No fun when you can figure out how to play the game (somewhat) but can't understand the dialogue or the story (due to not understanding the dialogue). Well, on another note, I never knew they had Dragon Age in Italian or Italian subtitles. I learn something new everyday~!

 

 

yes, all the Dragon Age games have subtitles in Italian, and all the trilogy of ME was dubbed too (and by some of my favourite voice actor too) Never Winter Night 2 was dubbed too, now that I think about it. (of course I don't know this because I had to see again Sand and I have restarded the game ) Quite shoking, the adoptive father of the protagonist was voiced by the same one who voiced italian Javik. (same voice actor of Cole in InFamous)

uhm...I think the only game from Bioware who didn't have the sub in italian is the MMORPG about star wars. but I didn't play it so I don't know.

even Baldur's Gate EE has been translated by an amatorial team who worked at it with beamdog. 

 

 

edit: forgot to say the importante stuff.

Solas styls doesn't seem very Dalish to me. The fur seems more...barbarian? I'm probably wrong, but...maybe the Chasind? or some other kind of tribe?

or simply there are different costums and vay to dress between Dalish clans.

Fortunately, I already have the TV. And I already have the PS4. I was going to go ahead and upgrade to PS4 specifically for this game (and all future games), but hubby beat me to the punch and got me one for my birthday last month. 

 

So, now that the Collector's Edition info is out and I now know it's not really something I want to fling down nearly $200 for, my pre-order wait is over and I'll be swinging by GameStop on my way home from work today to go ahead and pay-in-full for the Deluxe Edition.

And then the true wait to 12:00am October 7th begins. 

 

So, how 'bout that Solas?

 

Same here, though I managed to convince my husband to get the PS4 for no apparent reason when it came out (I used his weakness for new electronic toys against him, heh heh). I was mainly concerned with upgrading for DA:I, but everyone in the house wants something different. The trailer got my husband interested in DA:I (he liked Origins and wasn't interested in DA2), but he needs to keep his paws off of it until I've done at least one runthrough because MINE.

 

 

Breathing a sigh of relief today since I don't have to fiddle with my pre-order for the deluxe edition.  The CE is cool, but apart from the tarot cards nothing I'm all that keen on having.  One of these days I'm just going to break and buy the mabari and nug plushies.  Those can be part of my pre-order bonus. To myself.

lol I'm not sure Solas' style goes with any culture.  It kind of just looks... functional... like if someone dropped me on a deserted island naked with a couple of blankets and a knife, I might end up in an outfit like him.

 

That CE!  I want it, but we're already blowing our entertainment budget for the year with the video card I got last month and the PS4 I'm getting my husband for Father's Day.  Add two copies of DA:I deluxe to that and we're kind of way done for the year

 

We need a new Solas close-up screenshot so I can have a desktop that makes me feel all giggly again.

Yep, the Dragon Age games have italian subtitles, though in the second game they must have had two different people translating (some words are not consistently translated, as if the possible two translators never agreed on how to translate them...either that or the translator was a bit distracted), and there are a couple of errors here and there, but all in all they are quite good. Expecially the DA:O ones.

Guys, I had an awesome dream that Bioware announced that they would introduce all of the companions through videos that show them in action and include a few of their lines. Solas and DHMG's were lined up to be revealed today.

 

Why are dreams so cruel 

 

They did say a few weeks ago that they'd figured out a better way to introduce the companions (after the whole FF thing didn't go through as planned and the forums asploded), but they did not specify. Best guess is that they would do short videos sort of like with Mass Effect.

I would've been SO disappointed waking up and realizing it was just a dream   (though I'd probably still go check the blog just to make sure, haha).

Good point,since the Chasind robes and the Dalish keeper's outfit from origins are quite similar,though the suggestion that Solas outfit has possible Dalish influences,came from a discussion about Solas possibly having the ability to shapeshift, a form of magic practised by the Dalish mages(and not only),which is pure speculation.

Besides Genitivi's description of the Dalish
"Elves covered in tattoos and dressed in hides" and also Velanna's outfit the skins of the keeper "There is no uniform for Dalish keepers, but their attire displays similarities. Animal skins that show the finest traits of a given species are common adornments"indicate that attires made from furs and hides aren't uncommon among the Dalish,which kind of makes sense considering they live in the wilderness.
Still this doesn't necessarily mean, that Solas is indeed influenced by the Dalish as far as clothing is concerned.

I hope you don't get screwed on the CE if you want it!  It's pretty cool, I just have so much stuff cluttering up my desk already (including toys that are mine because, er...collectible purposes) that I'm okay with sticking to digital goodies. Though I have juuust enough space for Schmooples and the mabari, and my birthday's next month, so obviously I should shower myself with gifts. 

 

But Solas.  Yeah!  Snappy dresser!  Kind to animals!  Well, except the one he's wearing, but um...good survival skills!  Yay Solas!

Not just modding but console commands! I always play the DA games on PC for that reason alone. That way I can focus on exploring and having sweet conversations with Solas without having to worry about resources. Priorities and all, you know. Companions come first, real life annoying grinding and feeling poor, not so much!

hehe now I'm picturing Solas grabbing the Inquisitor's arm and adjusting it like a reading lamp.

 

 

She'll try to roll over in her sleep but Solas will haul her back over and prop her arm up with pillows so he can keep reading.  I'm sure she'll be willing to put up with the poor sleep since it's a pretty nifty excuse to share a tent with him.

Maybe Square Enix only wants to pay for two different language options. I can see that as a possibility.

I have wondered if Dalish clans dress differently from one another. Similar, but with different styles such as the Native Americans depending on location. Though, yeah, I agree with what Lorien19 has to say on this.

Ah yes, the hair thing. I did like his original hairstyle, though I like his shaved head look equally so. Anyway, I was looking through old concept art and I am making a stab-in-the-dark guess that Matt Rhodes has been trying to push for that hairstyle for quite some time(???) First with early Merrill (kind of) and then an early Fenris concepts, and now Solas. Guess someone down the pipeline just doesn't like that hairstyle.

*GASP* That was Fenris!? Boy, am I glad he turned out to look the way he does now. I don't know though, for some reason I'd rather have a bald character (and Solas) than a half bald shaven character.. it just looks odd... Maybe because it reminds me too much of dem young kids here trying to be tough and shaving their heads in all sorts of weird patterns.
