Looks like Solas wielding a staff that's emitting bright light?
Anymore pics you can share?
Looks similar to the elemental weapons effect in DA2

So it does.Looks similar to the elemental weapons effect in DA2
I love his looks. This is really one of dying people and apostate, not fanservice boy.
So the Original fan translation called Solas a Dreamer like Feynriel. Gaider weighted in saying it as best to wait for a proper confirmation. But what if he was an Altus Mage? They're said to be descendants of ancient dreamers and magisters. That said it would be hard to believe an Elf would be an Altus member, Laetan probably. It would also put him close to the Dorian concept which David says was/is someone totally separate.

While i have no doubts, that elven blood runs in Tevinter's families, it's not possible for an elf to be of Altus, considering their origin and nature of half-blooded heritage.
hmmm.
My main mages in DA2 and DAO are named Solas.
Thanks, Duke, now I hate that Elf ... ![]()
Dare I say it?
Dat Solass.
Yup, it's a backpacks. Is that a backpack he is wearing?
Also, that spell is pretty cool with the glyph.

Really? Backpack? Guess thats more...realistic. Though I prefer "pockets" around the waist.
Is it just me or do the mage staffs look shorter this time around?

Glowing one looks normal.

Aww, I hope you don't mean this as an insult to Solas! ![]()
In the picture of him casting the glyphy fire spell, that staff does look shorter but, as renfrees said, the glowing one looks normal. Maybe they're just varying the size/appearance of staves (yay! I hope so!)

Well those pants don't leave much to the imagination ![]()
And maybe that's it! I think the staffs could do with being shorter anyways because I would watch my Hawke's back and wonder how the end of his staff wasn't dragging the ground constantly.
I like that he is wearing pants. Makes him being an apostate make more sense since he looks like a common person(well minus the staff and magic
)
I'm just glad the fire looks better. I despised DA2 fire.
Hell yeah also, that a Dalish aravel in the background?
I think it is!! Good catch, I didn't even notice. Too distracted by the long johns.

Well, I know where you're mind is at. ![]()
A touch more on topic: It is nice to see an apostate trying to look more like a regular person. Most of the apostates we've had around stick out like sore thumbs, like Morrigan and Anders.

I think he's the first apostate companion not wearing feathers.
& my mind is always there ![]()

True enough, although I heard that there is a reason for that. Something about the feathers helping with magic. It's been a bit and I'm feeling a little too lazy at the moment to dig up a source.
And I've noticed.
I can always tell when you're actually fully awake.

The DA2, the feathers on Ander's coat were from a sort of bird and helped with magic or spellpower or something. His mission in Mark of the Assassin is to collect more of them.

I'll need to take him with me next time then. I've romanced Anders a few times and I've also took him along for Legacy. I ended purchasing MotA last, so I've only done that twice. I was romancing Isabela in one and Merrill in the other. I'll have to try that with an Anders romance. Thank you!
