I've been lurking the Solas thread shamelessly and I felt that I had to post something at least once so I wouldn't feel like such a creeper. I really hope he's a bi option so everyone who wants him can have him. If I'm being completely honest as a straight female, I'm not that interested in Dorian or Cullen (crazy I know). I actually have no Idea why they don't appeal to me because they are aesthetically pleasing, so that's not the reason. Anyway even if I can't have Solas for my canon fem quizzy I'll gladly be besties with him or try my first m/m romance. However, he seems to be more popular amongst women from my observations and I'm kind of curious as to why?
PS. bald is beautiful.

Yeah, I've noticed that, too. There are some guys who post here who think he's great, but most of us seem to be women--and there are not, overall, a whole lot of us in general. So, it won't surprise me if Carpool is right and he's not an LI at all, but it seems to me that it would be best if he were bi.
And yet, with Sera a lesbian, I'm with others in doubting that Solas will be only available to ladies. So he's either going to be bi, or gay.
I actually think a lot of gay guys will NOT want Solas, and wouldn't even if he had hair. I remember how conversations went in the past on the old BSN. A lot of gay guys stated they didn't really like the elven types, and would have preferred a big strong man, or a beardy man, etc. They may have been a vocal minority of the group; I don't know. But just like I can't speak for the preferences of all women, each man also has his individual interests, whether he's gay, straight, or bi. In any case, that past discussion is the ONLY thing that might cause Solas to end up being straight instead of bisexual or gay.
I'd be pleased with Dorian as an option, I won't lie--but I would much prefer Solas. And while, yes, I get the argument that I could just play a male, I just don't often do that. I think, while I try to not play myself, I still prefer to see a woman be the hero, because it's not very often that women get to be heroes in popular media. I don't have anything against male protagonists, and I do play them from time to time, but I don't think I'm going to buck my trend solely to get some of that Solass (or any other LI, for that matter).
