I just want to say, that even though some people have been not so enthusiastic about Solas being bald, everyone who has been supportive gets a big high-five from me. My husband is prematurely bald and has always been embarrassed/insecure about his attractiveness because of it. I love that so many people (like me) are finding his (Solas) baldness to be a good thing! Warms my heart.

Wh--really?  Huh.  Well, that...might work, actually.  He has a nice voice, once you separate it out from, you know, Leonard. 

 

I'd be interested to see what he could do with it.  I wonder if it'd be immediately recognizable?  One of my favorite voices in DA:O was Sten, and his VA's speaking voice is nothing like Sten's...it surprises me every time I hear him on TV (Mark Hildreth is on Resurrection right now).  Not nearly as deep and growly.

I was a bit thrown too Johnny galecki has such a cute voice, I wouldn't complain if Solas sounded like him. I'd just picture Solas pushing his glasses up on his nose from time to time, hehe.

Edit: but it would make me think he wasn't intended to be a LI, so... I'd cry.

I just kind of worry that him not having a deep, sexy voice will add fuel to the hate fire.

I have the feeling that the haters will always have a reason to dislike in this case Solas, if his voice was deep they'd say it wouldn't fit him and if it wasn't he'd probably be too girly or something. Whatever it turns out to be we'll just have to counterattack the hate here with our love-filled posts like we already do.   I'm really glad we have threads like this where there's no immature haters but just a bunch of fans who appreciate what Bioware does and creates and enjoy speculating about things without being total asses. That's why I love this thread, you're all really lovely people

No, it took me a minute too, but I believe Janus meant that the actor who does the German voiceover for Leonard is supposedly doing Solas's voice for the German version of the game.  Nothing really to do with Johnny Galecki himself, though maybe a clue as to what sort of voice they're going for in general?  And actually, the German voice for Leonard sounds nothing like Johnny's voice, IMO...deeper and smoother.  So...basically just more waiting to see who'll voice the English speaking Solas.

 

And as an aside, if the follower for Follower Friday isn't revealed soon my head might explode.  And I have a head cold, so it's close anyway.

I seriously need to get out of the house or something!  Today was supposed to be chore day so I'd hoped to hole up inside and clean the bejesus out of my apartment, but it's repeatedly interrupted by obsessive refreshing on the blog page (through no fault of my own >.>).  I'd even be happy with one line of text added to the characters page on the DA site: "Solas is voiced by ______."

I appreciate the HUGE amount of material we've received this week, I just kinda wish they'd never introduced the idea of "Follower Fridays."  It's easier to be satisfied with sporadically released info when you're not under the impression that there's some sort of schedule.

 

Edit: lol I very rarely express disappointment with something like this, so what I wrote sounds totally rude in my mind.  I guess that's my version of internet rage.

Yeah, I completely agree Ispan. I actually...kind of wasted most of today sitting here on the computer which is no one's fault but my own, but I was so damn excited for some follower news   Oh well.

 

But yeah, they really shouldn't call it Follower Friday and probably should just get rid of the thread in the news section entirely at this point. There's a lot of upset people already which is understandable since they didn't really communicate properly about the whole thing. At this point though, couldn't they just tell us the name of the character who we'll get the next information on? That would keep people hyped while we have to wait at least.

That is a good idea...I'm thankful they put out some screenshots and a trailer earlier this week..but come on to say there is going to be a FF and not do it...that's just rude!

If they would just tell us who it's going to be at the beginning of the month people won't be so...antsy!
