Not sure! All I know is that I want his voice to  be sharp and clever more than super deep and sexy. A Gideon Emery wouldn't really suit him, I don't think.

 

I wonder what accent he would have. THAT is really up in the air, considering we don't know his origins.

 

Edit: This makes me hope that they release voice actors (and maybe writers) with new companion reveals. That's not such a huge, secret piece of information and then we'd be even more satisfied! With Cass and Varric, we already knew. I don't think we know Vivienne's but we got to hear her voice briefly in the game-play demonstration.

 

Vivienne is being written by Mary Kirby. I remember seeing that either on Twitter or somewhere on the forums where she said it was her.

It's a shame we never really got to know much about the elven lore in the games but I always loved the little elven sentences they used in the dalish origin, like being called lethallan, or the andaran atish'an greetings. IF it turns out that Solas is an ancient elf I really want him to speak Elvish to us, like the full language, not just a few lines. Maybe he can even teach us to speak it then, that would be so romantic... And you can make fun of everyone around you as they don't have a clue to what you're saying

I loved that about Fenris and his cursing in Tevinter. The fanfiction that spawned with him speaking Arcanum in *cough* certain situations, was the best. I'm all for Solas having a sexy accent and speaking elvish. If that turns out to be true, after launch and 1st play through, I know what kink meme prompt I'm posting. Ha!

No thanks.  I still want Solas.  Been thinking of doing some more fan art, but the thought that he may not be a romance despite the tight pants and the little airstrip leading to his crotch, tends to make me not want to.  I'm already too attached to the idea that he'll be an LI, and even if he is he may not be available to women.  So I'm already set up for disappointment, no need to be further disappointed.

Was mostly joking anyway.  Not particularly clear today, stayed up too late and had to be up early for work... sooooo...

 

The new concept art piece does look fantastic, though.  I would have mentioned Narcissus but I'm not sure if he was the mythological figure who fell in love with himself and stared at his own reflection, or if it was someone else.  Or you could just find a demon to play doppelganger to you, I suppose...

 

And yet, I still want more Solas stuff.  Info, Bioware.  We are starved.

 

Has anyone tried tweeting Bioware to ask who the voice actor is?  Perhaps they'll tell us THAT much at any rate...

I'm sorry, I've only liked two things this morning and I'm already out.   For the record, I think you get them back 24 hours after you use them. 

 

As for voice actors, I think I said Colin Farrell earlier in the thread. But if we're talking Americans, I'd like Johnny Depp. He may be a tiny bit out of Bioware's budget, but I'm sure they could find a good impersonator. Johnny is naturally a bit awkward in the way he speaks, and I think it would be nice to have someone impersonate that.

I can't help but view it in a humorous way, such as the Inquisitor waking up practically buried in flowers.

 

Sorry I weirded you out, that wasn't my intention at all!  I love how plush and cuddly PJ Solas is    I use the word "sexy" pretty loosely (very often I could/should replace the word with adorable, appealing, endearing, etc) and I'm more than a little obsessed with Solas so every piece of fan art that adds to his hypothetical personality and character just adds fuel to the fire.

 

Again, they're completely innocuous, beautiful drawings and I love your depiction of Solas    Can't wait for more!

Argh why do the most hilarious things happen when I go to sleep!?    I've never given so much likes before, I can't get enough of this thread   Do you guys all think Solas made all his clothing by himself, and maaaaaybe make something for the Inquisitor at a certain point ingame? Like... some matching pyjama pants or a heart-shaped backpack?   (I don't care how ridiculous that looks I want one now)

Hm.  Now that I look at his war room image, Solas's "fur thing" looks like the lining of a coat he's wearing.  It doesn't fit very well because he's used straps to keep it on his arms.  Or perhaps he made it himself and it isn't tailored all that well.  Kind of strange to have such a lopsided coat, and I don't remember him being left-handed; that bulk would be inconvenient if he's right-handed.

 

Would love to see a screenshot with Solas smiling.  Actually would enjoy seeing any of the companions smiling.  Hope there's a way to make each of them do so...

I'm confused now. What exactly do we know about this character? I could swear I've read things about his personality and such, but then I'm not entirely sure I haven't mixed him up with a character in TME. I know a lot of things are speculation right now, and we have only a small amount of confirmed details, but might we compile a list of facts and speculation?

Also, side quest: Make your grumpy companions smile. 

 

As for the fur thing, it's over only one shoulder so I'm not sure it's part of the coat. His outfits are strange things, aren't they?
