Very true!  It does seem unlikely that both elves would be gay but I'm not going to rule it out completely.  The scariest thought is... I'm not going to say it

I'm like 50% on the fence if he'll even BE romancable. My money's on bisexual.

I wouldn't because I'm very flexible with my playthroughs,I play the character not me...The only thing that would make me slightly upset is him not being a LI at all.

This is why orientation is never an issue for me. If they're an interesting character that I would like to romance, I will make it so. I don't know, I feel like there's just a general good chance for everyone since Mike said this game will have the most romances out of any Bioware game. But anyways, that's just one part of the game (which isn't to say I'm just dismissing it).

I dunno...I'm still thinking Cullen may be the bi one and Solas could be straight, in part because Cullen has such a huge fan base among both genders, and partially because it turns the "all elves are bi" expectation on its head. I think they're going to shake things up this time. Cool that Sera is the same-sex romance option for the ladies, regardless.

 

I'm honestly pretty entertained by the prospect of Iron Bull being a LI for "anyone he's reasonably sure he won't break."  Not that that line (in this interview) is a confirmation or anything, but the specific mention of it does seem like a hint.  Dude is HUGE. The logistics would be...interesting. 

 

Edit because I was typing slowly and missed the question: I'd be disappointed if Solas wasn't available to the ladies only because I prefer to play as female, but it's not like I'd be raging and breaking things. I'd probably just roll a dudequisitor for him at some point after my first playthrough.

 

Edit #2: If he isn't available at all, totally throwing furniture out the window and lighting things on fire.

Disappointed more than upset if I couldn't romance him as a female but I will adjust. From a romance perspective, I would like to romance Solas, Cullen, Dorian, and Varric (I really don't think he will be an option unless they are really going all out with the choices and the restrictions) so I suspect I will have to role a male Inquisitor for at least one of them. (Maybe I'll even finish that play through) 

 

Honestly, romances are the pretty rose frosting on the cake, super sweet and I love it but the game is the cake and without that, no frosting. Mmmm cake!

Actually, now that I think about it, I just realized something... 
Remember when I brought that really ugly romance theory into this thread? Yanno, the one where I present a somewhat compelling argument and it had to do with a leaked survey picture? Well, I predicted Sera would be lesbian and uh... it came true. 

And uh... Solas wasn't included in that theory as a romance option at all...
um... ... ...

I'm usually like this, but I'd only be upset because I plan to make my "canon" Inquisitor female, since my Hawke was male. I'd definitely romance him with a male Inquisitor if he was gay but it wouldn't be my main playthrough.

Mark Laidlaw talked a bit about the ambient chat system where you can just walk up to characters to start talking and then end the conversation by walking away. It would be funny if you asked Solas what was going on only to have him start giving a lecture on magical theory and if you walked off and came back a few minutes later he'd still be going as if he didn't see you leave.

I just got my Jury Summons in the mail and I have to report to the courthouse on August 4   I hope they don't choose me because I will CRY if I'm sitting in court while everyone else is playing Inquisition!!    I don't think the judge will accept "I have a video game coming out soon..." as a reason to dismiss me

Nope, someone even posted a screen shot of twitter and Mark revealed that information on Heroes of Cosplay.

Lol, went into the romance thread and said I felt like the only one who wanted a romance with him for my female inquisitor as a first choice, and they basically all said "TAKE HIM!!" Poor Solas bby ; ;

..Now I'm worried he won't be at least bi. Don't get me wrong, I'd be happy for those who want him for m/m to get it, but I'd be sad. I'd get over it, but it would sting for a bit.

Not saying Solas has the biggest following ever, but most of the individuals who are interested in him want to romance him with a fem!Inquisitor. Not all, but most. I'd seem counterproductive to make him the male only romance. Then again, it seems more people want Dorian to be bi as opposed to male only. If it was between Cullen, Solas, and Dorian as romance options I think the most people would be appeased if Cullen was straight, Dorian was bi, and Solas was gay. But that's IF Solas is a love interest.

Personally, I'm beginning to wish he wasn't. (what blasphemy!) Haters would stop hatin' if he wasn't and the romance thread would stop passing him around like a hot potato. But I'll take anything at this point if he is romance able.

It wouldn't bother me at all. The only thing that would have bothered me would be if they'd made NPC romances the gay ones.

I'm starting to think so too. If they really are doing more romances than they've ever done, it makes sense to have the majority of them bi and split it 2/4/2.  It would also have the added benefit of not causing the forums to be burned to the ground and the earth salted afterwards by furious forumites.

I don't know what to believe anymore when it comes to potential love interests... but I've been really warming up to the idea of romancing Solas as a stoic, ends justify the means, for the greater good female Qunari Warrior Inquisitor.
