Everyone, emergency quick question: Has it ever been explicitly stated anywhere that Solas has lived in the Fade?
 
I saw a fanart on Tumblr drawn by kistehvost:
 

 
and underneath she wrote that she heard that she heard Solas had lived the in the Fade for a long time. I messaged her inquiring where she had heard such information and she replied:

I don't think that implies that he lives in the Fade, only that he has been there a lot.

On the other hand, perhaps he got trapped in the Fade like the mouse guy in the DAO Mage origin, and the Inquisitor is able to rescue him back to Thedas by virtue of his fancy rift-closin' hand.

If he's been trapped in the Fade for years can you imagine how socially awkward he'll be at first? Being the first people he's seen in a long time who aren't spirits or demons could be very interesting. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

Normally the Fade can't be physically entered.  Even Dreamers don't go there physically.  If Solas is actually *inside* the Fade, he's not what he appears to be, or there's serious shenanigans going on.  Consider that the last known people to enter the Fade physically were the old Tevinter magisters who caused the Black City/Blight business.  So it's a huge thing now that the Inquisitor actually gets physically knocked into the Fade and comes back out...

 

If Solas is inside the Fade...  Well...

If he was trapped there for a long time his body would be of no use it would have decomposed,it would be just his spirit. So yeah I doubt he's trapped in there.

There's also the business with Solas more or less translating to "Pride" in elvish.

 

...Or it might just be another mistake in an article actually referring to regular dream-type Fade visitation.

No one wants to be Dalish but the Dalish. Their lives generally suck. The only people who have it worse are the city elves, apostates and casteless dwarves, and even that's debatable.
