What color is his eyes in game? I can't really see that clearly. If they're indeed blue, then I guess Bioware quit all elves having the same eye color?? Although Tallis had blue eyes...

I'm unsure about his in game eye color. I have seen it range from blue to grey to almost violet colored eyes.

They look violet to me.  

 

Most of the elves had green eyes in DA2, but I remember Jethann in particular having blue eyes.  I don't think there was any favored eye color for elves in DA:O that I could tell.

I'd even settle for a purely friendly or even Felassan-Briala type of hug from Solas, but I bet all of our companions could use a good squeeze (wink wink, DHMG).  I imagine a lot of them have been shouldering their burdens alone for a while so they'd probably give a huge sigh of relief and release a lot of tension if the Inquisitor gave them a nice warm hug.  So cute

Welcome to the thread, Felya

 

Wow, that is an amazing piece of art there by Swaggerswag. They are a very talented person it seems! The art by needlesslycryptic I love as well.

 

I don't know whether it's because I read about it in here so it's been put in my head as an idea but Solas does look a bit like Hugo Weaving to me in some of the screenshots. 

 

Also, loving the comparisons to Han Solo! ("Han Solas", I chuckled). It's a neat observation.

 

Dracarys I'll have to join you in saying that one of the things I like about Solas so far is his interesting rather than "conventionally attractive" appearance.

 

Some things I have been wondering about, now:

- Do you think he or his name has any link to the city of Solas in Tevinter? 

- With the existence of that city, and the fact that it means "pride" or "to stand tall" in Elvish, it seems like a rather meaningful and loaded name.. a name he chose and gave to himself perhaps? A name he picked for a specific reason or is known by due to things he has done or his views on things?

 

His layered outfit with the fur overwrap reminds me of some of the armors you can wear in Skyrim.

Ahhhh! I'm so happy Ymirr made a Solas picture! It's such a pleasant surprise! Hope I can see it on my computer soon as I am traveling the majority of this week.

Speaking of travels, I stopped at a prehistoric Indian site (correct term being native american) and picked up an interesting tidbit of information. Apparently the natives used the lower jaw of a deer (half of it) to cut grass. It looked similar to what Solas has around his neck. (Though the one on display was clean and not dark in color.) The purpose of me stating this is not the what (what animal it is), but the why (why might he have this). I might have figured out a practical purpose for the jaw he wears and it would support one of our running survivalist theories. Food for thought~

Anyway, I thought I saw eyebrows too. (Which is why my pictures have him with eyebrows....) Uh.. yeah.. maybe I need to check myself before I wreck myself. I'll just draw him without them in the future, no problem.

And I totally had a dream (last night) where they released a new trailer and Solas was smiling in it. It was incredible!
