So I've spent the last 20 minutes waiting for a call while flipping through TWoT searching for something. And I remembered someone was caught on Felassen and Solas having (potentially) the same eye colour. So I now present a little fuel for the crackpot theory fire.

In regards to the children of Mythal and Elgar'nan.

"Their eldest children are remembered as twin brothers. Falon'Din was the Friend of the Dead, who guided elders on journeys of enlightenment in their long sleep and later carried them beyond the Veil in death. His brother Dirthamen gave the elves the gift of knowledge, and taught them the value of loyalty and faith in family."

Then in the list of elven gods it says of Dirthamen: God of secrets and knowledge.

So here is my crackpot theory.

Spoiler

I don't believe a word of it. Back to waiting for that call.

I've been thinking that for the past day or so, but I thought I should rein myself in a little.  Glad someone else said it first.

Ya'll are showing me that I obviously need to sift through the wiki a bit more.

In any event, the puzzle pieces do seem to fit quite well.

The only thing that makes me grump at such cool theories is that if they ARE true, Solas almost certainly won't be a LI.

Which isn't to say that I won't eventually (painfully) get over that and enjoy such an interesting story-line but still  :P

Edit: becoming the consort of an elven god would certainly trump queen of Ferelden

That so many of you sort of liked it (or had the same theory) shows how desperate we are. Glad I could help.

You should speak up! We've got nothing else, I'm sure I can speak for most in this thread when I say we're quite happy to hear anything. :)

It's worth it just for the pictures. So much pretty.

Nawwe :3 I know that Solas will be a romance, and possibly is the bi one along with Sera

I will admit that our theories are wickeningly awesome and holysmokes if we're correct  but Solas could just be a regular ole circle apostate

...... I use the word regular loose

For all the crazy theories, my favourite is still the nerdy apostate alone with his books, who happens to be a badass. I would be quite happy with that.

When I say I love a theory it doesn't necessarily mean I believe it, it's just exciting to look at everything from a different angle :)

If Felassan truly was one of the god twins...

Oh I was referring to banxey's theory up there^

And thank you Banx, I'm finally enjoying reading about elvish culture thanks to your theory :) I've got TME and the wiki open and the connections are very exciting :D

Edit: and I should have my hands on a copy of tWoT tomorrow too, yay!

I want to write my thoughts on the theory you presented but can't do it right now for ^this ^ very reason. The predictive text on this thing is more harmful than helpful grrrr

Yes! I would love this! I've been thinking about the whole ancient elf thing but I'm a bit confused about one thing. If Solas awakes from Uthenera, does that mean he's still immortal because he's technically still an ancient elf, or is that just gone after all this time? Because ( I don't want to say this because it's really depressing but I have to!) if he's still immortal that means we'll die after a while of old age (if not of something else first) and he won't so it becomes a sad romance after all, I don't want that to happen!!!  :crying:

Ok, simple theory about Solas' fur wrap.  Fur is actually one of the oldest and most primitive forms of armor and the rest of his outfit looks pretty ragged, scavenged, and possibly even homemade, so a thick fur might be the only protection he can get his hands on.  It makes sense to me if you look at its placement.  The fur is wrapped around his upper arms and shoulder like a pauldron protecting his right side, which is his staff arm and the side of his body that is forwardmost in one of his combat shots.  I mean, fur isn't very effective but it could soften the blow of some attacks.  Images in spoiler tags.
