@ElitePinecone Are you sure, that the German Preview actually states, that he is a dreamer? Afaik someone wrote this by mistake and it kinda spread.

Gaider said that Solas was never supposed to be Dorian (the magister of the leak), so I doubt it.

God, I wish they'd revealed this cutie when I was still bald! Could have done a badass Fem!Solas cosplay, darn it!

Yes, there are nine. Maybe ten, if there's a DLC character.

 

If Dorian is a companion as well as Solas, that would mean we know all of the warriors already (Cassandra, Iron Bull, the Warden), all of the mages (Vivienne, Solas, Dorian) and two of the rogues (the blonde elf 'Sera', Varric). 

 

That would mean there's only one more companion who is completely unknown (unless it's Cole as the third rogue, who was mentioned in the survey), and that there's a 6:3 gender ratio.

I'd be pretty happy if this was the actual party setup. It'd be nice if there was another girl in there (Leliana could replace Cole, though I kinda wish it were a whole new character) but with we'd have a nice variety of characters and backstories.

Solas feels like such an unknown, it makes him very intriguing.  Ugh I can't wait to learn even the tiniest tidbit more about him!

 

I hate to be "that girl" and focus on his appearance but... his face is beautiful.  I'm glad he has no hair because it might distract from how gorgeous he is.  Also, he's definitely giving off a "young Maynard Keenan from Tool" vibe.

I'd be pretty happy if this was the actual party setup. It'd be nice if there was another girl in there (Leliana could replace Cole, though I kinda wish it were a whole new character) but with we'd have a nice variety of characters and backstories. 

 

One thing that might play into their thinking about the gender ratio is that it seems many major non-party NPCs are women - Leliana, Morrigan, the scribe lady. If the DLC companion is female then the ratio becomes 6:4 rather than 6:3, which is slightly more equitable - and if the DLC companion is a female dwarf warrior, that means we get the usual warrior-heavy party situation restored, plus another woman, plus another dwarf (considering Varric is the only one). 

 

Solas takes the number of confirmed companions to five (with the Iron Bull), and we know about Sera and the Warden already, which means there aren't too many spots left for surprise reveals. 

 

Also, I agree with what someone said above about mages not having specialisation restrictions now - I think they can possibly be specced as anything, and we've certainly seen both Vivienne and Solas using offensive magic.
