Uhmm, sorry for the incoherent post, I'm kinda drunk-posting because England totally just lost to Italy in the World Cup and this sad panda has sought solace in alcohol :P

Hurray for drunk posting! And I was watching that game earlier*

*The English goal was just beautiful. Dat curved kick to Sturridge.

Inquisitor: hugs Solas.  "Solas, that was incredible!  How did you manage to paralyze it's wings mid-flight, then cast that tempest and still have enough mana to use lightning on it when it fell?"

Solas:  "If you had read Colbert's thesis on the recapture of mana with a fade vortex and Teret's wave theory you could see that the interaction of those principles allowed..."  ump "I can't breathe when you squeeze me that tight."

Inquisitor: "I know,  shut up and kiss me."

Solas:  blushes, stammers and runs

Hehe. Reminds me of this:

I would have no problem if Solas was like V. :)

Hugs.  In one of the interviews they asked Cameron Lee if you could hug your companions.  He was unable to answer the question, but in the interests of fueling our speculation, here are some Inquisitor hugs after a dragon combat.

Inquisitor: hugs Vivienne.  "Wow, you toasted that dragon.  Great job!"

Vivienne: "Get off me! You'll soil my robes, peasant."  walks off

Inquisitor: hugs Sera.  "An arrow right in the eye.  You're amazing."

Sera: hugs back.  "I'm so glad we all survived.  And the villagers will be safe now." smiles in satisfaction

Inquisitor: hugs Iron Bull.  "If you hadn't kept that beast distracted it would have had us all.  You're bleeding, let me help."

Iron Bull:  "It's nothing.  But if you are interested in helping, I wouldn't mind spending some time with you."  pats Quiz on the arse

Inquisitor: hugs Varric.  "You had Bianca singing there.  Beautiful."

Varric:  "Nothing but the best for the Quiz.  What a story this will make."  walks off "Dragon swooped from the dimming sky,  a thousand tons of death did fly..."

Inquisitor: hugs Dorian:  "Nice work, Sparkles.  I thought we were dragon chow."

Dorian:  "Well, I am the best.  But..., Sparkles?"  turns too look for Varric.  "D***, mouthy rogue anyway"

Inquisitor: hugs Cole:  "Thank you, Cole.  You were a great help."

Cole: blushes and vanishes

Inquisitor: hugs Cassandra  "Cass, I thought you were a goner, standing their in it's face with just that shield."

Cassandra:  "With proper training and equipment it is possible to withstand dragon fire."  looks at her shield hand  "I should probably see Vivienne about some burn ointment."

Inquisitor: hugs Blackwall  "You were there every time the dragon went for someone, always protecting them.  You have a stout heart my friend, thank you."

Blackwall: "Um, that is what I do.  Protect those who need it.  Thanks."  walks away embarrassed.

I'd laugh if asking Solas why he's bald resulted in a multitude of snarky responses:

"I lost a staring contest with a rage demon."

"I fell asleep in a shepherd's pasture once. The man was a bit slow and sheared me along with the rest of his flock."

"Because it's terribly comfortable. I imagine everyone will be bald in the future."

"Because I gargle with Antivan Fire on a bi-weekly basis. Prevents indigestion."

"My hair ran away screaming after an encounter with a Fear Demon."

"I don't know who replaced Iron Bull's battle axe with a halibut...wait, you aren't asking about that are you?"

That's how I feel about Dorian, I have to keep reminding myself that BioWare is awesome at characters and they will probably all be interesting and fantastic :D The only BW character I have ever 100% hated is Merrill, all the others I really liked once I got to know them, even ones I disliked my first time through (like Morrigan and Sten)

(but man I hope Dorian isn't a LI, no cartoon French waiters with jersey shore haircuts for me plz)

I only hope DAI characters aren't as extreme as DA2 companions where. I liked Fenris and Anders, but really...their banter and dialogue where almost always about their view about slavery and mages. And unchanged. for eight years.

It was tiring as Isabela's jokes about sex. (really, I can count on a hand the banter that aren't sex related with her) or Merrill dumbness.

It was overly done, and made the characters's quirks almost suffocating. I like that every character have his/her traits, but in DA2 where a little too much predominant.

I was quite baffled about Fanris and Anders: I can undertsand that they can't be friends because of Fenris's hate for mages, but they have in common the hate for blood magic. just this should't be something about they could have at least a respectful companionship? nope. not even one times that is seen. If you don't count the teaming up to insult Merrill's blood magic.

since this time probably the memebers of the Inquisition will be more or less a group of people reunite to fight, and not the band of misfits of DAO/2, maybe will see better collaboration between them? I don't want a "everyone is a friend" as in ME, but at least a little cameradie. After all, the companions have fought together. at least a little respect to the skill of each other could be there?

urgh, I've typed too much! by the way, I have the sensation Solas, Dorian and Vivienne will be quite in contrast to each other.

Vivienne is a circle mage, Solas is an apostate, and Dorian (correct me if I am wrong) a Magister.

they have each a different vision of the mage life and condition, and maybe even different belief on the kinds of magic.

I agree the companions of Inquisition don't all have to be the best of friends but I hope they have a little respect for each other..especially when Solas froze that enemy behind you or Cassandra stabbed the Templar in front of you....I love Fenris and Anders both but sometimes it gets annoying how they bicker like an old married couple. From what I've read some of them will get along a few of them won't which is fine, they will have their differences but just a little respect for each other team. :)

Can one of the people who asks him this question just randomly be Merrill? I'd love to hear her responses to some of these.

Now I imagine Solas voiced by Patric Steward. After all Captain Picard was French.

From the Twitter thread:

Yay! That means that, even if Solas is important to the plot, we'll still get at least something about him before release :D

(although it wouldn't be hard to be better than Follower Friday... ;))

YAY! ^_^

Stupid thing about Anders and Fenris was apparently they hung out together with Varric and Donnic (and the Mabari) at some sort of boys night, playing cards and gambling.   I gather Anders wasn't very good at it (Justice probably didn't approve of good bluffing) so may be Fenris got his kicks fleecing him of money.   It always seemed odd that those two would hang out together when not on duty and yet not invite Hawke (even when male).

Back on Solas, I'd rather like it if he was like Mordin, even more if they did a reverse of the Mordin speech where he asks if the reason you keep coming and talking with him so much is because you fancy him.   So you could actually be going and talking to Solas so much because you do fancy him but he is completely oblivious of the fact.   Solas as the comic turn of the companions would be great and it would be such a lovely contrast to Fenris.

yes. in DA2 it almost seems as if the companions are more friendly to each others without Hawke than when she/he is near. I was quite annoyed by Fenris in my first run: I was like "what? with me you are a brooding medieval Cloud, and when I'm away you are...even fun!?!?"

the feeling was that Hawke was never invited... :( forever forgetten, and only called when something bad happened...

I would love Solas being similar to Mordin! (maybe a little more...spicy)

Right?  I mean, even the dog gets invited

I liked all the companions in DA2, but definitely found them a bit one-dimensional - much more so than in Origins.

And as for Solas being a bit Mordin-like?  Haha, that'd be awesome!  He so needs to be romance-able if that's the case!

What I find interesting is that it seems like we'll have groups of characters who get along with each other. Vivienne, Cassandra, and Iron Bull somehow all see eye to eye. Maybe we'll have other cliques.

Hey guys, I was thinking about the theory that we might meet Solas in the Fade, but wouldn't that be impossible for him to do without a big amount of lyrium or some sort of blood magic ritual? Atleast that's what I remember from DA:O unless Solas has some ways only he knows of? (because he is the Fade expert after all)

well, that's why this theory is tied to the one about him being a somniari. Somniari can enter the fade when they wish, not just being touched by it when dreaming. that would be both a motivation and a way for Solas being a fade expert. :)

You need Blood Magic to enter the Fade physically, the last time someone tried that were the Magisters.
I believe the Breach is also done with Blood Magic, seems logical if Demons gain physical form by passing through without possessing.

Aaah alright, I didn't know that that was only necessary to enter to Fade physically, I really liked the idea of him being Somniari, but wasn't that confirmed by one of the people from Bioware as being false? I have nooo idea where or when I read this though, so I may be completely wrong. Now I'm crossing my fingers even more for an encounter with Solas immediatly in the Fade :D (I may have kinda forgot that mages could enter the Fade by themselves in their dreams, hence why I was confused how he could enter it without blood magic or lyrium, oops..)
