Man, I don't know how anyone could hate on him. I wasn't even in camp Solas and I'm like:

One of his eyes is going a bit wonky in that screenshot but hot daaaaaamn!!! He's definitely not old, that seals it. Also, Cass has some power-thighs of her own going on!
 
I also just realized that the group picture kind of proves that he's pretty tall for an elf!

So now the big question is--if he's an LI and *crossing fingers* he's available for both genders. I sure hope so! The more people able to romance him, the better

Since they're doing NPC romances, there's a chance they'll do the 2/2/2 structure that was talked about and not all LIs will be available to everyone. It's possible that Solas could end up being a LI, but as either straight or gay. We know Cullen can't be gay, so if they do 2/2/2, one of the companions has to be gay, basically.

 

They might continue with the vague/all bi structure, though.

Yeah, that's very true about the 2/2/2 possibility but I personally hope everyone is available for both genders.

 

Maybe I'm just selfish though   If Solas turned out to be the gay LI I'd be really happy for those who will romance him, but I would be disappointed myself since I don't plan on making a male Inquisitor. I guess it's much too early for any sort of disappointment at this stage though as we'll (hopefully) know soon enough!

I'm still hoping for Varric as my # 1 romance selection, but today's trailer and screenshots have basically cemented me solidly in the Solas camp as runner-up/alternative. 

 

Dude just looks very intense and intriguing. I wanna know his story.

The theory that Solas is a "main LI" might align with this.  Y'know plot LIs are always full of angst and drama...  I've never had a canon PC that romanced any of the big plot-involved companions, so it would be interesting.  And painful...but I think that's the risk of playing to begin with.  

 

Especially if the ancient elf theory goes anywhere...  I wouldn't be too surprised if he betrays us at some point.  That whole Last Supper business with the Inquistor and the companions might also suggest a Judas in the ranks...

 

I want to hope for the best though.

er. If I'm not mistaken, I thought that this was the cover art? I can see two teeny tiny figures by the boat, but I don't think those are supposed to be party members. Even if they are, it's near impossible to tell who they are from this angle. 

 

 

EDIT: having mentioned earlier his practical swampman look, I'm dying to know what his Banters with Vivienne are. They're probably going to be half super interesting discourse given that he's an expert on the Fade, lots of rivalry, and plenty of sniping between her making jabs at his dress and him firing them right back.

If you zoom in a lot, you can tell they both have staffs, and the one on the right looks to be wearing Viv's hat, while the one on the left looks bald.

That's indeed the cover art, I'd have to say that it's more speculation than confirmation that those two figures are Solas and Vivienne. The more you zoom in the blurrier everything gets so we can't really be certain untill we get that confirmed from Bioware but their silhouettes atleast look like those two companions. The forums can tend to get a bit overexcited sometimes though so maybe that's why they're labeled as Solas and Viv

Not only is Solas on the cover, he's like... literally the Inquisitor's right hand man in the group shot.  If he's not an LI, I really hope someone writes some badass fan fics!
