I certainly think he might actually be the writer himself.

I had the same suspicion, but we'll see. I do know that Gaider has...I don't know, a way of putting in little bitty details into the characters he writes that shows me it's him.  Like a hidden calling card.

 

Speaking of companion foods, I'd put money that the one likened to "Skittles and Tequila" is "Sera."

That is my guess as well. I correctly guessed Vivienne as the bunting bird dish. I figured she must be that cruel.

It's also a very high quality candy shop based in Frisco, North Carolina.  It could be a reference to that.

Honestly, I'm hoping this "Solas" is the somewhat cold, analytical "mad scientist" type. Like, Mordin without the likeability and rapid-fire dialogue.

From what I've gathered, I think Vivienne is going to be our more cold and analytically type.  For Solas, a mad scientist-type would be a lot of fun.  Most of the folks I know that are like that tend to be big goofballs when they aren't involved in a project.
