random thought: we know Solas is a name of a city in DA, right?

now, I remember about Anders (correct me if I am wrong) he didn't know his real name, since he was too young when he was sent to the Circle. And his name came from Anderfells, place where he was born.

So, if this is a common thing among the Circles, can Solas be from that town (I don't remember where was this place on the map)? that would means he is from the Circle after all, and not a Dalish at all?

Welcome everyone who just decided to join us! (bit of a late welcome but a welcome anyways ) Do my eyes deceive me or are there actually positive things about Solas on tumblr!? It seems like our influence is spreading guys, yaay!

I sort of unconsciously got into the habit of telling people I think he's hot whenever I see anyone ragging on him in the threads, myself.  Fun times

Ooh I really like that idea, that would be awesome. I have no idea where that city was though, if it's somewhere in the area of where we're going with the Inquisition I'd love to visit the place with him, I'd expect him to have special dialogue then too like they showed with Dorian in the demo. He could show us around the place, ah.. that would be so romantic..

I think it's on the border of Nevarra and Tevinter.

A few days before E3 when people were calling things Sera Thursday, IB Friday, etc and were begging for more info on characters I remember the devs saying they had a lot planned for E3 and it'd be "Dragon Age Week."  I think Dragon Age Week ended so I'd guess no more character profiles for a bit

 

Bioware will be at 5 more conventions before DA:I comes out so I wonder if they'll release a little at each one?  GaymerX is a little over 3 weeks away and then San Diego Comic Con is 2 weeks after that.  Then there's a 5 week gap before PAX Prime, 2 weeks after that is Montreal Comic Con, and the final appearance before release is 2 weeks later at Edmonton Expo (at least according to the Bioware Blog).  I could handle spacing like that if we did get a little info at each.  Obviously the 5 week stretch would be the hardest but I bet (desperately hope) they'd give us something in between.

 

Now about Solas' VA... I want to hear it but I'm apparently also a masochist because I sort of want to be surprised when the game comes out.  It would be a looooong 112 days to wait, so maybe I'm just mentally preparing myself for our Solas info drought to continue.

He mentioned or a bio thing mentioned that his Dad hated/feared him and his mum gave him that pillow? So he was pretty old, a young teen.
Circle mages gave him the nickname Anders because that's all they knew about him or something?
I'm pretty sure I read/heard that somewhere.

I want Solas to be an apostate untouched by Templars or the Dalish.
He could have adopted it as a pseudonym though if he likes having anonymity as a layer of protection.

Well, before anyone gets too excited about that, bear in mind that a whole lot of it has been the same handful of posters.  We just get really enthusiastic about Solas, is all!

Not long ago we were wondering if he could use his Volus voice for Solas!  Joking aside, I think Mark Meer is awesome and I'd be thrilled with the prospect of him voicing our elf.

 That's the funny thing for me. I couldn't stand his voice as male Shepard, but I like him just fine in other things he's done. And I'm still giggling about Jethan...

 

I do wonder what sort of voice he will have. I really liked Fenris's, but it was a bit surprising hearing it the first time.

Solas: "Inquisitor, you cannot support Gaspard!  It is a betrayal of our people.  Do you want to see more generations of Elvhen children condemned to the slums, to servitude no better than slavery.   Have you no conscience?!"

 

Inquisitor:  "And would you prefer to see those Elvhen children die now, instead?  Gaspard has the troops and the tactical advantage to end this now.  And Celene is no better, she may speak of aiding the Elvhen, but she will do what serves her best."

 

Solas: "Celene has at least tried to aid our people.  To Gaspard we have less status than the horse he rides.  With Iron Bull's mercenaries we could bolster Celene's forces, and she already holds Val Royeaux."

 

Inquisitor: "Iron Bull's mercenaries are over a weeks march away.  In that time thousands more will die if I don't get these rifts closed.  To close them I need access to the city.  If I wait, that blood is on my hands."
