o snap! :D

forgot to add earlier: thank you felya :)

I also forgot to elaborate for people who hadn't read it and were curious, in the Abhorsen trilogy you have a good necromancer who remedies the problem of dangerous undead raised by bad necromancers by sending them back to Death, and whose job it is to put the dead to rest

no problem  :P

I had forgot about the Abhorsen Trilogy because I could't find it in italian (like many books...T_T)

now that I think about it...I've decided to read "the stolen thone" (a present from a friend). I'd like to read Asunder after. can I start it without reading "the calling"? (I still have to buy both)

Yeah I'd say you can easy read Asunder after Stolen Throne and before The Calling. The Calling is set before DA:O and sets up plotlines for DA:O Awakening really. Asunder is set after DAII and sets up for Inquisition. They also deal with different plot threads :) Calling is about Wardens and Darkspawn and Maric and young duncan, Asunder is about mage-Templar war, tranquillity and the line between spirit and demon kinda

I'm taking note of everyone who does not seem to be 100% supportive of my bald longjohn-wearing ways. :)

The 100,000 complaints about him looking like a bald Nic Cage, of course ;)

Ugh. I'm glad I don't use tumblr. If you're going to be insulting, at least try to be creative about it (not that I advocate insulting actual people, or even Solas).

That sounds interesting, but if I add any more unread books to my bookcase it will fall through the floor. :( But I'd like to see this sort of thing played out in DA.

Never mind hair color, anyone asked for confirmation on his eye color? Blue, gray, violet?

Good question. I don't think anyone has asked. I'd be more interested in knowing something random though. Does he laugh often? Would he prefer riding or walking? Has he ever licked a lamppost in winter?

It might be worth mentioning the Fiona's back story is in The Calling. And while she is only mentioned in Asunder at the end, it could influence how you react to her. But I suppose it's not essential.

Well I guess we already know what Solas looks like so there's nothing to give!

Maybe we can ask what color Solas's hair would be if he wasn't bald

Brown/black. Remember the war room photo?

Personally I found her new character in Asunder to completely overwrite her earlier character development in Calling.

Spoiler

Anyway she is a minor character at best in Asunder and it isn't terribly necessary to know her before reading it. She is a pretty good character in Calling though, and her situation is fairly unique and helps expand our knowledge of Wardens in general.

It might just be me, but based off of how Solas usually has a smirk on his face (war room concept art, recent screenshot) I'm guessing that he has a dry sense of humor.

The whole pepper candy analogy makes me think that he's sweet/unassuming most of the time, then you get "where the hell did that come from?!" on occasion. Kind of like Mordin, he's pretty calm most of the time but when you hit the right button he really goes off.

Considering that Vivienne is a full on diva, and Dorian was a Magister which tends to come with a pretty big personality maybe Solas will be the more mellow of the mage trio.

Aww, but then you'd have the opportunity to get your flirt on.  Unless you're married.  But in that case, there'd be more Solas for the rest of us.  (Poor Solas.)

Anyway, on topic.. I have nothing. Sorry. I'm completely tapped of everything but the wildest most illogical speculation.

So what if we have the chance to go to a ball with Solas? What do you think his dancing would be like?

I don't imagine it would be very graceful!

Me either. But it might be more endearing if it wasn't.

Surely we haven't tapped out on ALL possible speculation yet, have we?

Am I gonna have to do it?

Are y'all really going to make me be the one to pull this one out?

*sigh*

Okay.

So, is Solas a boxers or briefs kinda guy?

:P

If you take off his long johns, there's another pair of tighter long johns underneath them.

You know, that is a good question. But an even more important question is 'does he have any junk?' Please don't hurt me, I don't mean to steal your thunder. o_o;;; As I pondered the amusing question of boxers vs briefs I couldn't help but think about that screenshot and the lack of... definition. Everything seems a bit... flat. (That or I am totally missing it and I haven't stared at enough crotches in my lifetime) I'm not sure if modelers would go out of their way to model junk down there or if there's something actually missing...

I'd oddly be okay with that

Regarding post above

I see this going two ways,

Sims 2 male model lvl or

Labyrinth's Jareth lvl

Can't have the inquisitor too distracted, gotta close those that breach, save Thedas

I love that dance.  I want Solas to be terrible at dancing and also socially oblivious so he's not ashamed or embarrassed.

I was sooo going to encourage speculation on this subject the other day, great minds think alike ;)  I'd guess briefs since boxers would probably get all twisted up and uncomfortable in tight pants like that.  How did people live before the invention of Spandex?

I'll volunteer to find out if there's anything missing.  You know, to put your mind at ease and stuff

Nah, female models can have nipples piercing through their armor and defined nether regions (can't use censored word  ), but male models are all Ken dolls. See Mass Effect.

What if Solas makes your Inquisitor a really ugly piece of clothing as a gift? Mine will just smile and bear it, smile and bear it.
