I don't assume much of anything yet. But I won't lie, that theory isn't all that out of the realm of possibility. Like a few of you, I would definitely be SOL. I actually love older LI's (I'm in my 40's, so the whole "relate" bit, comes into play), but I have two problems with the Warden. One, his calling. As a die hard Thane fan, I can't do the near the end bit again. Two, and this is solely tastes/preferences, not a fan of full beards. I could get past the second one, but not the first.

As for Cullen, never been my bag. Love Greg Ellis' voice to bits, but still have never been interested in Cullen at all. Plus...NPC. I would love to romance DHMG (have a lil' thing for him), and I can (and will) romance him with a male, but it will feel like the "glass is half empty", if the best LI on the table for me, I can only romance as a male PC.

Okay! Enough whining for me. lol! The husband is cranky, and the animals are acting out (I swear, we must be due for an earthquake or something, with the bad behavior they are sporting right now! *glares at furballs*)

I don't think it's necessarily true. I don't think romance info would be anywhere in the survey.

I can definitely appreciate this. We've yet to have a fully gay companion.

I'm convinced being close to his calling is going to be part of the Warden's story line just for how interesting it would be. That doesn't an ideal romance option-make along with everything else.

 

If they do this, I'm going to need a "Hug Feathers" option. And it needs to last at least five whole minutes.

I am totally with you.  Though I'm not yet in my 40s, and Warden, aside from finding his beard unattractive, is also of fatherly age, in appearance, especially given the Inquisitor is around my RL age.  Some people think he's totally hot, and I'm fine with that, but Cullen, cute though he may be, is not my preference.  I can't romance someone with probably-a-mage if he doesn't see mages as people.  And, I don't want to romance a non-companion.

 

Many people would be thrilled with the Warden as a romance.  I don't want a tragic romance.  At all.  That would be right on par with Solas ending up betraying my Inquisitor--not to mention something they've already done before, particularly to players of straight female characters--only now men can join the "fun," if he's bisexual as the theory suggests.  And I don't want the Warden, shallow as that may be.  He could be the most awesome character ever, and I still couldn't view him as a romantic possibility because I'd be thinking he should be more fatherly to my Inquisitor.

 

The problem is, I can't shake the idea that the theory might be true, even if those were the characters who were more "pinned down" than the rest.  Because it seems to me that they'd want to get their romances settled before the rest.

Both groups have solid reasons to be Bi options.

I hope Solas is bi, but I've played celibate gay/bi/pan male characters before in the absence of a romance option I favoured and I still had a blast. I'll have just as much fun romancing Solas with a female character if that's his preference. This game will be amazing regardless of which companions can be romanced and October cannot arrive faster!

I apologize for dampening the mood. I just really needed to throw that out there. There's just so much everyone on this forum knows about that never really crossed my mind, such as the jaw bone thing, that I thought you all would be able to swat it away and be like 'oh you little nooblet, we discussed this AGES ago'. 

On that note I'm still presenting it to another thread, but I am hoping it will give us some positive reinforcement~!

Solas is basically my only hope of having a non-celibate Inquisitor.  MAYBE Iron Bull if they made him an option, but... not for my Dalish, who will be my first playthrough and maybe my only playthrough.  If Dorian is available instead, that is okay.  But I really, really want Solas to be available.

 

The Warden would be a massive disappointment cherry on top of the disappointment cake that was the Cullen-as-LI reveal.  Though I was happy for the Cullen fans, it meant my options were more limited.  Then I realized Cullen wouldn't even have the content that a companion would have.

 

Solas, if available, would have companion content.  I do not know him from past games, so he has no baggage.  I would suspect he's not anti-mage if he is an apostate.  He could, I suppose, turn out to be evil and then I'd dislike him and have a celibate playthrough anyway.
