I arted last night. Or, rather, tried to art last night. For the first time since I was roughly 12 (and I'm 29 now, so that's quite a gap, LOL) and, as you can see, yeah... this is why I don't art. Was awesome when I was 5, but as an adult... not so much. So cartoony. I can't background. Or size/perspective/proportion. Or people/humanoids. Or people/humanoid FACES (urgh). I mostly stuck to animals as a kid and this is why. I can sorta draw them and like them. I kinda like how Boggy turned out. Everything else looks like rubbish to me, though.
 
BUT I'M SHARING IT ANYWAY BECAUSE Y'ALL ARE COOL. And gentle. But mostly cool. And I made it for you because Solas.   It's also officially the first Dragon Age fan art I've ever made, such as it is.
 
I have no scanner, so it's a picture of a picture (apologies for quality). I twiddled with it last night, just a sketchbook and mechanical pencil. I may attempt to shade it later with colored pencils and maybe I'll feel better about it. Maybe.

 

 

 
 
The scene is my attempt at the whole "ballroom crashing" and "jar of bees" idea that floated around here the other day. I thought that was really funny, so this was my take on ballroom crashing: female Qunari Inquisitor riding Boggy and Solas (wielding a Jar O' Bees that, sadly, look like flies) riding the red hart causing general chaos, as can be seen by the fleeing Orlesian noblewoman there on the left who was so horrified she even DROPPED HER MASK. *gasp*
 
The text at the top says:
 
"And the man in the back said everyone attack
And it turned into a ballroom blitz
And the girl in the corner said boy I want to warn you
It'll turn into a ballroom blitz
Ballroom blitz, ballroom blitz, ballroom blitz, ballroom blitz..."

Maybe someone can make a better rendition of this scene. It looked so much better in my head, but my hand cannot make it happen.

That is great (and I know the song). But don't be so hard on yourself, it's definitely not rubbish. I think if you enjoyed doing it you should keep contributing.

Solas's face in that art is cracking me up! I'm imagining that the Inquisitor just randomly jumped into his arms and Solas is like "Wait, what? What are you doing?"
 
If my Qunquisitor did that, it wouldn't be nearly as cute a picture. Poor Solas

After all this talk about Dagna I'm really tempted to make a mage elfquisitor just to geek out with Dagna because she's absolutely adorable! She's definitely my favourite female dwarf, in my mind our conversations would mostly consist of giggling and whispering behind Solas' back and driving him crazy with it. Who knows what we could accomplish with her knowledge by then. I might have to persuade her into making a love potion for.. science ofcourse, not for experimenting and throwing it on elves..

I won't lie the bees in the ballroom idea is the funniest thing ever, especially since I was watching Pit Bulls & Parolees with my sister and there was an episode of them freaking out about mice, rats, snakes, and most of all BEES. eheheh I get all giddy over clandestine meetings   Those arbors and trellises are perfect for sneaky eavesdroppers to hide behind, so if we rendezvous there I'll have Cass walk around and stab through it randomly to mess with unwanted guests.  Solas will have to stay at home since he'd be too visible with the moon reflecting off his shiny head.

 

Why is this so exciting to me?   I love combat in DA but I guess it's just fun to think about potential non-combat quests like secretive political machinations and ballroom dancing.

I would love to have some quests where we have be all sneaky or use other skills to complete them, especially in Orlais. I too am really excited for the combat in DA:I but at the same time I would think that as leader of such an important party you'd need to have more skills than just fighting, like knowing how to deceive your enemies or maybe if you go the spy route with your keeps you'll know every dirty little secret of every noble in Orlais and can sway them to back your inquisition if you confront them with it

The stealth section in Mark of the Assassin confused me. Partially because if I'm a rogue I might as well activate stealth and just sneak by everyone.

That picture made me squee audibly. I want to be a Orlesian Bard. I know it's not going to happen, but the implications of this picture make me happy enough.

Just imagine doing it as a warrior Hawke. Mine was not at all delicate, dainty, or subtle, so she had plenty of fun whacking people in the head with rocks to knock them out.

in DA2 rogue Hawke is depicted many time as an incompetent, just from the very start   I love Varric and all, but when he said Hawke had a name in the underground, when she was just pickpocketed by a not very good robber, well...I felt as if our dwarf was just having fun of us in meany way.

and Tallis helped with destroyng the self-esteem of Hawke.

The more I play that DLC the more I start not liking Tallis...I was playing a male Hawke the other day and he (I) didn't like her spewing such bs that no one has a purpose unless you're a part of the qun...Tallis had the gall to be a sarcastic little twerp when Isabela told her that her purpose was Hawke and she mouths off "lucky you!" ...I wanted there to be an option for my Hawke to punch and break her nose! Smh

Anyways I had to get that off my chest...

I wonder if they will show us anymore info ,screenshots of companions before E3... Kind of doubt it but ya never know! I'm patiently waiting for E3 to get here.
