I think Solas is very handsome, but you're right that it isn't a conventional sort of attractiveness.  He's also interesting, and for me that counts for a lot.

 

I want to like this really bad, but I'll have to come back when I get more

 

Cullen is attractive in a conventional, Ken doll sort of way and I'd definitely get giggly and goofy if a man like that flirted with me, but I'd actively pursue a man with looks like Solas (in an unmarried alternate universe that is).

Even though I'm sliiiightly more excited for DHMG at this point, I have a feeling Solas could be stealth awesome. He has a ragged appeal- there's a story there, and I'd bet anything that it's a fascinating one.

 

I really like f!warrior/m!mage pairings, so if DHMG is m/m only, I'm going to romance Solas (if available) with a female human reaver.

Oh god yes, hell, I've planned what I'm naming their weapons, should the crafting system allow it of course. Gotta have backups though, since otherwise I'll have my planned canon LI being gay, (or straight), or unromanceable.

I am the worst at making up names. My first DAO playthrough was a human female noble named Oryn. Five minutes into the game I met my nephew Oren.

Oh and I think Sera looks like Nellie Olson from Little House on the Prarie. I don't watch ANTM (well I did watch the one where one girl didn't believe in dinosaurs). But I do agree with the pretty but flawed statement. It's hard to find any of them completely unattractive.

I know right? It's like they fit her and her personality although we don't know much about her other than she looks like she likes to tell jokes maybe and she's compared to Tequila and skittles!

 

But back to Solas...I think the banter between him and Cassandra is going to be very interesting especially when Cassandra is known to hate mages? I'm sure he will have some nice comebacks if so...but oh boy! lol

 

I hope they show us some banter at E3! Or at least show us what all the companions can do during battle! (Especially Solas)

I don't plan too far ahead, I just have the general idea of what I want to do with my first playthrough.  What I do from there will probably be influenced by the first playthrough though I have some ideas...

 

1. Male elf mage Kyriel Lavellan - Solas (or Cassandra if Solas is straight)

 

At some point I want to romance Cassandra with a really ornery Dalish mage Inquisitor.  Or try to, I guess.     But if she ends up as the first run romance it won't be that one since I like to play my canon PCs as more easy-going types.  I also want to play both a male and female Qunari and whichever is first is definitely going to be a rogue.  I have no idea who I might romance with them.  I also want to play a female dwarf, but I don't know who I'll romance with her either.  And eventually a human Circle mage of a gender I'll probably decide when I get there.  You might've guessed by now I'm not committing to romances much yet.

I'm really curious what her views on mages is going to be.  She was nearly Fenris level of "GRR MAGES!" in her movie, but towards the end she seemed to lighten up her stance.  But I'm not sure if that will carry forward, or how much.

I know there are a lot of different opinions swirling around right now, but I have a hard time believing BioWare won't make one human and one elf available to every sexuality... and that means the elves pretty much have to be bisexual. Doesn't make it right, but... 

Either way, Dorian is a shoo-in for the gay male love interest.

I can see that as a likely theory, but I feel bad that women would get stuck with their hetero option as an NPC. Maybe they thought Cullen was popular enough that it would be overlooked.

To be honest, BioWare is damned no matter what they do. Unfortunately, not everyone will be happy with the choices we have been given.

I thought I might be upset at the idea of one of my options being an NPC, but...

1) I have faith Bioware will handle them well.  I don't think they'll be totally equal to companion romances, but I'm excited to see what they can do, and,

2) Dorian is so hot, I'll play any character required to romance him

 

Oh, my happiness completely relies on the assumption that Solas is an LI.  If he's not, I don't think any other LI could soothe my hurt.

 

Edit: I know ^this^ isn't a good idea, but it's already too late for me.  I lost my heart to Solas a long time ago

I have a feeling that's exactly it. 

I like/wanted Cullen, so even though it smarts, I'm willing to give it a shot. The players who will suffer are the straight women who weren't interested in Cullen... I'm sorry, ladies.

I was gonna do a lady Dwarf Rogue first, but a red haired, snarky, Dalish male elf mage has been creeping his way into my pictures so I guess he'll be first and of course romance Solas if possible, my next choices in order would be Iron Bull, then Beardy McWardenson, then Sera.

I'm basically in the same boat hoping for Dorian as an LI as you are with Solas. So many tears will be shed if he isn't an LI/not an m/m LI. lol

as for my -planned- romances:

 

Female mage/rogue elf - Sera (don't take this away from me Bioware)

Female mage/rogue elf - Solas

Male Rogue elf - Solas (if available)

Dwarf lady rogue/warrior - Solas.... these aren't main ones just different ones I'd be interested in trying. 

 

and we'll see about everything else... maybe Dorian (if that is him will get a nice romance in there too... I wonder who the 3rd lady is.....)
