This waiting game is so hard.  Some days I'll just be hanging out with my kids when I start thinking about Dragon Age and suddenly get freakishly and overwhelmingly excited for it to come out.  Then I remember there are still FIVE MONTHS and I die a little inside.

 

I need to know Solas' VA so I can obsess over him on social media.  It will help pass the time.

 

Also, LOL that bog unicorn... holy... that is hilarious.  I choked on my cereal when I saw the picture (yeah, chocolate Lucky Charms at 4:30PM, jealous?!).

Before I knew how it looked I was going to call it Vlad the Impaler, but I guess now it would be Vlad the Impaled. I suppose it would be good if you were going to play a necromancer, but it doesn't fit with the kind of characters I play at all. I want a nice handsome horse with a froufy Orlesian name like Ser Michel's Cheritenne.

 

Today I would like Troy Baker to be Solas' VA. Because hot.

The redhart halla is interesting, I didn't think any of the halla would have the big horns for reasons.  But I'm hoping there's regular white halla in the base game.

Yeah, I certainly appreciate the sense of humor that calls that a unicorn, but...I can't ride that in my sassy hat.  It's so...dead.  I think it's the halla for me!  Works since I'm playing an elf first anyway.

I wonder if the companions are going to have mounts, disappear, or run after you (lol).  And now I'm a little too attached to the idea of Solas riding around on a sheep.   Or at least a very cloud-like halla.

As much as I love the bog unicorn, I really don't see myself riding it until I play a more... evil character, eventually.  My favorite mount in WoW was the Talbuk so I'll probably find myself riding halla.  I enjoy collecting funny, unique items in games but I don't use them very often because they feel so out of character.

That looks like a giant Orlesian goat. I approve. But now I feel like the boring one who wants a regular horse. Hopefully the horses have personalities like Mabari. If all else fails I will just pretend Victoire is the Vivienne of horses and dress her in something like this.

Hmmm.  Not too enthused about any of the DLC mounts to be honest (didn't like the look of the horse armor, think the "bog unicorn" is too... grotesque, for my tastes--and I LIKE Arvak from Skyrim...).  I think the "red hart halla" may be based on those extinct giant Irish elk, but to me, halla are a very specific animal--the white deer with their spiraling antlers.  Maybe "halla" just means "deer," though?  But in that case, it really begs the question of why regular deer in DA:O were just deer, while halla were, well... halla.  And the Dalish halla keeper could converse with the halla, as if they were somehow special compared to other deer...

 

Wonder if Solas and other companions will have commentary based on which mount you're using?

OMG, yes, Troy Baker. That would be amazing. Loved him so much as Booker DeWitt in BioShock Infinite.

Well a hart is an adult male red deer, so the Red Hart Halla looks pretty much how I expected it to look (except for the horns). I suppose the reasoning might be that there are subspecies of halla (perhaps halla means "giant deer"?) and the halla we saw were the species native to the area around the Frostbacks. White prey animals don't tend to survive far from snow. 

 

I doubt companions will comment on DLC mounts. Most DLC is just reskins. It would be nice to hear some reactions to the bog unicorn though.

I'll be honest, I was hoping a bog unicorn would be some big, ugly, hairy swamp beast that I could name Sparklepants McGee or something.  This thing looks like it should be named Kill It With Fire, which Vivi might, if you try to use it when she's in your party.  I feel like this particular mount will not be up to the aesthetic standards of several members of the team.

I hope not, I really like the spiral antlers.  Though, to be fair, those are supposedly carved into that shape, so they might naturally be a lot broader/more splayed, or they might look more like regular antlers.

 

Hm.  Also, since apparently halla never shed their antlers, I wonder if they are more like antelope than deer?  Or if they're like reindeer and females and castrated males keep their antlers, while intact males lose theirs after mating season...

 

But yes, Solas would totally ride a halla.

I didn't even realize that I had somehow firmly settled on Solas having an American accent until I imagined him with a Dublin accent and my mind went KERPOW.  Damn it, I've been trying really hard not to get attached to any preconceived ideas about Solas but apparently it's all been happening subconsciously anyway.  Scumbag brain.

If we're going Irish, I'd really love it if it was Abbott Caellach from the Secret of Kells.  He just delivers an amazing performance, and I love his voice.  Although everyone in that movie had great voices.  If you guys haven't seen it, I'd recommend it.  Beautiful animation, superb voice acting, and great characterization.  My only point of 'meh' is the first five minutes or so.

okay from what I've seen the throne looks like something from the Fade,the Halla is pretty...pretty for my female inquisitor but not for my male,he would look like a sissy on that thing lol....and the Bog

Plus I hope his accent is foreign ,I'd love it if he does have an American accent too though! Ugh this waiting!
