Damn, if Solas has Fenris's voice...I will melt every time he opens his damn mouth.
no kidding, here. Fenris's voice is the only motive I'm replayng DA2. (and of course Varric) ![]()

For some reason, when I try to picture Solas's voice, I picture Gideon Emery or Orsino's voice.

Haha well it wouldn't be Fenris's but, thinking back, most of our male companions had really nice voices. Hopefully the trend continues!
I can't help but picture Solas with the kind of deep but slightly sarcastic voice that makes you constantly feel like he's making fun of you. ![]()

A voice like Orsino's would be amazing
I blame my weird Orsino crush on that voice ![]()
Haha now that's why I only take one mage with me even when my character is a mage! XD
I left the room for a moment and came back to my 4 year old laughing at this like a crazy person
Also, he quotes Frozen (loves Kristoff's line "But ice is my life!") and recently I was complaining to my husband about having to wait for Dragon Age when my son runs into the room, shouts "But Dragon Age is my life!" and runs away.
That may have been my proudest moment as a parent so far ![]()
I'm sure there is...I think Bioware would know that there would be a lot of angry fans if there was just a story arc for Cullen lol.
I think it will happen since it has in the past 2 games...I just wonder what Solas's will be? any ideas? Maybe he's looking for someone, a family member....mmmm no that's about all I can think of at the moment! XD
Sorry I worded that badly. I didn't mean they wouldn't have a story arc. I just meant that Mike made Cullen's sound rather large, and I wondered if all the companions would have quests of similar length, or if Cullen would get special treatment as an NPC LI. ![]()
The companion quests are easily some of my favorites and I always try to wait as long as I can before doing them. I'd be happy if they gave us even more companion-related content, anything that lets me draw out meaningful interactions with the followers for as long as possible. I was trying not to get excited over that Tweet but now I can't help it >.<
I try to put it off too, but it's hard and I have no will power.
FYI, Bioware. I would happily pay for DLC that is companion specific and expands their stories. ![]()

Oh no I didn't think you worded it badly at all...I was just trying to be positive. When I saw that on the twitter thread it did upset me a bit cause I mean Cullen isn't even a companion and it feels as if he's being treated like one, don't get me wrong I like Cullen but I don't drool over him lol. ![]()
Since he's an LI I guess that is the reason why they are having a story arc for him? Which still I don't understand why since he is just an Advisor....

Well, whatever Leliana, Cullen and Scribbles end up being, they're important enough to be included in the group shot which says to me that they're significantly more than your average NPC.
I'll take as much companion-ish content as I can get, even if they're only "honorary companions" that hang out at our house. I can't get enough of well developed characters, gimme gimme more!

I understand. Cullen is pretty "meh" for me too.
But maybe it's so the advisers don't just feel like random people standing around. Which I wouldn't mind. If that's the case, we might get some more Leliana content than I expect and I could never complain about that. ![]()

hehe, one of the first things I thought when I read his tweet was "Banxey is gonna go nuts if there's an equivalent quest line for Leli." I sure hope there is ![]()

True...there could be more than meets the eye with them since they are in the group screenshot!

If Cullen was Optimus Prime I would romance him.

I think they will probably have a more active role,If I remember correctly in the most recent trailer,a hooded figure that looked like Leliana was in the camp along with the inquisitor and followers.
I'm really wondering what Solas' quest could be. Is it a personal quest regarding a family member or friend? Is it a research quest where we help him learn the answer to a question he couldn't answer on his own? Is it a revenge quest? I think a companion's personal quest tells us a lot about who they are as a person. I can't wait to find out what Solas' is.

I wouldn't be surprised if Solas's personal quest took us to the Fade, repeatedly.

"Whatever we were before, we are now the Inquisition" makes me feel like even the advisers are integral assets to the Inquisition, not just NPCs they felt like assigning familiar faces to. All of our advisers and companions have been displaced from their lives or possibly even had to make sacrifices to join the Inquisition and I want to learn more about them, help them with unfinished business, be there to support them with their own problems, etc. I would happily devote tons of time to companion related content ![]()
As to Solas' companion quest... people keep speculating about which companion will betray our PC, but what if one of the companions feels like we have used or betrayed them in some way? Our Inquisitor's main goal is to save the world, so what if we had to manipulate a companion for the good of the Inquisition, but they find out about it and flee? The way Morrigan tags along and uses the Grey Wardens so she can complete the Dark Ritual is what made me think of this. She may have made friends or even a lover along the way, but her main objective was to secure that old god baby and she tries to do whatever it takes to make that happen, regardless of who it hurts. Maybe something happens that makes Solas feel betrayed and his companion quest is tracking him down (possibly in the Fade) and overcoming obstacles to convince him to return to the Inquisition. Obviously wild speculation, but pretty much everything is at this point! ![]()
However, the Solas I've created in my head understands the severity of the Veil tear situation so he'd be responsible and wouldn't run away. Really, any companion could be substituted into the scenario ^^up there^^ I was just trying to make my speculation more on topic ![]()

I'd personally romance Wheeljack over Optimus Prime ![]()

I would never hurt Solas' feelings...Ok maybe a little because I like drama. ![]()
I like that as an idea tbh,it's not uncommon to hurt someone unintentionally and if this happens to one of our companions the opportunity to make up for it would be nice.
Hm
To me, I suspect Solas is a person who already knows who he is. He's young, but not so young he can't have figured that out yet. And I doubt he's going to ragequit the Inquisition, though he might be tempted to betray it.
More likely, his personal quest will in fact be personal, something that will only matter to him. Maybe we have to go take him to meet the Dalish. Maybe it's something we have to help him do back at whatever Circle he left, or maybe he never was with Dalish OR the Circle, but was hidden by his family and the plot is something else entirely. Like, for instance, maybe we have to help him find a formula and ingredients for a hair growth spell. (Just kidding.)
I know nothing about his actual personality, though, so I may be wrong.

Yeah, maybe Solas has some moral line he'd never cross but we find ourselves in a situation where we need to break his rules and have to mislead him into helping us. It'd feel gross, but sacrifices have to be made when the world is at stake.
Solas: Inquisitor, I have a problem that requires your assistance.
Inquisitor: Did you find the assassin who killed a beloved family member?
Solas: No.
Inquisitor: You want to make some magical bomb and blow something sky high?
Solas: No, I left my satchel in the War Room and the door is locked. I was wondering if I could borrow your key?
Inquisitor: So we're not going on an adventure of self-discovery?
Solas: Not unless you want to find out if Schmooples ate that cheese wedge I left in my satchel.

That would be difficult for me, but that's why I like it. ![]()
As far as a companion quest. I'd like for someone to have a family who isn't horrible or dead. Their quest could then be related to them. I think having a companion who is sometimes torn between their duty and wanting to protect their family would be interesting, and also add an element of conflict while giving the random masses a face. I'm not talking about royal families, supernatural families, families who are slavers, families who join the Qunari and sell you to evil jerks. Just a nice family relationship like Utha's (in The Calling) without horrible things happening to them. I could accept them being put into peril, but not being sucked into the void purely for the sake of tears.
