan will sign it for me over and over if I ask really nicely.  He's an artist, it totally counts!

 

Oh, and if there are any Solas cosplayers there I'll die.  Happy.

Yeah, I saved the file and zoomed waaaaay in.  Definitely Solas, but not sure if that's Vivienne or a human at all--can't figure out where the head would be.

 

Solas, however, is definite and not just because of the bald head.  It's that whole "he's wearing that fur drapery over his right side" thing, if you extreme-zoom to see it.  But the other figure, well, if that's a head it's too big.  Almost looks like the figure is bending so that the head is pointing toward us, while the staff is pointing outward, but that's such a strange pose I can't imagine that being right.   They are too close together for Vivienne's head to be that big--Rhodes is skilled enough he wouldn't make that kind of mistake with perspective.  So I think either I am looking at it totally wrong or that may not be a person he's beside at all...

 

Still, interesting that he was chosen to be on the cover art over some of the others.  It bolsters my theory that he'll be extremely important, and extremely important companion characters are usually LIs.  Not always though.

 

Edit:  Okay, I think I see a figure now, but I can't say it looks like Vivienne even so.  Definitely a mage, but that's not a horned hat--it looks like a tiny arm is splayed one direction, with the head up the other, and then the staff coming from the other arm.  Could be her, and in fact I'd say more likely her than Dramatic Hands, but I have no idea.
