No I mean master of all.
That's not possible. You will only have so many skill points.

What a G.
What a G.
I try.
A good mage can do everything - nuke, heal and buff.
As long as BioWare makes sure to put in a healing tree. It's looking more and more like Solas will be the one to have it.

Was possible in both previous games. There are always a lot of spells that work mostly the same and have a lot of overlap, so you just mix and match, but can still cover all the major categories, to be able to nuke and heal like a boss all at the same time.

Looking from what, exactly?

I went Spirit Healer/Force Mage in DA2. That worked out very well.
@Ren It's conjecture. I'm going, for now, based upon descriptions between Vivienne and Solas' "foods." A person likened to candy seems more likely to me to be a healer than one compared to Ortolan bunting.

Gosh darnit, now I have to go listen to Metallica.
Song won't get out of my head. ![]()

I hear there is going to be only 1 specialization now, but the basic tree can still cover most of the things.

I'm going to withhold judgement one way or the other until I see what exactly the new skill trees will entail. You very well could be right though, about mages being able to master almost everything but traps and lockpicking.
If every warrior can pick up a shield and therefore hopefully become a tank, id certainly hope that every mage has a healing spec available.
Who did Gaider write in DA2? Fenris, and...?

According to the wiki, the only character that he wrote himself was Fenris. He gave Jennifer notes for Anders in DA2, but it looks like he mainly helped oversee the writing team in general.
He called himself a "grumpy dad" in the Twitter thread recently. ![]()
On a side note:
BEHOLD!!! Light sabers confirmed for DAI!!!

So Fenris is special to him, I guess?
And who did he write in DAI?
I honestly think the general skill tree will be available to everyone of the same class. I don't see why we can change weapons style (and skill trees) for every companion (even Varric), and the mages will be locked of of certain talent trees. As long as BioWare makes sure to put in a healing tree. Cassandra, and at least another companion, which seems to be someone he wanted to write since he joined Bioware. He wrote two LI too, though we don't know if they're all companions or NPCs.So Fenris is special to him, I guess?

hmmm.
My main mages in DA2 and DAO are named Solas. ![]()
This will be complicated ![]()

He murdered them and took their identities. Problem solved. ![]()
He does look a bit like Nicolas Cage in that top pic.
Not a bad thing though.
Maybe.
But not consequent. Our mages are powerfull, more then all other.^^
It is very difficult to imagine that someone can kill them.
Arcane Warrior, Spirithealer, Battlemage, Mightmagic .. you know ^^
I still think Solas might be our healer, if only because he wouldn't be the first fire spell using healer mage in Dragon Age history. I mean, I know Anders never actually starts out with fire spells, but what he was introduced using them in Awakening and is generally associated with using them (plus there are a few mentions in dialogue). Besides, it might be that they just decided to use a pic of him with fire spells in that very specific instance for their own very specific reasons. Anyway, let's not assume we won't be getting a healer at all just yet.
Personally he's one of the characters I'm most looking forward to. Although that goes for all of them. But renegade elf apostate, fade expert and spirit medium with the most adorably terrible sense of fashion and comfort-over-style approach to his clothes sounds precisely like the kind of character I can't help but love. And I've been very fond of him ever since I saw that War Room concept art and the way he looked all smug while the Inquisitor was stabbing a table. I saw him and just thought, "ah, yes, I have no idea who the **** this guy even is but I like him already".
Looks like Solas wielding a staff that's emitting bright light? On a side note:

I thought Gaider wrote Solas as well? I thought I read that somewhere...
^ If Cole is in the game still, I'm almost certain David would've written him.
