Haaahhhh that fic and Cole not taking baths, I didn't really think about it, but now that I have I realize I hated taking baths as a kid. That would be horrible but horribly funny if you had to wrangle Cole into taking one. Have Vivienne on the side be like, "no, I refuse to travel with one that smells of refuse."
And as much as I don't want to backtrack, I've been mulling over some things... I recall reading somewhere that LI's are determined very early on. (It must have been a tumblr somewhere but I've spend too much time looking for it) If that's the case, I can't really see why we wouldn't have two elf romances. They seem safe enough. But uh... I guess I'm only putting this out there to make myself feel better. (Considering I can't get the survey theory off me. It's like when you get resin on you.)

I'll be very very surprised if Solas turns out to be gay now that Sera has been announced as lesbian. I won't however be surprised if he turns out to not be a LI, but I will be disappointed

So I know I have a sort of Dorian/Solas ship in my head, even if it's just a magey friendship, but the demo they've shown this week makes me rethink it. If Solas is related to necromancy in some way, Dorian's "what have you done?" reaction in the video makes me think they might have more disagreements than I previously thought. But, but, Solas, Dorian, I want you two to be best buddies

Hm.. I was kinda thinking that Dorian might be the necromancer in the party because he was studying under that guy that was shown in the demo right? And I think he possibly (Alexius I think it was) used necromancy to revive his dead son. I could totally be wrong though and maybe Dorian has nothing to do with that but that's what my first thought was.

Awwwwwwwwww, noooooo. Okay, secretly, I too wanted them to be buddy-buddy. (Or possibly hook up if you don't romance one or the other don'tlookatme) It's going to ruin my Merrill and Fenris being elf!friends or Merrill and Anders being mage!friends I had in my head for the longest time. (I'm not going to lie, I went into DA2 completely blind, even though it had been out a while. I had those duos together in my party once and then NEVER AGAIN.)
I was beginning to think maybe Dorian is the necromancer, especially if he was working under one who dabbled in it. (NINJA'ed by Cezelle) Maybe the Tevinter mages don't find it taboo so long as it isn't affecting those closest to them. (apprentices and family members and whatnot) But if it is Solas who is the necromancer and Dorian who is against it, then yes, I can only imagine we'll encounter disagreements between them.
Edit: Well, maybe this bunch doesn't. (Doesn't really like necromancy) I get the impression that anything magic goes in Tevinter, especially blood magic. What would deter them from participating in necromancy?

Same here that was my thought also...but like you said Dorian could have nothing to do with what Alexius has been doing...
Plus I don't bribe....but if it comes to it like Cezelle said we will give you tears of joy in a jar!

@Roxy I spent a lot of time in the Thane thread, here's hoping this thread will end on a happier note!
I always play female elf when I can, Solas is the obvious choice for LI, a dalish elf going off with a human doesn't fit for me, there's been too much oppression of the elven peoples. Out of the remaining characters we know of Varric, might be the only other plausible choice but although I think he is an awesome character, I think I would prefer him to remain untouchable (not a popular view, I know 
) I liked that mystery about him.
Now that I think about it more, I'm leaning toward Dorian being the necromancer. Now that he has been confirmed as Dorian Pavus, the Tevinter Magister, it makes a lot of sense. It's a mage dominated region where mages will do whatever they can to be a cut above the rest, that includes using blood magic. And if they're open to blood magic they would most certainly be open to necromancy. I wouldn't go so far as to say Dorian is a blood mage, we already had that with Merrill, but a necromancer? Highly likely. I'm also not certain what state Alexius' son was in, he could have been revived through necromancy, or tainted by something. Nevertheless, Dorian might be commenting on how shocked he is to see him revive his son. (I would think the mages would have enough respect for their family members not to bring them back from the dead, unless the specifically stated they wanted to be.) Or perhaps he did something else.
In that cause then, yeah, I see Solas being the Rift Mage of the group and Vivienne being the Knight Enchanter. Which means... I guess they can still be friends???

Exactly my thoughts! Although you wrote it down a hundred times better than I would've I see Tevinter Magisters a bit with a motto like " the end justifies the means" so I can definitely see them using necromancy on occasion, but when Dorian is confronted with someone actually bringing a son back from the dead (which would probably be something they wouldn't normally do) he's disgusted and it result in the "What have you done!?" sentence that he said in the demo.
After seeing Dorian I think I will join Solas fans and will not speak about his bald head never again (may be a little, sorry everyone 
) And I like idea about shaved hairs because Solas have non standart hair colour

Well welcome to the Solas thread ....I hope we get some info soon too, I just wonder if they are holding off on him,Blackwall and "Cole" until PAX? Hope not!

D'awwwwwwwwwww thank you~ And yeah, while they wouldn't value the lives of their slaves, I can see them either being like 'family and the dynasty is everything' or not really caring at all. I also wonder if he just did some strange sort of ritual with Alexis. Like maybe he didn't bring him back from the dead, but maybe he did something to cause the fade problem there. (Well, of course he did something to cause the fade problem there but... yanno)

If he trained in necromancy I think he would very well know what he had done. Also, he's opposed to the Tevinter ways and I would think that includes their use of necromancy. I don't know, there might be more to it than that. There might be something in that particular situation that has him horrified other than the actual act of necromancy.

Suuuree His head is perfect circle withour any ugly bones. His head skin shines on sun, may be he apply some oils to it, and i really like his chin and ears. Also it seems his brows are black? Means if he ever had hairs he was black haired elf, cause you know, brow color similar to natural hair colour.

I wouldn't take the sentence "what have you done!?" as literally as that, when I heard that at first I was thinking more along the lines of him asking "why would you do this?" This is all speculation ofcourse but what if Dorian studied necromancy under Alexius, and he already had all that knowledge and was skilled in that kind of magic, before he began to oppose the Tevinter way of doing things? These are all what if situations in the end, but that's what I thought would be the most logical from what I gathered from that conversation.
I'm with Cezelle 'what have you done' is not an actual question, its seems more like an exclamation at what Alexius has done, and disbelief that he has actually done it... because he knows Alexius has crossed a line and he knows this because it is familiar magic to him.
