If that is Cole, I do imagine that he and Solas at the very least would have quite a few conversations! Considering Solas is a fade expert and all.
Lol. I said once that I would be keeping an eye on Solas for anything shady that may go on with him. But now that Cole is confirmed, he's the one that I really have to watch now. I get really really bad vibes from Cole. We'll see.
Coles kind of a open book of not right in the head-ness. So, if we get betrayed. I think it will be from someone we least expect. Like a loyal, bald, elven lover who has sworn their undying love to us. Then Bam! Angst and sadness, but in the end, loves. *left field theory*
Alright, so I have a theory. Don't know if anyone else has thought of this as well.
Solas and Cole are going to be besties. Solas is an expert on the Fade, so it would stand to reason that he would be completely fascinated by Cole's mysterious demonic/spirit nature. He will want to study him, and since Cole is extremely lonely, antisocial, and awkward, he will latch onto Solas and the two will be a rather strange duo indeed.
However, there may be a darker side to their 'friendship'. Cole may end up (perhaps unintentionally) feeding off of the attention and sympathy that Solas provides him, just like he did with Rhys, and he may end up manipulating him in a similar manner.
I am kind of hoping the Solas is smart enough that he doesn't end up one of those unwilling mage dupes, but I like the idea that Cole and Solas are a package deal. Someone needs to be around to explain Cole to us, after all. I believe there was even a dev tweet that said something along the lines of certain companions having dialogue explaining demons in greater detail. I'd have to search the twitter thread to find it if anyone is interested.

I agree that I don't think Cole will be the betrayer.
(also, a heads up, you can get warning points if the boards don't filter out f-bombs unfortunately).

Only if we'll be provided with an option to kick Cole. Gotta root that evil out, while it's in the eggshell.
Iron Bull and Cole can be the gay ones. No one will miss them.
I hope that the straight men are interesting and exciting; yeah I'll miss out on them, but that's the way the game works. I'm sure the non-straight romances will be great.

Um, Cole won't even be an option, I should hope, considering he's got the mind of a child... Besides which I adore Cole and I want to play Dalish Mom to him, or something.
That said, with what happened at the end of Asunder, yes, he bears watching. I don't think he is necessarily evil, but he doesn't really understand the world the same way a mortal would. His morality will be different.
Solas and Cole as friends... I'm not sure. I have some suspicions about Solas, and I wonder if he'd be more inclined to watch Cole like a hawk than to befriend him, though it would be nice if he pitched in with my Dalish and played dad to Cole while she played mom. That'd be cute.
As for Solas betraying us... I have no idea how close to the Inquisitor he will actually end up being. Hopefully we can recruit him early on so that we can get to know him well and possibly curtail any treacherous inclinations he may have through the power of friendship.
I think, if Solas ends up gay, I'll be a little disappointed that my Inquisitor can't romance him, but I can epic bromance him, and that will mean Dramatic Hands is likely straight or bisexual... and you know, I can definitely live with that, 'cause he's pretty cute. Though my Dalish will end up celibate, someone else would surely pursue the Tevinter magister whenever I get time for another playthrough. Maybe my qunari, who will likely either be a mage or a rogue even if warrior might make more sense. So in other words, I have no problem with him being gay, though I'd be happier if he were bisexual than straight. I'd prefer he wasn't straight, because I know there are some men who want a piece of that elf, too, and, well, I want other people to be happy.
Spoiler
If the theory that Solas is Felassen ends up true... I have to wonder if I'm the only one who felt that Felassen and Briala may have had a bit of chemistry. I kind of felt like if Celene weren't in the picture, Felassen might have had some interest in Briala, although she constantly referred to him as old. And yet I felt like Briala might have had an interest, if not for Celene. But I probably read too much into their relationship, and it's more teacher/student, parent/child... except for that parting magical kiss. That particularly made me wonder. If it's true, and Solas is Felassen, then it may mean he's open to romance with women, but we still don't know how he feels about men.
I also have a theory that the Inquisitor might be Felassen's master, but... it's impossible to say and about as unlikely as the ancient elf theory.
I'm trying not to get too excited, just in case (not very successfully >.<).
Same here. Thankfully having all of the companions revealed in the trailer will make that pill easier to swallow, if the Follower Friday doesn't happen.
I have a feeling he's actually designed to be good looking, if my wax fruit theory holds for him. Wasn't he supposed to be very attractive anyway?
But I don't get much of a sandal vive off of him. It may just be because I'm clouded with that Dante impression.
He does sort of have Sandal's face shape/structure, but, the only pic of him is at such a distance that they may actually look way different, if we could see him closer.
I never got the impression he was meant to be particularly attractive, in the novel, though.
But back to Solas... What do you think his stance on other elves might be?
I thought so too. I wonder if it's so people wouldn't think he's hot?
We can barely see him. People are taking a lot from some not zoomed in group picture about the way some of the characters look. Either people will be happy when they get close-ups of the newly revealed companions or they'll end up disappointed.
... Anyone else, looking at the really good screenshot of Solas in party with Cassandra, have the irrational desire to have their Inquisitor ride on his shoulders? ... No? Just me...?

... Yeah. I did say it was irrational, right?
*raises hand* Me!
But I don't have a desire of my inquisitor riding on his shoulders bless his heart lol!
More like having her jump on top of him and smothering him with kisses...

Well, he does have those lips...
But now I'm picturing Cassandra's expression back there if the Inquisitor suddenly decided to climb onto Solas's back... not to mention Solas's expression. He'd probably be pretty confused and surprised. Like: What are you doing, I am not a horse...
