I'm with Cezenne too. I don't think that exclamation is proof of not being a necromancer, but more about what effectively it was done in that moment/situation. (RedCliff is a place I would not live near, by the way... )

 

I don't know why, but I don't think Solas and Dorian will be much friendly to each other. In truth, I don't see Solas being friendly with Vivienne either. Just a sensation, nothing more.

I'm quite perplexed about Vivienne light blue eyes in the trailer. I fear she is up to something bad...

I can't find the banter where someone wants to rub Solas' head for good luck and he's upset about it. It might have been on the tumbls or it might have been here.

And I hope Solas is buddy-buddy with some of the companions, especially considering all I can really imagine of Solas at this time are the 'eyes of indifference' Solas. Not the smirky one from the war room.

If Solas is a necromancer then that might be a reason why he might be introverted. Nobody likes necromancers so maybe he avoids people because he doesn't like the torches/pitchforks treatment.

Well, I suppose the one leaked from the Felicia Day video could count as a cannon in my mind. (I was specifically thinking about the war room art as smirky.) I just don't enjoy drawing/ portraying a character 'out of character'. Or, at least, what I consider out of character in my mind.

What I think would be both awesome and hilarious is if, once the game drops, Solas suddenly becomes really popular. And we can say we were here from the beginning, ever the supporters of bald elven heads, questionably-tight longjohns, and jawbone necklaces.

I was hoping for David. He likely wrote Cole, and I don't know if he'd be writing more than two characters, but...still kinda hoping for David.  Or Sheryl Chee.  As far as actual educated guesses, though, I've got nothing.

Cassandra would be one, and he's all but said "never happening" in the Cole thread (logically enough, and I'll just leave it at that), so...

What I DO know... is that I cannot wait to eventually get one of those nice bios/writer interviews for Solas like Sera, The Iron Bull, and Blackwall got this week. I really enjoyed reading those. I want more.

Kinda hoping Solas is available for FemQuisitor because - being brutally honest here (sorry, Solas) - he is/was my back-up plan for if/when we ultimately find out if Varric is available or not. Because he's really my first choice, but that's a slippery slope that's been covered ad nauseam.
 
I have a bad feeling he's still unavailable. And now if Solas is, too, I'm gonna honestly laugh and cackle for a little while. That creepy, unsettling, slipping-slowly-into-insanity sort of cackle.

Introverted!Solas stands towards the back of the War Room with a knowing smirk on his face...but he doesn't say anything. Maybe he's quiet and reserved most of the time but he has a fiery, passionate side to him once he gets more comfortable around you. Even if he was the Inquisition's Mordin that would be pretty cool in my book. 

 

I'd be interested to see how he gets along with Sera who appears to be blunt and in your face. She kind of strikes me as an elven Jack, something in her past must have drawn her to the Friends of Red Jenny.

Okay, so I'm finally delurking! I've been following this thread (and Solas' beautiful bald head) since the start of the thread, and I feel like we need to gather a larger fanbase! I keep feeling pretty defensive when people are so quick to judge Solas despite knowing practically nothing about him, even less than those of us who scour this thread for tidbits.

 

Personally, I'm really excited about his personality and potentially important part in the plot, given his 'fade expert' status. I love bookish or geeky guys, so I'm hoping the introverted/awkward thing is true to some extent. But then I'm really curious as to how that could possibly mix in well with the 'spicy' side of his personality.

 

Overall, I am a little disappointed at the lack of Solas at E3 It kinda irks me that Solas was teased ages ago with his name being revealed and a couple of pictures of him, but then a bunch of the newer characters all of a sudden get more info than us...we've been waiting longer ! (but seriously, I do love all of the characters so far!)

 

...and I'm really holding out hope for him to be an LI, and hopefully by a FemInquisitor I don't really have any other males that appeal to me, besides maybe Dorian, but he strikes me as maybe being the gay companion. The news about Iron Bull potentially being a bi LI has me worried about Solas' potential to fit in a LI slot, but my fingers are crossed!

 

(oh, and this has to be the friendliest, most welcoming thread around, methinks )

 

EDIT: realised I switched to saying "Solus" half way through For shame! (I've been playing too much Mass Effect lately...)
