"Whatever we were before, we are now the Inquisition" makes me feel like even the advisers are integral assets to the Inquisition, not just NPCs they felt like assigning familiar faces to.  All of our advisers and companions have been displaced from their lives or possibly even had to make sacrifices to join the Inquisition and I want to learn more about them, help them with unfinished business, be there to support them with their own problems, etc.  I would happily devote tons of time to companion related content

 

 

 

 

I love doing quests...if these Advisors have quests or need help I'd gladly do those quests or help them out just like I would with our companions! 

 

@Banxey I'd like that too the quests where there is no family member that is dead or horrible,but you know Bioware they love fan tears it's a part of their collection so I would doubt that will happen.

That would be difficult for me, but that's why I like it.

 

As far as a companion quest. I'd like for someone to have a family who isn't horrible or dead. Their quest could then be related to them. I think having a companion who is sometimes torn between their duty and wanting to protect their family would be interesting, and also add an element of conflict while giving the random masses a face. I'm not talking about royal families, supernatural families, families who are slavers, families who join the Qunari and sell you to evil jerks. Just a nice family relationship like Utha's (in The Calling) without horrible things happening to them. I could accept them being put into peril, but not being sucked into the void purely for the sake of tears. 

 

Hmm, good idea   Perhaps a companion has to leave their family at home in order to join the Inquisition, that way the struggle and sadness comes from being away from them and not from the memory of their horrific, violent murders.  Like you said they could be put in peril, maybe the companion receives a letter saying the family home looks ransacked and they haven't been seen for days so the companion needs to leave to find them.  There could always be the choice to tell them to go alone or refuse to allow them to leave which could both have tragic results (for all those tragedy junkies who revel in having their hearts torn out).

 

Has anything been said about whether or not the companions can leave the party permanently because of actions/approval?  I can't remember.  If you forced the companion to stay and their family ended up dying that could put a damper on the friendship

Hopefully in that scenario refusing to allow them to go would result in them leaving anyway. I like my companions to have a bit of backbone.

 

I can't recall if anything has been said specifically. But David Gaider said the majority are dismissible so I can't see why they couldn't leave on their own if they're not technically essential.

Gah! I am such a sucker for companion personal quests. Truly. I would adore having more of those per companion than random fetch quests for random NPCs, IMO.

 

I'm terrible, though. How can y'all try and put those off? Any time one pops up for me, I'm all like, "Well, the world is falling down around our ears, but you're my friend and I'mma help you with your personal problem RIGHT NAOW 'cuz you're mah friend!!!!!" 

 

 

I wouldn't be surprised if Solas's personal quest took us to the Fade, repeatedly.

But seriously, I'm gonna give the redesigned Fade a new, fresh chance. The screenshots look very cool. But God, did I get really tired of it in DAO. I think I can handle repeated jaunts into it if they're kept to a reasonable level (and I imagine we're gonna have to deal inside the Fade a lot because of that whole, y'know, little Breach problem). The whole sloth world thing just felt like it took half of my life wading by myself through pea soup miasma that sorta made me a little nauseous in real life if I stared at the screen too long. 

 

And before someone says "Skip The Fade" mod - console peasant. Gotta slog through it eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeevery time.

This makes me want to stat out a mage dd blink tank for my first Inquisitor so hard. All the damage, all the agro, my other party members magesmages, too. Lay waste to all of the things. Yup. My body is so ready.

I really love these, some of them feel like things I could actually imagine in the game. They help keep me entertained and patient!

   I really love these, some of them feel like things I could actually imagine in the game. They help keep me entertained and patient!

Personally I like Varric's voice better than Fenris's but I feel you. And yes, my first Inquisitor is going to be as tanky a mage as I can get her! And I WILL kick ass with a full mage party at least once.

 

They also keep me entertained....for a time. And then I get sad because we know so little about Solas and the game is so far away

For me it was "the reason" from the very beginning. In my last (and only) run at DA2 I romanced Anders, since I hoped to have him returning the Awakening Anders. We all know how it ended.

So on top of all the others (for me, at least) very big problems and delusions I had with DA2, that make me quit the game.

 

Now, since that save was killed by Tallis, I'm replayng it. Fenris's sexy voice, and Varric's humor are what is making me continue the game.

Carven is unbearable, i can only say thanks the ancestors after the first act I don't have to see him. I find it horrible that he have to be such a jerk to Hawke, even if they have the same agenda. Just as I find terrible to have Bethany be all lovely little sister. Those are the kind of forced situations I hate, at least with family members, since those are out of our control, while in DAO, you can decide with the dialogues what is your relationships with your family.

 

returning on topic... I think with Solas well'see little family. I can be wrong, of course, but I think his personal quests will be more about his study in the fade or what else he is interested about. Maybe we will explore for him some ruins or similar, find some book he need or some artifacts. (yes, I like the "fade nerd" idea)

I'd love it if they did that, that would give us atleast a start on personalities and a reason for us to freak out like a bunch of proper fans, I want to swoon over Solas as much as I can swoon over Thane darn it! And knowing us here we could talk for days about a video like that watching the thing over and over again. All for "research" and "investigation", we can't miss any important details ofcourse, if we're going to be a bunch of fangirls/boys then we have to do it proper, right? Getting hyped over actual information is way more fun than getting hyped over mere speculation I think anyway

Inquisitor enters the Keep, weighted down with packages. She fumbles a bit as one threatens to fall from her grasp but her natural dexterity snags the corner of the bag just in time. Solas looks up from the book he was engrossed in, startled at the noise.

 

Solas: Inquisitor! What in...

 

Vivienne comes waltzing in from behind positively beaming: Right! Now wasn't that the best. Although I am very disappointed at the shades of green for the season. A deeper shade would offset the gold embroidery perfectly. Ah well. I suppose roughing it builds character. Be careful, Inquisitor. Those shoes are priceless.

 

Solas: Ah.

 

Inquisitor rolls her eyes as Vivienne prances away continuing to talk about fashion. (Quest complete! +100 approval Vivienne)

 

Solas reaches out and relieves the Inquisitor of two of the packages as she sighs audibly. She looks at the handsome elf. Leaning over she kisses him on the cheek.

 

Inquisitor: Don't tell the others, but you are my favorite mage.

 

Solas, smirking : Just between you and me, my dear.

 

Solas gives her a wink as she smiles slightly before following Vivienne down the hallway.

Vivienne comes waltzing in from behind positively beaming: Right! Now wasn't that the best. Although I am very disappointed at the shades of green for the season. A deeper shade would offset the gold embroidery perfectly. Ah well. I suppose roughing it builds character. Be careful, Inquisitor. Those shoes are priceless.

well, Morrigan was like that...I sort of like the idea of Solas being some kind of male Morrigan

I kind of like the idea of demons, the Inquisitor, and everyone else constantly interrupting Solas at mealtime.

Yes! we need more badass qunari ladies in our lives definitely! (especially mage art because I don't think we've ever seen that before apart from the saarebas, but our qunari's are Vashoth so that's not really a good depiction since we don't have to walk around in chains and stuff, thank god)

definitely. I'm really curious about the lady Qunari, since the comics aren't to be taken very seriously (let's just look at the females Turian. there is a huge difference from the comics and the in game model) and already we see the Qunari had another change in design (Iron Bull horns are totally different from the ones we had seen in concept and in DA2) and since DA have already done the total redesign thing with the Elves, I would not be surprised to see totally different Qunari too.

Either the rate of defection is low among those divisions or female vashoth aren't really common. Actually, would a group of individuals who don't really have sex drives in the traditional sense reproduce outside of the Qun?
